- Widely regarded as a trailblazer and top-tier professional player in the online multiplayer game Glory, Ye Xiu is dubbed the "Battle God" for his skills and contributions to the game over the years. However, when forced to retire from the team and to leave his gaming career behind, he finds work at a nearby internet café. There, when Glory launches its tenth server, he throws himself into the game once more using a new character named "Lord Grim."
Ye Xiu's early achievements on the new server immediately catch the attention of many players, as well as the big guilds, leaving them to wonder about the identity of this exceptional player.

If I remember correctly, Ye Qiu was kicked out of his team because he wouldn't do brand sponsorships, but the anime itself was full of product placement from McDonald's. 😂
Not exactly, that is one of the reasons he was kicked.
He was kicked because their team wasnt doing good and needed someone to blame, so the captain takes the blame
And since Ye Xiu was getting old for e sports it would make sense to just put the blame on him and make him retire.
Of course him not doing any sponsorship was one of them too.
correct and also because his team wasn't winning so he had no value but the reason he didn't do brand sponsorships is because he signed up with his brothers id which was against the rules of the alliance and he also was hiding from his family when he ran away from home but now it doesn't matter cuz he signs up with his real name in the new challenger league and his family doesn't care anymore since his pro career is practically finished (he's too old)
so dipshit management with less then one braincells just throws away their best player when he was the one literally carrying his team
@@zhean7715 His team wasn't winning because they were purposely losing due to the boss telling them to lose to force him out of the team. The main reason was due to money since he didn't want to do branding.

I think this is one of those stories that are better being watched fully rather than in a recap because there is really not much tension in the story as it all plays out in the game.

This one actually has a live action adaptation as well. Rather corny and heavy on the dramatic editing, but I was glad to find it because it actually gives more of a complete/finished story

Concealing Light was incorrect about the strategy to their time (as he didn't reveal them as using a cheese mechanic).
What was impressive was that Concealing Light came up with a legit strategy which could match their cheese time.
Correction: He wasn't incorrect but his strats where just too mechanical to execute.

Otherwise it’ll be quite hard for him to start from level 1 in an old server than a new server where he can dominate dungeon record in new server with his unspecialized where unspecialized power is so damn strong during early low level
The dungeon records are (basically) the same in all servers, the speedrun times are brand new tactics surprising even for the old servers.
But yes all the "first kills/clears" (world boss and such) would never be possible and top players in the old server will always be able to clap his new account, easy (level difference and all)

He got noticed on the new server is because of the many achievements he did by first kill first clear,
And the pro player itself must had the same account server as the lord grim (though they never mention which server lord grim originally was)
@@vgforever6686 that's not true, the new servers are chances for the guilds to get new blood. As well, all the guilds look towards the new servers because they want their guilds to be at the top through the first clear and best times.

I remember first hearing about this series and watching it officially on UA-cam back in 2018 and it was so good. I’m glad to see a resurgence in interest!

This show is also loosely based on a game called Dungeon and Fighter (DNF for short) or otherwise called DFO for the western audience. Battlemage is a class option in the game. A few times in the show, the players skill icons are shown. They are identical to the icons used in DNF

Wow I never once thought about it. Seeing the other class options it makes soo much sense. They even got Blade master, striker, brawler, ghost blade, witch and some other classes in the show too.

Talking about how the silver weapon mechanic is the most complicated but the most customizable, but also the most expensive, with a chance to lose it completely everytime its upgraded

Common, rare, legendary
And "Silver" rarity weapons are just a different catagory, because players have to make them by themselves completely,
the design, how they work, it's almost to the point you have to be a programmer.
It why most people don't bother with them.
Sometimes if you don't know what you're doing, the weapon is junk, but if you are a pro then the weapon will be better than anything that can randomly drop.
So the silver rarity denotes the fact there's no way to properly tell players if the "silver rarity" is good or bad, as each one is unique.
@@Spoopball Indeed, like in PoE (Path Of Exile) Rare (Yellow) grade equip are more sought after for end game player due to its customizability for min maxing, rather than Orange (Unique) grade equip which normally give powerful states from get go locked on specific default stats it provides.
@@Mezoflation please don't talk about PoE, I've seen clips of people rerolling stats and enchants for over 2 hours trying for the God roll, and talking about all the mats they've burning, like hundreds or thousands of IRL equivalent dollars.
I'm glad I was a noob and never went that far into the self-crafting. I usually just made a minion build and took it to the end of the seasonal content
@@Spoopball That's part of most (loot) games though, endless grind for the perfect gear, but at some point you're just talking 1-5% increase and no content is locked from you if you got slightly less than ideal. (Unless maybe going for world records / speed runs.) Gotta have that carrot.

one of my most favorite but heavily under-rated animes
#1 player in that game has to REstart from zero. And it wasn't a true zero restart either. The silver weapon that he uses was already pre-developed on a baseline and waiting in storage for him to retrieve. He and his friend (who died in the past) designed the weapon together.
The anime is Quanzhi Gaoshou in Chinese, or The King's Avatar in English.
It's an amazing anime, and I really hope they continue it. It was very well done.

Excellent Era won 3 consecutive world-champion wins but were on a slump because the guild leader was recruiting marketable players instead of excellent players. Unwilling to admit that the failure was due to him, the guild leader put the blame on Ye Qiu, and after a brief investigation (in which disgruntled members like Liu Hao supported the idea) Ye Xiu was given the choice to retire for at least 1 year or transfer to a training position. Taking the L, Ye Qiu used the time to recruit promising players. In the anime they create the 'Happy Guild', but in the Live Action adaptation the internet cafe is called 'Happy' and the guild is called 'Joyful Flourish'.
Where did you get this info? Because it's wrong. Guild leader has nothing to do with player recruitment, for example.

He convinced Liu Hao and others to throw the matches so that he'd have a reason to replace Ye Xiu with a player, Sun Xiang, who was willing to market himself and the character, One Autumn Leaf, for the club's benefit. Ultimately, he sells the club and moves to America where he becomes a 'shop owner'.

Watching this I was blown away by the Chinese animation. The battles were insane
You know I used to take Chinese class. It was hard. But it was fun because the teacher was fun. Definitely was fun. But I can't really just imagine Chinese anime. Because I am a guy who watches anime in japanese so I am too used to Japanese voice actors. But You know.. This recap definitely got me hooking. So I am going to watch this masterpiece.

well honestly imo back then chinese anime is on par with some japanese anime. but nowadays most of the chinese anime is in 3d and let me tell you, its suck. they have great storyline, but horrible visual/graphic

One of the few legit good chinese animes, i didnt watch season 2 cause it was broadcasting when it came up on kissanime when it existed, and forgot about it, that first season was fun, and seeing a good op mc thats not boring to watch.

I'm glad I was introduced to the live action first even though I still need to finish it. Didn't even know this had an animated series. It's very consistent to what I saw in the LA. If I missed or got anything wrong I would love to know. MMOs, Jrpgs, and rpgs are my bread and butter so it vibes with me 😌

Season 2 was different in animation style because of the studio change and season 3 got delayed due to the movie, s3's trailer is on YT and maybe we'll get a s3 by 2023 maybe

Criminally underrated Esport Anime, can't understand why people sleep so hard on this one
cuz people dont feel comforatable branching out from mainstream japanese shows. not a single person I've tried to turn ono this watched it. I've told like 10 different people.
there's also a season 2 if you guys dont know and it's also epic as hell. but i recommend that you watch the OVAs first before proceeding to Season 2. my brother and i love this rare gem of a chinese anime. would really recommend 10/10

I recommend watching King's Avatar but watch it from a certain perspective. Imagine how the players are playing their characters in First-person view as shown in the anime. Most mmos are played in third person view which gives more valuable information and a better view of the area especially for pvp and boss fights. while first person you have to constantly move your camera and listen for audio prompts. the mmo in king's avatar is first person perspective so when the pros were surprised on something it due to it no longer being in practices or not as common. pros on stage desire is to win the tournament but also secure a future by playing flashy and respectful to the audience. That's why so many players call the main character shameless for how efficient and how freewill he is due to not being dedicated to guild that represents the pro teams. Additionally, its mentioned by people who plays the game. In the pro league the normal audience wouldn't really understand the value of what he's doing and its not visually flashy or honorable.
Imagine being a veteran player from the main server going to the 10th server and there a player who's playing the game differently but more efficient that actual pros are using smurf accounts to break records or practice/pk against him.
it's a great show and I encourage reading the light novel its already completed. Its was a amazing read and so many shameless things that happened that made me laugh.

The anime one is quite ok as far as the story progress though they cut some detail but at least the anime adaptation is not as bad as the live action
