Hi Susan, like you say, just imagine it in its day, the pool area with a huge roaring fire and a fully stocked drinks and food pool bar would have been great. It’s a complete mystery why anybody would just leave it to fall to pieces like that. . . . . . . Thanks for watching:)

That treehouse though! I could so sit on that deck on a Fall day and lay my head back staring up into those tall trees, smelling the woods and cool air. Getting lost in the kaleidoscope of golden sunlight in the tips of the limbs of trees.

You say the homeowner had bad taste? I actually think her/his "taste" is what made that mansion a home. I loved everything!

“There’s having money and having taste ... then there’s having money and having No taste” ... my thoughts exactly !! Sometimes rich people choose the most gaudy, tacky, kitschy, ostentatious crap ... thinking they’re outdoing their neighbours, but in reality it becomes a competition for who can achieve the pinnacle of gawd-awful flamboyance. Design is a lot like spice ... add some subtle flavour and it becomes delicious, add too much and it spoils and overwhelms the dish.

If you notice all the extension cords run around on the bottom floor..... They likely had water leakage while they were living there, which corroded the house wiring, so they started running cords to try to get power around. It may have been an inherited house that they didn't have money to maintain. Those tile roofs are long lasting, but expensive to repair when they do need it. As well of course with the square footage, the roof was probably a several hundred thousand dollar proposition.

Inside decor was definitely one to desire as visually aggressive, but that was there taste l guess. That indoor pool though, my dream pool for sure. This house must have been a great home to have many guest gathering. There is many unique aspects l love about this house. My taste is very grandiose in design anyways so the arches and iron fancy stare cases to the stone work to stain glass windows, l love it !!!. So sad the state of this house. Makes you wonder what kinds of businesses paid for this Mansion. This is Tycoon living. As mouth dropping as it is the treehouse and the gardens are my favorite. I'm not knocking wealth at all but pulling into this driveway at the end of the day would completely stress me all the way out. Simple girl from a small simple town.
