    Great content.
    So I’m developing a project where my bearing configuration will withstand a great amount of moment and axial load. I’m divided by using 1 set of back to back angular bearings + 1 roller bearing or 1 set of angular bearings back to back + 1 double row angular bearings.
    The performance in terms of security factor is similar, but I believe roller bearings are not too adequate in moment conditions.
    Any video where you explain a similar setup?
    Thanks

    • @mastermechanicaldesign
      @mastermechanicaldesign  Рік тому

      Yes, for moments of load, Cylindrical roller bearing is not appropriate. For heavy axial load (in case load is unidirectional) we can use also use angular contact bearings in tendum arrangement.
      Othwise back to back arrangement or double row angular contact bearing is good option. But make sure the size by rating life calculation. If load is constant. If load is not constant use rating static load rating formula.video on combination of bearings - No as of now there is no video

      @@mastermechanicaldesign glad that I found your channel! Thank you
      Yes, the load is mainly static. Right now I’m having a safety factor of >2.
      I’m also using skf software to validate the system
      So probably I will have a double angular to compensate for the high moment and on the bottom a tandem arrangement of angular beartings to endure all the axial load.
      Thanks once again

    First of all thanks for sharing the knowledge with everyone. Can you please tell us where we can find the Coefficient of friction for all the types of bearing?

    • @mastermechanicaldesign
      @mastermechanicaldesign  9 місяців тому

      You welcome.
      Coefficient of friction of bush bearing- You can find coefficient of friction for specific bush bearings make and model in their catalogue. Because cof is depends on size and material of bush bearing
      For rolling bearing - its hard to figure out coefficient of friction, because its all depends on lubrication condition. In Full film lubrication condition friction will be virtually zero and in boundaries lubrication there will some friction but can't be calculated.
      For more details, you can bearing selection series

    Working with industrial agitators, I have a mechanical seal that has an integrated bearing but for the condition I need a extra bearing on the shaft. My question is, the kind of bearing included on the seal is going to affect on the selection of the other one?

    • @mastermechanicaldesign
      @mastermechanicaldesign  9 місяців тому

      If the existing bearing is pure radial bearing (deep groove ball bearing or cylindrical roller bearing) then this will not affect the new bearing at all.
