Another awesome video.. For those wondering, Mudboss is a spec class. It is setup to be a level playing field for the racers. Mudboss is considered an entry level to dirt oval racing. Being a spec class its more about developing your ability to drive the car and this platform keeps costs down because your going to break stuff as you learn how to race. Trust me, I break alot because I can never keep my finger off the gas!!! lol Chris is a good guy.. There are some things you can do to squeeze more speed by freeing up the bearings.. but Chris might cover that in a later vid..
Chris awesome video on how to build a mud boss. Is there any way you can send me the rules on building the mud boss. I would deeply appreciate it. Or where I can find them at. God bless brother
Your question is a bit confusing. I eliminate all air inside the shock so the shock is 100% fluid to provide the most consistent action possiable. That is called 0 rebound. You can get creative and run small springs inside your shocks to cause rebound. Or you can add limiters inside or outside to cause other actions like limiting droop. Shock game is a whole different level of tunning and is a subject for a entire video series explaining shocks.
Best way to explain droop. Droop or aka Downstop is the amount of your suspension travel, higher number, more travel. More or less gives different handling characteristics, should also add that changing this will also change toe and camber
thanks for watching, camber is a very track specific topic which is why i didnt talk about it, but usually -2 LF and + 2 RF and rears are -2 and +3 you can run a bit more if you want to get some tire out of the track to help with grip as well. But again , every track is different so what works for me wont work for a flat track.
1 hole pistons are illegal according to salvas mudboss rules, and yes you can adjust oil thickness's according to driving track and conditions. I race in sw ohio, so the Barn, my local track just closed down it was called diamond loop speedway. Van Zant, hoosier hobbyplex, and probably try a track or two in indy, commisky dirt bowl.
I looked in the rules and it says that you can use any pistons that come in the kit ie 1 2 or 3 hole although the rtr has 2 hole pistons all the way around 🤔
@@robertmonty6544 I use 1 pack all night long per vehicle and it never comes out. But I also use a high end charger , so it really comes down to your race program, the time you have in the pits , your charger, and quality of battery all determins this answer. But with my charger I can discharge and fully charge a battery pack in about 15 mins. But I dont recommend that fast if your new to charging batteries. Also watch your IR of your pack and watch for balancing numbers and puffing. All are signs of a pack starting to fail on you. There is no magical number on how many cycles before you have a issue with one, I have 2 sets of identical packs bought at the same time and 1 of the 2 started puffing on me 2 races ago so I retired that battery. I think its 3 years old now.
Hey Chris, I just watched your video again. And I just noticed that you have the wrong front springs that you cut. The front Springs are progressive Springs. And I think the part numbers is Tra5857 or Tra5859. If they have any color coding on the Spring they're not legal. They are four wheel drive springs.
i heard good things about that, im also testing simple green diamond foam now too. seems to work a bit better it helps protect the plastics with a coating, which is good.
That’s one of the better shock and shock droop vids I’ve seen. 👍🏻
@@lloyderc thanks for the compliment. I do the best I can to explain without going crazy technical and neerdy
thanks for the video. what kind of white wheels do u have on your car?

Indeed I was going too... thats why I didn't cover it in this video ;) thanks for the support as always man.
great overview
Glad to have helped you!
The scrubbing bubbles works wonders for cleaning your brush as well
Do u have a video of the rearshock
Which body post did you use? The set i have, the front of my body sits way to high and im at the lowest body pin hole.
I was going to Traxxas has a complete tool kit works real good
thanks for the comment !
Which video was it that you showed flipping one of the arms upside down? Can’t remember if it was driver side or passenger side
i never flipped one over, i talked about how it was illegal to run it that way. it was when i was going over the rules.

How do u build shocks to get rebound on some and not the others

how much camber are you running and where (rr,rf,lr,lf) on average? i cant find info on it anywhere. mudboss and bandit

Is this a clay or carpet setup?
what track do you race at and is there an advantage to 1 hole pistons and heavier oil in the rear

@@robertmonty6544 ahh I thought the rules was 2 or 3 , so then your good.
How many packs do you need for a days racing with lipo's. Or how many times can a pack be charged and discharged in a day

Are those 2 front red pieces aluminum?
no... stock plastic parts someone painted red before i bought it.
Where did you get that Pillsbury body?! My grandparents last name is Pillsbury!
ebay
Hello
How many hole pistons do you use?
2 hole front and rear is a good starting point.

I found dawn spray cleaner works great on all greasy & dirty parts
