"Ross, did I ever tell you about the time I went backpacking through Western Europe?" Ahhhh, sweet, sweet vindication. A rare win for Ross, ya gotta love it!
#nickreacts hey nick your videos are awesome please react to one of my favorite old live action disney movies from the 1960's it was released in 1968 it is a awesome movie you have to watch it with your girlfriend it's called the love bug starring dean jones michelle lee and buddy hackett you and your girlfriend will love it
The payoff to the videotape episode was so great, one of my favorite clips to go back and rewatch. Ross's expression when the truth comes out is so good lol
Not-so-fun fact: For the honeymoon subplot of S8E3, Monica and Chandler were originally going to be detained by airport security after Chandler makes a joke about bombs (saying "Don't worry, I take my bombs very seriously" after reading a sign saying not to make jokes about having them). It was all going to culminate in them of course getting released at the end, with Joey saying his line over the phone making sure they wouldn't be mad about any damage from getting in to fix the "gas leak" and Monica saying "No, I want you to wait there until it blows up" right outside the interrogation room door, at which point they get escorted back inside. This subplot was re-written and re-filmed so it would be just about them trying to get into first class because the episode would've aired about two weeks after 9/11. The scenes are available here on YT though
Honestly, I like the change. It feels fresher than the airport security idea and fits Monica's competitive nature. Plus, I love Chandler's lines ("we're you, ten seconds later!") Really a credit to the writers that their quickly subbed plot is just as funny. It's a shame it didn't fit with the Phoebe and Joey story, though.
I really love how funny Rachel becomes in the second half of this series. When I think of Jennifer Aniston, I don’t instantly jump to ‘comedic actress’ for her career but you watch the later seasons of Friends and she is on FIRE.
All of the later seasons of Friends are the absolute peak of David Schwimmer's perfomance. He was just incredible at both physical and verbal comedy. The rest of the cast was great too, but David is God's level.
I love watching these reactions to Friends. It makes me sad though that sometimes I forget that Matthew Perry has passed. I'm so thankful we will always have this show to keep him alive for us and we will always have Chandler.
It’s hard to believe that Ross played pretty much the ‘straight man’ (comedy wise) at the beginning to being one with biggest comedic reactions to everything! 😂
The Fact that Ross called the president of the condom company just to complain is just hilarious and funny "yes I will press 1 " 😂😂😂 plus Ross should have said I feel cheated and frauded as a consumer 😂😂😂
An early ultrasound can be very hard to interpred. It is not so unrealistic that Rachel couldnt see the baby/fetus. Or actually what the fetus was on the ultrasound
- In all fairness to Rachel, I can never see anything in those scans either. It's all just blue and black squiggles to me. - Love that Ross got a win (he rarely does) with his knowing look when Rachel's about to use the backpacking story!
Yes, TONS of free upgrades on my honeymoon! I called ahead to reserve the private honeymoon cabana (the others were like little duplexes) which our all-inclusive resort advertised as available upon request. Then when we got there, I went back to the check in stand every morning to ask what we'd get that day. It got to be almost a joke. They gave us a champagne brunch in bed, a free photo package (best photos ever taken of either of us!) which lasted about two hours in several locations, free resort swag (T-shirt for me, hat for hubby), a free couples massage, 50% off a daytime excursion. It was marvelous! My grandfather taught me you never know until you ask, and many people will give you a discount or perks just for asking. In fact, we had to buy my grandmother a new winter coat for his funeral, and i actually got a 15% bereavement discount. He would've been so proud. 😊
Episode 4 is one of my favorite Ross moments. Her knew he was right and tape would prove it and he begs Rachel not to show it anyway so she can save face. He really tried to take the high road there.
Ross' face remains the best part of that reveal😂 Also i'm not sure if you ever realize, anytime phoebe and joey are together, they act more like a couple than they do friends and the entire time they're jealous, they give couple energy.
The good thing is that Rachel doesn't see it and Ross does because he already had one. In the first ultrasound you only see shapes, whether or not it should have the shape of a baby. and it is very small.
One of my favorite little details that the Friends producers/wardrobe have ever done is in this first episode. They took the "Red sweater" and made a long sleeve red shirt for Pheeb's with the same type of pattern. However it is not acknowledged by any of the Friends group. 🤣
The video tape episode might be one of my fav episode from friends tbh lmaoo 😂 I'm so impatient to see more reactions from you, season 8 is soooo cool, so much is coming
Originally Monica and Chandler’s not so honeymoon was going to have Chandler make a joke about saying bomb on a plane and then getting detained…..and then 9/11 happened. So the quickly re-wrote and then re-shot the airport scenes.
Agreed, the structure for ep. 4 and how the storylines link up is impressive comedy writing. Also, the condom scenes show how much society evolved in only a few years; they weren't allowed to actually say 'condom' or show the box in 1996 (the S2 episode where Rachel and Monica play rock paper scissors for the last condom) due to U.S. broadcasting standards, and then we had these scenes in 2001.
Sometimes it's nice to just pause and really appreciate how this show managed to maintain such a high quality of both comedy and storytelling over so many seasons. So many shows flame out, but you look at a show like Friends and episodes like these that are just on fire eight seasons in. It's so rare to see. I'm so glad you're still enjoying the show! The scene where Rachel tells Ross is one of my favorites. Ross's indignation at the condom company while Rachel is just exasperated is pure comedy gold.
The original storyline for S8E3 was Monica & Chandler getting detained before getting on the plane because Chandler complains about airport security and Monica made threats to Joey & Phoebe about the door, so the scene had to be re-written because it was filmed by 9/11 but it's original airdate was exactly one month later, on October 11th, 2001.
It was because of Chandler and Monica finding out that the couple they met in the ‘plane may have given them false names that we “meet” Ken Adams. This is yet another tie-in to the whole plot. It was amazing how all the separate pieces tied in together.
As some others have mentioned, Chandler and Monica's honeymoon plot was rewritten and reshot last minute as the episode was due to air just after 9/11 and the original version of that plot tapped into themes that wouldn't have been appreciated at that time. The DVD (at least my copy) has those scenes play after the episode with a little disclaimer to explain. You'll be able to find them online though. I'd recommend watching that maybe after Season 10 in the same video as the complete bloopers.
At the time this episode came out (2001), air travel and hotel stays were mostly either luxuries or business expenses, and these industries were making much higher margins than today. So yes, they could afford to give out the occasional free upgrade for honeymooners. Nowadays if you tell a hotel you're coming for your honeymoon, they'll just try to upsell you on a "honeymoon package"
I didn't really have a favorite until Rachel got pregnant, Jennifer Aniston is just amazing in her portrayal and the writing is key. 🤩 "Ross, I'm pregnant. ... And you're the father, by the way, but you got that."😂 BTW, a very special guest star is on its way this season!😊
If you go back and watch Season 7, you'll notice that they had been setting up Ross's 'DRY SPELL' throughout last season. It starts at 2 months dryspell and then builds up through rest of the seasons :)
Jennifer Aniston was on The Wayan's brothers LIVING COLOR series for those who didn't know. She played a dumb blonde model named EM after EL in the alphabet, lol. A reference to Elle McPherson, the famous super model. I used to sit up late until early hours in the morning to watch it. Funny as $#*t. I believe this was how her career got started before her role on Friends.
The Videotape episode is one of the most iconic episodes ever!! Joey steals most of the episode but its a great group effort overall with so many quotable lines. "Skys blue Ross and i had sex yesterday!"😂😂😂😂
6:17 Ross sanctimoniously setting himself up for this gut-punch is so satisfying. It's right up there with "Oh wow I'm sorry, but Ross...you kicked off your shoes!". 🤣 13:11 An absolute Classic Episode. The fake number sub-plot is fairly hilarious, and the main plot is right up there with "The One With The Embryos" (a.k.a. The One With The Quiz Show). And the way they cross over is a smidge Tarantino-esque (and a bit of a Ross-demption, if you will). 15:13 HA! Wish Granted. No billion dollars or World Peace for you.😉
Ross is always labelled as toxic because of the way he reacts to Rachel over the seasons but to be honest they both deserve each other because Rachel is shown to be similar just in a different way. The fact she not only gaslit Ross in this episode but also lets the gang believe it was Ross while being perfectly aware that she started it with the story which she didn't think the friends would know about and so wouldn't find out she was lying, shows how manipulative she can be. I say all this loving the show and all the characters 😅 I think it gets brushed over sometimes the traits that Rachels has. I do love them together and I think the baby storyline is one of the best of the show.
Was about to watch a "Team America" Reaction, but "Friends Friday" takes precedence, and much like the Groosalugg, it overcomes all things.😉 Side Note: I somehow spelled "Groosalugg" correctly on the first try...I must have looked it up sometime previously....🤔 Anywhoozles, Cheers and Happy Weekend to our Host, his Lady, and to all Y'all out there. 🥃☮❤
The Monica and Chandler storyline was completely botched because of 9/11 they had to cut so much of it because chandler makes a bomb joke in the airport and the is taken away by security
One of my favorite episodes! I loved the whole setup, I love seeing Joey’s intelligence shine through and the twist where Rachel is the one to seduce Ross! It’s so good!
Nick: Ross is a good dad Also Ross: (uses his own son to get out of helping with packing up Rachel's stuff from Monica's apartment) 😂 before anyone argues please know that I'm joking. I remember the Holiday Armadillo.
Remember when Monica said the day of your wedding I will be pregnant how funny they turnt it 😂😂😂 reaction of Ross terrible doctor how he doesn’t know aaaaa😂😂
"Ross, did I ever tell you about the time I went backpacking through Western Europe?"
Ahhhh, sweet, sweet vindication. A rare win for Ross, ya gotta love it!
One of the best put together linking of the storyline the show ever did. It was a brilliant piece of comedy writing.
Don't think it's a rare victory for Ross. He has had quite the few zingers over Rachel throughout the show
My favorite payoff joke in the series
#nickreacts hey nick your videos are awesome please react to one of my favorite old live action disney movies from the 1960's it was released in 1968 it is a awesome movie you have to watch it with your girlfriend it's called the love bug starring dean jones michelle lee and buddy hackett you and your girlfriend will love it
"That is brand new information!" cracks me up every time.
It's even a GIF.
"I grew up with Monica! If you didn't eat fast, you didn't eat!"
Ross’ face when he finds out is still amazing!
His reaction is literally your profile picture 😂
David Schwimmer is the best.
@@guimaraespadilha he has such incredible physical comedy
This and season 10 ross reaction is peak😂
Yes, and also Chandler’s turn and grin when the video shows Rachel starting the backpacking story. 😂
rachel: ross, let’s just forget about the condoms…
ross: I MAY AS WELL HAVE!!!
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
THIS SCENE IS AMAZING, HILARIOUS!
The payoff to the videotape episode was so great, one of my favorite clips to go back and rewatch. Ross's expression when the truth comes out is so good lol
Ross’ reaction to the pregnancy will always be legendary 😂😂

I was just going to say the same. It’s a really funny scene
pregnant rachel is one of the best plots of the show

Pregnant Rachel is legendary.
"The one with who came on to whom" is probably one of my favorites.
"THAT IS BRAND NEW INFORMATION" is a quote that I think I'll never forget 😂
All of the later seasons of Friends are the absolute peak of David Schwimmer's perfomance. He was just incredible at both physical and verbal comedy. The rest of the cast was great too, but David is God's level.
I've heard from many that the later seasons are peak Rachel & Phoebe. While Chandler got less funny, unfortunately.
"THAT IS BRAND NEW INFORMATION" is definitely one of my go-to Friends quotes 😂
Mine, too! I say that all the time.
@@amybethkit same!
I love watching these reactions to Friends. It makes me sad though that sometimes I forget that Matthew Perry has passed. I'm so thankful we will always have this show to keep him alive for us and we will always have Chandler.
R.I.P. Ms. Chanandler Bong 💔
The one with the tape had quite a couple of surprise plot twists!
Me and my husband yell "that is brand new information!" at each other all the time
It’s hard to believe that Ross played pretty much the ‘straight man’ (comedy wise) at the beginning to being one with biggest comedic reactions to everything! 😂
The Fact that Ross called the president of the condom company just to complain is just hilarious and funny "yes I will press 1 " 😂😂😂 plus Ross should have said I feel cheated and frauded as a consumer 😂😂😂
I’ve been in the first class lounge once. They have a fruit bowl, vending machines, and comfy chairs.
Man the tape episode really is top tier
Ross's reaction is hilarious😂😂
Ross: Now I'M so happy.
I was so happy for you, buddy. (LOL!) That twist was awesome.
I love how Rachel knew she was the one who came on to Ross and just didn't know he knew what she was doing.
Nick: What happened, who came on to who...
Joey: WHOM... that's right!
🤣🤣🤣
The writing on this show is just incredible. They can make you laugh one second and cry the next.
An early ultrasound can be very hard to interpred. It is not so unrealistic that Rachel couldnt see the baby/fetus. Or actually what the fetus was on the ultrasound
*Interpret btw, but ok 😅
Considering Phoebe & Joey are using Monica's phone from her apartment while "breaking in the door" Monica didn't catch on 😂
LOL hadn't thought of that 😂😂😂
unless you had caller ID, you had no way of knowing who was calling.
2 childs and 3 divorces , ross's online profile is getting better
Children not childs👍🏻
Favorite day of the week!
-was that another joke?
-was that another question..?
Lmfao
We still use “THATS BRAND NEW INFORMATION!!” to this day! 😂
- In all fairness to Rachel, I can never see anything in those scans either. It's all just blue and black squiggles to me.

The videotape story is so absurd and so fantastic. It's a ridiculous premise and yet it works so well. And the tie in with Ken Adams is brilliant.
My favorite thing about this episode:
Beside Ross’ face lol
Is phoebe wearing almost the same “Ross shirt” in the last episode lol
And the sex story ! That’s the best lol
Yay! Now you met Ken Adams and Regina Philange. And also now know the Backpacking Through Western Europe story
Episode 4 is one of my favorite Ross moments. Her knew he was right and tape would prove it and he begs Rachel not to show it anyway so she can save face. He really tried to take the high road there.
Two GOATED episodes
Ross wearing the red shirt in the flashbacks :)
Ross' face remains the best part of that reveal😂
Also i'm not sure if you ever realize, anytime phoebe and joey are together, they act more like a couple than they do friends and the entire time they're jealous, they give couple energy.
The story of backpacking across Western Europe, it really works 👌🏻
the set up for the reveal in the episode is immaculate
Ken Adams bringing them back together.
