It wasn't actually a kazoo. The solo on 'You're Sixteen,' which sounds like a kazoo or something, was Paul creating the sound effect. Starr's version remains one of the few No. 1 singles to feature a 'kazoo-sound' solo.

Anytime they got Ringo to sing, I was vibing. He had the personality of a regular dude in his vocals.

Ringo is so underrated, was awesome at so many things.
He sounds like your friend would at a bonfire while you play and they’re just in the moment singing. Not glamorous or anything, but prominent and true to his voice. He Carrie’s the songs they got him singing on. Love his stuff, sounds real if that makes sense.
