  • Similar to what the title says, this will be a video about what I think is a very under- if not totally un- appreciated part of the much maligned fourth "Terminator" film.
Magic, mysticism, and wit definitely don't await in this newest Video Essay by one of the worst people on UA-cam, the Book and Movie Guy. Yee Haw.

Call me trash, but Terminator Salvation has always been my favorite Terminator movie XD I really like a lot of the tropes it employs: Marcus's struggle and shame with his identity, Blair falling for someone on the "other side," John losing his humanity and punishing Marcus as a placeholder for the machines even though his true rage is for Skynet, just Anton Yelchin (RIP king) existing in general, the sequence of Skynet messing with Marcus's head at the end, John ultimately choosing his own humanity and rescuing the humans... I'm also just a fan of the unsaturated, gritty look of late 2000s movies in general even though it's not everyone's cup of tea. idk man, I could go on. I love this movie and I'm so glad you gave it a second chance

You should talk about the terminator salvation books that serve as a prequel and sequel to the film that are written by Timothy Zahn
