WTF with Viki? She really blew it. She's a moron, but she's good at teleporting you anywhere. And McDohl, well the man is a beast, the Soul Eater is a real heavy rune. It damages a lot, it vanishes enemies. He's a machine. What a dude.
She is such a headache in this game.. 20% chance of backfiring with every rune is kind of.. ugh. :p But she's a staple character! And in the later games really good! Just not in Suikoden 2. xD
Larsy She's better sticking to the teleporting, in fact, it's a basic feature, without her teleporting you everywhere you're stuck walking to every destination, but you also need the Black Mirror to come back to the castle immediately, or you gotta walk the way back. Viki and the Black Mirror compliment each other. She may be the worst fighting character if she backfires runes, but I remember playing with her and using the Blinking Rune, and I don't remember her backfiring with that rune. She's a simpleton, along with Meg.
***** Oh, she can backfire with the Blinking Rune allright.. try Ready! or Go! with her, and 20% of the time, she will teleport one of your party members away! Its pretty hillarious. Even though Meg and Viki have similiar personalities, I would much rather have Meg in my party compared to Viki. Meg has a 20% fail chance with fire and... resurrection I think, but she does 40% more damage with both wind and lightning. So she can actually damage alot safely, even though her magic stat is low. Viki on the other hand.. Stay by the Blinking Mirror and teleport me. :p I agree on that part
Larsy And remember the Trick Rune, and the Unite with Gadget. Besides, Meg's not the weakest character, like Tuta, or the slowest, like Bolgan. Luc is weak phisically, but the best magician, Mazus too. And I think I remember Viki teleporting some ally. Funny. She's really silly, she's a comic relief, just like Sheena or the circus trio. And I meant Blinking Mirror, not Black Mirror, but you got it. Actually, besides Viki or Tuta, there are no real weak characters, you just have to train them well. It's more like the allies are divided on standard or normal fighters, and outstanding or beast fighters. The first category is for Millie, Nanami, Eillie, Meg, Shiro, Shilo, Gadget, Koyu, Gijimu, Lo Wen, Freed Y, etc. The other category is for the Hero (or Riou), McDohl, Viktor, Pesmerga, Flik, Mazus, Camus, Hix, Tengaar, Humprey, Georg, Feather, Sigfried, Abizboah, etc. The help you get from the Stars of Destiny is real great.
