Is This Tasmanian Tiger Footage Real?

- Опубліковано 17 тра 2024
- The Tasmanian Tiger was last sighted almost 100 years ago and has since been thought to have gone extinct. However there have been reports of sightings every since they were reported to have gone extinct.
Is this finally proof that they do exist?

A wise man once said, “if you see a Tasmanian tiger, for their sake, no you didn’t”
In case anybody doesn't understand what he said - if there are some alive out there, their population is very very small. Maybe 250 in all of australia, compared to badgers (a relatively rare species) having 500,000.
The amount of thylocenes would be so small that if there's proof some are still alive, well there's enough *_rude_* people in australia that all of the tazmanian tigers will die.
Stronger words wanted.
@@FelidaeEnjoyerStronger words being, humanity is fucking awful, and they will make this species extinct again if they find it.

A fellow Casual Geographer, I see.

LOL well I say that you have indeed predicted this video
i kind of want beaver to have a monthly debunk livestream where he goes over stupidly fake news and laughs over it
@@user-nd8ql2vr9i , I agree, that would be absolutely hilarious! An idea for Beaver, if you're listening, from an Aussie fan; try debunking that yowie video that was released about a year ago, I think? It's cool because there are so many little things that don't fit but at the same time, there are few clean explanations because when was the last time you saw an 8-foot person?
I like how forest was so excited in the beginning but then after talking with the person for a little bit, you can see the sadness in his eyes cause he is realizing the guy could be faking it
I mean, it's clearly fake
B-but no! No one would fake the images! W-why would they?

Forest question him well i thought ...The Airport one is a good one as there are no International flights into Tassie yet he claimed that his father doesnt like stop overs so flew America direct to Tassie there are no such flights ..You have to fly from Sydney,Victoria,Melbourne etc..
Poor Forrest and his hunt for his White Whale that is called The Thylacine. I really hope he comes out and says something about it being a hoax.
At least he tried to be honest about it. It would have been nice but it's too good to be true nowadays
The saddest part about the thylacine's extinction was the fact that it was caused by people deliberately spreading false information about the animal attacking livestock.
It definatley would attack lifestock if it could
The things that killed livestock was stray dogs and a Thylacine are a lot smaller than we make them out to be
@@nejmizrendomand what, you can easily protect it yourself or have a guard dog, you don’t hunt the whole species down. Coyotes aren’t getting hunted to extinction

The fact that archesuchus is mocking this whole thing makes it 10 times better
Why do we assume he wasn't involved in the hoax? I don't think he was, but it seems odd to throw it all onto Forrest, when this 'Zach' surely would've been more professional and more convincing if the hoax was elaborately created by Forrest, who has a reputation to uphold.
@@flightlesslord2688 archesuchus made his thylacine replica before this video came out, he just made better pictures using that model to mock the situation

I watched Forrest’s video and I want to believe he’s so obsessed with finding a thylacine that he’s not thinking as critical as he should be. The kid that said they saw it is absolutely bsing Forrest. We’ll have to see how this unfolds.
Forest galante is a legit guy though he has found extinct animals before

@@FUNGUSLORDhe takes credit for other peoples work like that caiman he "rediscovered" Sergio Balaguera-Reina had already rediscovered it and Forrest promised to donate for Sergio's caiman research for serigo helping him out with the episode but he never donated anything
He might be making this stunt to attract some sponsors for the expedition he's been planning. For a few months now, Forest has been wanting to get an expedition going to find the thylacine
Really? I thought he was just doing clickbait but he really believes the thylacine still exists? That's surprising
Nah, he got given pretty convincing photos and made a video on them... nothing clickbaity here. He also mostly thought they were hoaxes.

If i try to take a picture of an animal in the dark, my phone will see just as much as these pictures.
He used the zoom he said. Smartphones all have terrible zoom because there's no way it can be good without the lens sticking inches out the back of the phone.
@@MakerInMotion
Exactly, my phone sees only pixesls when i zoom in, its annoying
Note, all phones can take square photos nowadays
This is true, however you’d need to scroll through to that “mode”, whereas the guy claims the photos were taken in a rushed manner meaning he wouldn’t have had the time to choose a square lense.
I can't remember where I saw this, but apparently there was a rumour that during transportation a few Tasmanian Tigers escaped from their enclosures and ran off into the wilderness. Years later when reports of the chupacabra started popping up people described their hunting behaviors as very similar to the Tasmanian Tiger. So if the Tasmanian Tigers do still exist they could be the inspiration behind the myth of the chupacabra
Forrest actually talked about this theory when he on the joe rogan podcast
Forrest personally didn't believe in the theory, it would be cool if it was real. But most likely isnt
Sorry but I gotta call BS.
The cupacabra from what I know is an American/mexican cryptid and likely based off coyotes with mange.
@@c0rg1s that’s the Americanized version. But the original Chupacabra sightings took place in Puerto Rico, and even then, it was described as an Grey Alien-esque creature with spikes.
Was this in Puerto Rico? Because that’s where El Chupacabra originated from. I personally like the theory that the original Chupacabra was a science experiment that escaped or something from a different dimension/planet. Because the Chupacabra was first described as a small vampiric alien grey looking creature with spines then when it became mainstream it was Described as a coyote with mange in the USA

This interview was of so much comedic value. My favorite part was where he couldn't remember how he got to Tasmania and doesn't know the names of the towns despite having relatives live there.
Should he know names of towns besides the one his family member lives in? Why would he? I have a sibling in Providence, Rhode Island and I couldn't name any of the suburbs of Providence if my life depended on it. The story is fishy but that's not one of the reasons.
@@MakerInMotion It is, among many other reasons
I've seen clips of this guy here and there. Every time it's just him talking about 2nd maybe even 3rd hand info. No primary source that isn't absolutely a hoax like this. Its a shame that thats the stuff that goes mainstream; instead of actual comservation effort.
So few willing to talk out on misinformation like this. For that I have yet even more Respect for you James!
He did rediscover the Fernandina Tortoise, the Pondicherry Shark and caught legitimate video evidence of a possible Zanzibar Leopard. He has done incredible work to put species back on the side of living creatures. The Thylacine is his White Whale though and has had an obsession to find one alive.
@@OVER-RANNUShe’s rediscovered (or at least been on the team that has) 8 species
@@OVER-RANNUSunfortunately there’s a lot of things Forrest has done that’s not true. For one the leopard discovery has been greatly called into question as there has been no further proof of these cats five years after that trail camera video on a small island. Many believe the footage was of a mainland leopard passed off as the Zanzibar leopard. The tortoise, caiman, and langur he “discovered” were all discovered and documented way before any of his ventures but he got credit for their rediscovery. And the tortoise especially he and his team did no work in actually locating the tortoises location all that Galante did was tag along with a camera crew and got all the credit for the discovery. Forrest is trying to get to Papua New Guinea for a Thylacine expedition. Claims it’ll be $5 million to get him there. So it wouldn’t surprise me if he was involved too. Especially with TAGOA and his relationship.
5 million? I don't know much about expeditions so I can't really comment but that's a lot. Wonder what all the money goes towards and how long it's for
@AGamingBeaver I think it wasn't $5 million, but it was high price though.
@@AGamingBeaver he has a video on his channel talking about it. Why he thinks they aren’t extinct. I might be misremembering the amount, but I thought it was five. I imagine it’s for a crew and all the trail cameras and things he wants to bring to set up. The video was interesting, but again, no physical proof of the supposed animals in question being alive or the photo of the jaw bones that were supposedly from the deceased animal, a “striped dog”.
Maybe it’d cost that much for the travel and guides and maybe being there for a while and high end equipment but even then 5 mil is still a lot even with that amount of stuff to account for

One of my most wanted animals that I want to come back from extinction. There’s just something so interesting about them.
We're probably gonna clone one in our lifetimes.
@@kakahass8845 I heard that they’re subjects for cloning. But why is cloning extinct animals harder than alive animals?
Why tho? It's literally the marsupial equivalent to canids. So much so that the skulls are almost identical.
Not to mention the fact that their extinction was the result of fearmongering caused by people deliberately spreading misinformation about the animal attacking livestock
@theangrysuchomimus5163 well they are a unique species for a marsupial. Both male and females have pouches, could rear up on their hind legs for a better view, open its jaw 80 degrees wide, and they make yip yap calls. I just find it's speacial features interesting, if you don't that's fine too
I do like the idea of Tasmanian tigers living somewhere in Australia, it’s a lot more believable and more realistic than a dinosaur living somewhere in the African jungle
The first thing I noticed was the crystalizing effect when I saw an image on a post and immediately knew it was fake.
These types of videos are so amazing. There's just something about James storytelling and breakdown that makes it so soothing and easy to follow.
I know this has nothing to do with the video but I like to think that Godzilla is a turtle that was sick of eating straws and evolved just to cause terror for feeding him straws
Also let’s not forget Forest ran in front of the researcher (who spent his life trying to find the last fernandina Galapagos tortoise) to grab the tortoise and say he himself found it. He’s just not a good guy. The thylacine is absolutely edited photos of Archesuchus’s thylacine puppet. You can even see seam lines. They were not used with Archesuchus’s permission however

I love that people are bringing attention to stuff like this, trying to see if a species is extinct to try to protect it, but hoaxes just arent helpful, and instead just make every video just seem like a clickbait hoax.
Its like trying to prove the existance of an endangered species by catching it in a bear trap. Sure, maybe you found it, but you caused a lot of harm to find it, and ended up maiming the creature anyways.
Forrest has lost all credibility especially when he steals credit from other people's discoveries like serigo from Colombia he had rediscovered the caiman already and Forest promised to donate money for Sergios caiman research for helping Forrest with the episode but he never did
He has done almost everyone dirty he has dealt with regarding rare animals. And fabricates information to make it seem like animals have been missing at longer than he says.

Hey Beaves. Im a Tasmanian and ive been watching you for years. First youtuber i ever liked and still my favourite
Tbf he has found previously thought to be extinct animals like most recently the javan tiger well helped find
So the thing is: that isn't actually true. A lot of the animals he 'rediscovered' were either never thought to be extinct, weren't ever valid or were rediscovered by someone else years before he did. The caiman was found a year earlier by a local herpentologist and the monkey was even photographed SEVEN YEARS before Forrest 'proved' its existence. Some, like the Zanzibar leopard, are also likely not real findings, as much as it pains me to admit it, given several details in how they went looking for it don't add up at all.
The Javan tiger we can't give him credit for. People who didn't work with him discovered the evidence it might be still around. Forrest had zero impact on that discovery. Plus, there's already new evidence out that debunks the claim.
@@megadracosaurusand the caiman had already been discovered by a Colombian scientist named Sergio and he helped Forrest on that episode
@@noelramirez1551 Did he? Sergio himself doesn’t appear in the episode, unless I’m misremembering. And while Forrest made promises of funding and helping Sergio and other local zoologists, according to said zoologists, no help really came from Forrest after that. No funds, no contacts, nothing. Forrest did give Sergio some shoutouts later, but all of these only occurred after the allegiations. Sergio discovered the caiman a year before Forrest did, so Forrest’s claims of discovering it were a lie from the start. It’s why he’s actually been blacklisted to.
@@megadracosaurus it's said he helped with the episode that could be anything from showing him the areas he can find the caiman to being the middle man for making sure Forrest and his crew had everything they needed while in Colombia idk I think he cares more about the fame and recognition more than actually preserving animals
@@noelramirez1551 It’s a shame, because I feel like Forrest can and has done good things. He brought the Faroe stuff to the public eye, he went undercover in wet markets and he spoke to the US Congress about non-lethal predator control. But he has fell of in recent years. Whenever I hear about him now, he’s appearing on a podcast to discuss what animal would win in a fight, or to share some weird theories about mammoth de-extinction or Texan thylacines. Yeahhhh the “clout chasing” whataboutism falls flat here
People pointing out misinformation/disinformation =/= clout chasing. And the more people point it out as such the more people will see it and be educated by it
Everyone does it nowadays, But I won't say it is a good type of content. But I do fear that this may cause some hate towards both GamingBeaver and Forrest Galante from each fanbase of their own
@@godzillaraiden4203 given that many of Forrest’s fans are resorting to ad hominems and personal attacks, and calling out misinformation and disinformation isn’t equivalent to clout chasing for the most part. Ultimately if more people call this out for what it is then people will learn
And a word of advice for anyone reading this: do not idolize Internet personalities. This goes for Gamingbeaver AND Forrest Galante, even if the former doesn’t have some pretty problematic baggage like the latter does
From what I’ve been seeing the attacks have been one-sided
Not hard to dislike a person that takes credit for other people's work like the Galapagos tortoise he just recently gave credit to the ranger that found it and had nothing to do with the episode extinct or alive and he also took credit for the Colombian caiman a scientist named Sergio had already discovered it
I highly recommend you actually watch his show Extinct or Alive. He has found species that have been considered extinct for a long time. The guy knows what he is doing.
He’s legit.
I highly recommend you don’t confuse entertainers with researchers. Nor should you get your information from dubious tv shows.
I highly recommend you look into those claims and you'll see he took credit from other people for the Colombian caiman and Galapagos tortoise
The awkward silence after he checked the date and heard the explanation tho🤣🤣🤣
When beaver is there about animals it’s super serious
