Great upload Changy. Following from South Africa. These types of details are bang on for us in other countries as UK and Australia standards are the gold standard. Much appreciated.
Ive never in all my years on thr trowel had to wrap damps like that. On our steels over openings on padstones nhbc are happy with 2 4inch dpc underneath
I've never seen out like that before! Just some damp doubled over to act as slip plane is all we do! Still bedded on! Also have to put a cut of insulation in the web of the steel. Also David Wilson get a crane in to lift them 3800 lintels on much easier
Like the clip on cover but wrapping the lintel like that seems pointless. It looks like its galvanised for one so its already protected against the elements. And with the introduction of more materials at one intersection- steel, brick, AAC blocks and plastic all with different shrinkage and contraction qualities, increases the potential for more more movement 🤔
Don't get paid for lintels .damp. formers. Ties. Vents. Trays . Thermobate etc . And now you are saying tidy up for free in the rain . This is why you shouldn't work on house bashing sites .yet getting ripped off geezer
That damp wrap is the biggest load of bollocks I’ve ever seen, just don’t do anything, is that an nhbc idea 🤔 also, no way would I fuck about with that lintel, if there no jib on fork truck, or crane on site it ain’t going on, also thought all lintels had to be bedded on 😀 been using them Lintel soffits for years our way, can be a pain to fit on times but do look better.
nice that you want to look the hero but the rules are in place so what happened to the older heros don't happen again, too many older guys crippled by work ethic. I have been on the trowel 40 years and still working, the gang ho attitude needs to stop
Anthor good video and top work 🧱 👌 wats with the raping the damp over the steel lintel never done that before and ive been bricklayer all my life madness mate

Absolutely daft those lintels
All this HSE and they get you lifting like that
Crazy
Be interesting to see a price list from subbies of what they get paid for but tell the working man its in the price!!!!

What's the idea of putting damp under where the steel is sat? We've never had to do it like that.
Nice job Changy.
Is wrapping the lintel in DPC typical? I've not seen that before.
@@kevocos seems to be in my area
changsta whats the need in wrapping the damp round like that do you still put a tray over lintel with folded up at ends
How much do they pay you to put them on Changy ?

Do you get paid if the site screw up with the muck?
No
Looks like your plots are that good nsbc have to find something to add.
Changy why on earth don’t they get a crane in for that steel ? You should refuse to do it how would a 60 year old bricklayer manage that?
thats a small opening for a slip joint?
If you have to move steal slide on two scaffold tubes.
No room to do it that way, did you watch h the video?
Made a meal of that like

@@Nick-n1x3u I'm just saying utilise time when you can't lay
@user-hq1xj6zm5o and yes having a middle man you don't get the pay for these things
What the fuck is that dpc all about. It will condensate and draw moisture through to the inside won't it?
😂both of you put one side on at a time.😂
no formers is this from the 2010's
Your 'colleague' is no Sean (Shaun) is he....? It was like he just didn't 'comprende'.
What load of bollocks no need for that damp

Exactly! I can understand a tray above a steel but what the fux the point in wrapping the ends of it in dpc😂
Rain before 7dry buy 11

All good but I've done all the kicking off about health and safety and had the boot off sites, it's still the culture
You think that’s stupid you want to put the steels in for extensions😂 that’s child’s play what your doing😂😂
@paulrenwick6231 been there done that, but this is site work and should all be planned for
