- The Thunderbirds: FAB Stage show became a hit during the 1980s, touring the world and the west end. Totally FAB. Saw this around 2001 and, for the first 10 minutes wondered what I had signed up for. Then, something clicked and I was in hysterics for the rest of the performance. Brilliant acting, affectionately perforned, and my funniest experience, bar none. Would be riches beyond avarice for this to return to the stage. So, come on, what's keeping you - take my money 😂.
they need to bring this show back ASAP
❤agreed
I grew up with Thunderbirds and now my grandchildren are enjoying my Thunderbirds toys.
I feel lucky that I got to see this all those years ago, just so funny
Great 😊
I remember watching the show at a Comedy Festival in Manchester in the early 90s - a sublime piece of theater and, as Gerry stated, these two guys genuinely loved the Anderverse, so were being utterly respectful while being funny at the same time.
And, if you looked hard enough, you could almost see the wires....
Great Video! I wish I had a THUNDERBIRD 2 hat, it STILL looks FAB!
I was hoping for one of their performances :(
I first saw this at the 1987 Edinburgh Festival and couldn't believe how wonderful it was. I came back to London and told all my friends they had to come and see it with me. A magnificent show created and performed by such talented people. Lovely seeing this all these years later.
I saw this in London a long time ago, i took a Canadian friend who had never seen Thunderbirds, but i had an episode on VHS so i lent it to her for a week but she never watched it. She hadn't got a clue what going on and kept asking me to explain things. Never going out with a Canadian again.
Saw these guys in NZ, as well as Thunderbirds, CS they did the Apollo landing on Moon, such creativity, and to how they represented scale was genius. Wish they would come back and do another show. :-)
So glad some people clearly enjoyed it. I saw it in Sheffield (late 90’s / early 00’s???) and thought it was dire. Guess you can’t please everyone!
I wouldn't mind seeing a Thunderbirds Arena Spectacular, where it is taken seriously and has better special effects.
I saw it at the Unity Theatre in Liverpool in the 80s and it was indeed FAB.
Wish this show had come to Canada - I remember watching the series as a wee lad here in Toronto and seriously loved it!!
I saw this back in 1991 at the Mermaid - great fun
Wonderful, I wish I had been around to see it back in the day.
Let me just say; Thunderbirds are Go!
Great move to use the original music for the show
I remember hearing about these two guys doing this show, but never had the chance to go to see one; always regretted that; If any full shows were available on video, it's be amazing to see a cleaned-up release... 🙂
I grew-up watching Stingray, and Thunderbirds especially when I was a child back in the '60s and adored them; Thunderbirds was always my absolute favourite:- the vehicles, and the music really stuck with me, and of course I loved the characters too; the visual effects had the drama for the shows, but the music running alongside just really amplified the danger to 11...!! 😆
I also find it fascinating that so much Barry Gray's music was re-used from series to series.... you'd hear a certain music 'warning/danger' motif in Stingray, and then it's be used again in Thunderbirds, and even as far as UFO, and so many other musical motifs like that reappear throughout....it's rather nice; you always knew (as a kid) that you were watching a Gerry Anderson show just by the music!! The visual effects were always on a new level with every new show, but having those familiar music cues just helped to keep it in the 'family'...!! 😉
Awesome show I would have loved as a kid huge fan of thunderbirds and stingray and captain Scarlett and Joe 90 😊
I vaguely remember the stage show as it was shown on tv once I was about 4/5 years old at the time
Why are their having Vehicles on their head?
That’s the whole point!
