2024 Winter Graduate Profile -- Maj. Sara Dixon, U.S. Marine Corps

Congratulations to U.S. Marine Corps Maj. Sara Dixon, graduating from the NPS Dept. of Defense Management in the Manpower Systems Analysis program this Friday, March 29, 2024.
Dixon’s thesis research focused on an analysis of the Marine Corps’ Dual Military Household Assignment policies in support of the USMC Talent Management 2030 initiative. With an emphasis on the initiative’s priorities of retention of quality leadership, and reducing stress on Marine families, Dixon’s analysis explores potential improvements to the co-location policy, and its execution. Dixon also spent the last year leading the Trident Room Podcast team, NPS’ student-led, student-hosted podcast series. She now heads to Headquarters, Marine Corps in Quantico to serve in the Diversity and Inclusion branch of Manpower and Reserve Affairs.
Dixon and the rest of the quarter’s graduates celebrate the completion of their NPS studies during the Winter Quarter graduation ceremony on Friday, March 29 at 10 a.m. Pacific (1 p.m. Eastern), with 17th President of the National Defense University, U.S. Air Force Lt. Gen. Michael T. Plehn serving as commencement speaker.
