People be saying enemies to lovers or lovers to enemies, but I like to think its about a sibling relationship (not necessarily a bad one though)
I didn’t think of it as that, but that also sort of makes sense. I personally see it as a close platonic relationship that got broken apart, so similar to lovers to enemies but platonic:0

Everyone is saying this reminds them of a romantic relationship, but I really see this as a platonic or sibling relationship.
Not really a bad one, for either, but really noticing it’s breaking apart. Maybe from a misunderstanding or another problem in communication.
The area where you aren’t really sure if they consider you a friend anymore, y’know?

@@doordonut-.-281 Yeah I kind of agree with you, though mostly because of the lines ”Remember when I could tell you not to smile when you were mad? And you would always crack, and we’d both be laughing in the end...” because they seem to have had fun together before and just not anymore. But maybe it could still be lovers to enemies and then back to lovers because they still seem to care about each other!
I always interpreted the song as lovers to enemies, just because it uses a lot of past tense and sentimental lines, like the ones we’ve discussed here, but also “do we have another go” and such.
This song DRIPS of siblinghood to me.
Also, I think the _split_ brief two-part harmony reflects how the people in the song are splitting.
i think of this song as 2 siblings who used to be close as kids but as they've grown up they've become, well, enemies
and one of them- the younger one- wants to be done with the other for all they've put them through but the other, older and mature one, wants to make things right but isn't sure how, because of course neither can remember why they even started fighting but neither is willing to give up the fight, for the younger its because that'd be letting the other *win* as they've always been winning since they were kids, and for the older because they know the younger would never truly forgive them, but the older one is willing to do anything for the younger to love them again of course the younger one always just wanted to be loved by them so eventually the older one just... gives up. the younger one 'wins' but it's bittersweet. and now there's no way for them to be as close as they used to be, after all of this. *are we allies? or enemies?*

I like to interpret this song as two people who've known each other for the longest time, and have a close bond, until their relationship falls apart and they are forced to go against each other, despite one of them not wanting to, bc of their past bond/relationship, like they use to be siblings or partners or friends.

I used to do dry land dog sledding way back in 2017. A lot of people keep saying this is supposed to be for a romantic relationship, some say it's for a sibling relationship, others think differently, so on and so forth. But I feel as if this is a song that can be applied to _ANY_ one relationship that's troublesome, breaking apart or at a divide of some sorts, and that's the flexibility of it that I like so much.
I've vibed to Curses for a long while and am overdue to listen to your other music. and it was worth it. Great Music that I can listen to for a good while.

Everyone has jumped onto the sibling bandwagon, but I can't help but see this song being the relationship of a mother and a daughter, a loving one that just got worn down with growing up and that "leaving the nest" phase, where a mom gets overprotective and more overbearing the more she sees her daughter growing up, and how that sudden change can cause arguments and further separation, yada yada.
This song to me repersents the relationship between myself and my mind. I am my worst enemy. Specifically the line, "sometimes I just can't help myself at all" All I know is this song means alot to me and alot of other people.

I sort of interpreted this as a relationship that was once good and loving - one that's turned into something hurtful and toxic for both parties. They don't know whether to leave the relationship or stay - they still care about each other, but it's so hard to be together when it's this bad for them.
(The relationship itself is never defined in the song to be romantic, but I kind of classified it as romantic in my head.)

This song makes me think about my dnd ocs. My character had someone who they saw as a sister. They had a very good relationship in the beginning because they both got into mischief and were both kicked out of their homes because of that so they related to each other. Soon a war broke out and they were forced into a life of crime to survive. Together they started a gang and it started gaining traction and growing bigger. The sister became more outwardly cruel and my character became more conflicted. Eventually they had a fight and went their separate ways, but even so they still love and care and worry about each other. Both of them would still do anything to help the other even if they wouldn't outright admit it.

A lot of people thing of this song as the relationship between siblings, or enemies to lovers, but it actually reminds me a lot of what I have with my dad. My dad’s a bit of a narcissist. I love him to bits, but it feels every time we are really getting close, he ruins our relationship with some dumb argument. He won’t even stop the argument once he yells and cusses at me so much I start crying, he just keeps going until I have to fake that he drilled his point into my head, and I have to profusely apologize. The next day he will pretend nothing happened. He always tells me how proud he is of me, but the moment we get into an argument, he tells me how me how awful of a daughter I am. A 13 year old shouldn’t have to live with this. Sorry for the vent, but I love the song because of how close it hits :)

Falls down the allies around them, they were the last 3 left.
Bdubs, Scar and Grian.
What will they do?
"GET HIM BDUBS!" Shouts scar.
Grian runs away in battle with Bdubs, 'I have a plan' whispers Scar to Grian.
They run back, Grian stabs Bdubs in the back. "TRAITOR!!"

This really reminds me of how I am with my sister. We were always really close, but also fought a lot. But even when we fought, especially when our parents weren't home, we'd always end up laughing somehow. We'd always end up lying side by side on the floor, counting scratches. We still have these moments, just with less physical wounds. But even if we fight every day for a week, I don't know what I'd do without her.

I kinda think that this song is about 2 best friends,one of them being really toxic but the other being oblivious to it since they were raised in a toxic household.the toxic bsf starts caring about the other after a while and is starting to try and become less toxic.the one who was oblivious to it realizes that the toxic on is actually being toxic to them.they try to -kts- and thats what the "this will be the death of me" is,them saying that this will be the last time that the other talks to them,the toxic one convinces them not to do it.the toxic one stops trying to get better and becomes toxic again.the other is no longer oblivious to it and theyve been put so much that they try to -kts- again.their stopped by the toxic one.then the toxic one becomes EVEN more toxic.the final "this will be the death of me" is the other bsf finally succeeding at -suicide- and dying.

I have two OC's who this fits so well for and no one asked but I'm gonna tell their story anyway
So basically they are twin brothers who have wings and are princes and since their parents are royalty and not around a lot they relied on each other and we're best friends but as they grew older they drifted apart. Until one of them falls for a human wich is against the rules and the council finds out and thinks it's the other innocent twin and sense the other is only a scared fifteen year old he doesn't correct them and his brother is exiled. He feels guilty for the rest of his life and the other brother becomes evil and swears revenge, and on his brothers coronation day he takes over the castle and fights him. But it ends up with the evil brother on the ground with a sword to his throat. But the other brother drops the sword and gives him the chance to kill him. So the exiled brother flees with all his held back pain and confusion coming at him all at once.
