Yeah, and blades are by no means toys. They are fully hobby grade products that fly amazingly and have quality parts! Sure there are other companies that use carbon fiber and such for more parts, but blade keeps prices down, while also providing excellent flight performance! Great brand / products! Thanks Blade!
yeah, I agree! It was about 20mph wind while I was flying the test flight, so I think I would have caught some wind noise no matter what in this flight video. But that is a great idea that I should do! Thanks for advice!
Well, it depends. I would say the 450 X would be my choice of the two... but the 450x also costs about $200 more($499 for the 450X BNF vs. $299 for the 450 BNF Basic). Both are great helicopters and are very cabable with 3D flight. If money was no option I'd probably choose the 450X, but if I was trying to save a bit of cash, and still have an amazing helicopter, I'd go for the 450.
I'd say try the mcpX first. It is able to take a couple crashes and will help you learn the CP controls. Then when you move to a larger CP heli like the 450 or 450x, which is more stable and easier to fly, you will have an easy time learning on it, and advancing!
It sounds incredible and I love the added power, but please take my advice everyone and don't try and do 3d infront of your house. I know, it was stupid of me. You'll be fine if you wanna just hover and move around a little bit, but DO NOT fly around really fast or do stunts. But anyways, I really appreciate these videos. They helped out alot.
Oh my god, I am still having the single most biggest heart attack I've ever had right now. I got the 440 motor installed and when I flew it, I tried some tic tocs. I know this was stupid of me, but I did it infront of my house, but I took it way up in the air and when I did them, I somehow lost control. probably cause the sky was solid white with clouds. I somehow regained control at the last second. The canopy and skids scraped the ground, but it made it. I had to land and take a deep breath...
Just picked up a 450x for $408.00 shipped online at Ultimate Hobbies. Ampdraw also sells the X for $399 as well. So for that price it's really a no brainer to get the X over the 450 3D!!
Mast3rbug, there are a lot of advantages to owning a blade, the least of which involves spending less money. My LHS carries every part a Blade needs. If the heli is damaged on a nice weekend, I can get the part and continue flying the rest of the weekend. I can upgrade pretty much any part on a blade to Trex quality without spending more for parts that don't make a big difference. Carbon fiber and aluminum parts don't always improve flight quality, but almost always cost more.
Great video Earththing.. well its the winter here on the east coast and this is when i start playing with my heli's again lol . I've been looking at the Blade 230 heli , then seen the 450 so still thinking what one I would want to get?
Well, this version of the 450 is a great flier, but, they have newer models now. Blade makes some great 200 and 300 size CP helis. Really all of them are pretty great now a days. Depends on your price range. The 230S is supposed to be a really great heli. I haven't flown that model myself, but, I've heard really good things.
Hey, I thought I'd come to you again for another question. I got those same thunder power blades on my 450 and they look even better in person. I originally wanted to just upgrade the blades, but now I have no choice but to replace the motor and gears because I guess I put the motor too close against the white gears and they melted and ruined the motor. I guess my only question about the 440H motor is do you have less flight time than with the 420 because of the extra power? Thanks.
Thanks for this video and all your other Blade heli videos, they are very informative. Question: What are you putting on the screws (Product/Brand)? Thanks in advance.
Nice upgrade. I might have mentioned this before since you like to make a lot of videos it would be a great idea to invest in a wireless mic system so your voice can be heard clearly.
your gettin 30 to 40 % more power with the 440 but the esc is junk throw an ICE 50 on it TO TUNE and toss the gyro too. put gy401 then i give them trex s a good run!! actually might be better.

Has always been a very smooth and in control heli for me.
if you say so... I love them. they have been top quality for me. I can't wait for the 130x, 300, and 500 series to come out!
Thanks, it sure is a blast to fly!

it can handle some wind. I have flown it in 20mph wind without any problems... but like any aircraft, less wind is usually better.

nice, have fun flying it!
nicely done my friend i just ordered that motor going to try and put it in the 300 x happy flying !!
Should be one hell of a motor in the 300x! have you installed it yet? how does it fly?!?
Happy 700th man
Beautiful in flight!
I didn't notice a difference in flight time, seemed about the same. And for sure there is a bit more power with the 440H.
Thanks!

yup, i'm still making vids on them. my last like 10 videos were pet vids, and more to come.

Looks great
it has a ton of movement as is, but that is an option I may try later :)
thanks :)

Kitty: yummmm, rotor blade!

It's just blue loctite I believe.
Hallo, just one question: is the tail belt of this Blade 450 compatible with the T-Rex 450? thanks in advance, ciao
OMG great story bro
How's the 440h motor holding up? I hear some bad things about this motor, particularly the lower bearing.
I did this same upgrade to my 450 3d. Just wanted to know if your motor and batteries are getting hot after 4 mins of flying? Thanks
@earthling1984 have u tried moving my flybar weights in or removing them completely. The roll rate increase drasticly.
Hi just wondering if the new 440 motor you have changed, would it match up ok with the 35amp speed controller?
i put in all those upgrades and a little extra aswell like metal blade grips and cf tail blades
What would the next step for me be(I've flown mQ X, mSR X, and 120 SR)? A larger 3D heli such as Blade SR or 450 3D, OR a micro 3D heli such as mCP X?
Nice upgrade. I might have mentioned this before since you like to make a lot of videos it would be a great idea to invest in a wireless mic system so your voice can be heard clearly.
It's Kendras Cat.
how much slop is in the head? a guy bought one and said there was alot.
And have you or anyone else had any issues with speed controller?
I had no problems in the 20+ flights I had until I crashed :P
Could u put an even bigger motor in it
ok cool cuz i was gonna buy one but do some mods like trex links jr 550 gyro all carbon and cnc parts thanks for the feedback man.
LMAO, the cat!
What happened to ur animal videos, ur snakes, rats, mice and reptiles were really cool. Do u still have them????
is that your cat?

2:13 FAST WALK KITTY
And if you have a good gyro !
I don't like blade helis. They are overprices toys. You are always better with a trex clone than blade.
