Haha, great video. I did the same trip Sunday and it was a little rougher. I vlogged it on my channel. No one chummed though, so it was a successful crossing 👍
I am a real sucker for ferries, pretty sure I have ridden onto a few dozen in the last few years. if you're a ferry guy, I hope you are subscribed. should be a few more coming up shortly
I am so excited by taking a bike on a ferry, that I searched "motorcycle ferry" so I can watch people performing the glorious act. I wish there was a YT channel of nothing but bikes crossing on ferries. I haven't been on one in almost 3 years 😢. Ride safe.
I have some epic ferry rides mixed in with other videos, but I DO have these that were easy to find? ua-cam.com/video/1OhDSplgdd4/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/7KBWPFryWeU/v-deo.html
Great video of the ferry ride. I kept thinking I was gonna see Capt. Jack Sparrow do his famous run across the ferry. Looking forward to the dunes camping.
Grand Rapids Michigan, the former furniture capital of the world! Milwaukee, WI, the presented location of the TV show Happy Days, they even have a statue of the Fonze! I still watch re-runs to escape the modern world sometimes..
What a ride! Been on the Badger many times. Almost rode on this ferry but missed our connection. Ride Safe. Would absolutely LOVE to ride around Michigan like my parents did.
I love a good ferry, too. Looks like you’re heading north toward Traverse City way. I have family there and spent many a summer on the beach and at the dunes.
I rolled right through traverse City, that video should be coming in the next few days. I can imagine that's a really cool place in the summer, but damn it I will never go back in the spring Jesus Christ it was so cold
Very cool that’s the USS Silversides on the channel in Muskegon. I grew up in town just down the road. Fun to hear about your perspective of something I grew up with, the lake, the climate and everything else. Looking forward to watching the other videos from your trip
@@MotoGiant Yes definitely was very fortunate though Muskegon has its problems like any other town but things seem to be headed in a good direction here. Moved back home a few years back and just got a dual sport in December. Looking forward to exploring once things warm up
There is another ferry from Michigan in Ludington. Its the oldest coal fired boat still running. It take 4 hours to cross the lake. Cool boat and a good time.
There is an entire weather system (Lake Effect) based on The Great Lakes as a whole , each lake having local effects from that larger system. This route also avoids some of the restrictions Illinois places on your constitutional freedoms.

Southern tip of Illinois has a ferry into Kentucky by cave in rock.its an older version but nice.the cave there was once a looters hideout, featured in a daniel Boone movie. Our first time across it was late at nite and foggy.dad just came to a stop with the river lapping at our tires.no signs or lites.this was years ago, lol.they have made improvements since
Not just the lake. Temps have been cold this yr in the entire state. I've been here for 65yrs and hate the climate. Michigan has 3 seasons, cold & damp, frigid & dry, and hot & humid.
Another great video Don , thanks again for sharing . May I ask how much it cost for the boat ride ? Looking forward to seeing more camping adventures. Mark from Maryland
Let me guess you edit with headphones on 🤪. As a UA-camr myself I turn up the volume as much as I can on the files so that my viewers can turn it down if they need but they can never turn it up 🤪🤪🤪. I am watching on my phone and I can't hear what the other biker dude is saying 😁😁. Obviously not too loud but louder then your standard volume. You can do that on your editing software 😁😁. Hope this helps. 😁🍻 I hope this is not just me 😂😂 if it is then I'm sure there are other people like me so maybe you can make your own subtitles for viewers like me 🤪🤪🤪 quick tips 😁🍻
I only added with headphones while I'm on the road otherwise it's a nice stereo. yeah I understand I can turn parts of the dialogue but from what I remember it wasn't really worth the effort and most people would probably be disappointed anyway I don't think the guy said a whole lot
I need to do a trip to pick up a bike in detroit and ride back , will take this ferry back to milwaukee did you get sick on it thats what im worried about

I grew up in northern Ohio, Great Lakes weather is a whole thing.
Made famous by Gordon Lightfoot
Great video looks fun
I would be just as excited as you to get on the ferry. Ferry rides are great! Love the videos my man. Keep it up.

Great video. I'll be taking the LE across the lake with my motorcycle in a few weeks.
You have to come back to Wisconsin some time.

I bet you could spend a year or more simply riding around the country hitting all the ferries? That sounds like a really good trip.
that was cool

A lot
I looked up the price online and it looks like it's $63 for the motorcycle and $97 for the rider, one way.

rock solid catamaran - almost zero side to side movement.
Did you take your own straps?
They have them on the boat - ask for the special rate! Otherwise, it is pretty expensive :(

Keep going north and you will find Wildlings and White Walkers! Too bad you were unable to record Beetlejuice while you were in Sh$#hole Chicago.
