- The end of an era. I say a final farewell to my ~5,600 issue comic collection. It was assembled with time, patience, love, and a youthful enthusiasm for a better world.
Pro tip: Most comics from the 80s and 90s are worth very little, turns out.
I think you should keep at least one box and put all your favorite comics in it that way you will always have a piece of your joy of comic collecting with you forever.
'79 was right around the time I started collecting and Iron Man was my favorite title. I see that Axis and Allies up there in storage too. I started playing that when I was in college.
Thanks for sharing. Will be a difficult moment for every collector
Hard call, thanks for sharing.. hope you got a good deal.
Great collection, and I'm sure it's a bittersweet feeling to pass them on. I only wish you were getting more for them than you did. I have a large collection too, and Iron Man has always been my favorite, though I hate how Tony Stark is written these days. Volume 1 is my favorite for pretty much all my books. All the best to you, and enjoy your suddenly increased space!
Thanks and totally agree! The movies were a blessing and a curse, I think.
Great time to sell- congratulations
Its an interesting subject for me I'm in a similar scenario. I stopped collecting years ago because I started considering the "endgame" lol. Dont have anyone to pass my collection down to and dont want to be buried with it either. Sounds like you collected for fun more than profit so it was definitely worth it 👍
Yeah, it was certainly a rough call. What I can say is to make the best decision for you...if your collection brings you joy by keeping it, then keep it. If not, then do your best in passing it on so it'll be enjoyed by someone else.
@@vangarrd I'm in the process of giving many of my comics to a collector/reseller in NJ who's just a great guy. I don't read them; I don't want the work of reselling them; I don't know anyone who's truly passionate about them. So I'm giving many of them to him.
😂 sorry to hear you are selling your collection. Good luck brother!
Thanks for sharing. Will you collect again?
Nah, I think that's it for me. The industry has changed enough that I'll pick things online now and then, but not to collect long term.
Wow. Hope you got a nice deal.
Not nearly as nice as I'd hoped. 🙂
@@vangarrd Doh!
WHAT! Are you crazy!
Probably. 😀
Not sure why you would say that they’re not gonna gain anymore value. You never know what they’re gonna be worth 20 years from now. I mean just look at some of the books that are 20 years older than these.
Books published in the 80s and 90s were waaaay overprinted, so there's a glut of issues out there. I guess it's possible, but even a lot of stuff from the 70s is considered bulk.
@@vangarrdonly until most of that has been sold or damaged beyond mint. The more people who sell cause of “no value” the better for people who hold onto them. Seen this happen many times with different items over time. Great looking collection though!
He not cry I cry for him
Were do I get a closet like that
Built my own when I renovated the room (my home office).
Ah you won’t have any comics to show anymore 😮
You never said if you're not collecting anymore or if you're starting over.
