    I just tried it in Dharma, and utilising part of your strategy it can even be easier. Considering your vassals outnumber the first war, just detach a group of 2 units and give it your general. Then use the neat little button that allows them to stack on that army.
    Subsequently start beating the enemies in the war, and dont care about attrition or fights that might give you alot of losses, since it is your vassals menpower anyways.
    Now when you have can demand 100% warscore, just grab as much cores as you can + Humiliate Ajam.
    Think i peaced out within 4-5 years or so, and all my vassals had 24% liberty desire at best even though my original ruler died.
    The extra territory that instantly cores + the massive attrition + 200 relationships you have is more than enough to last you to 1454.
    Hell i even had time to get my relationships with the ottomans and instantly get an alliance after the war, sure you bleed some diplo points, but its only icing on the very juicy cake.

    Correction, leader being assigned to an army increases death chances aswell. Just less than them participating in siege/battle. So no, try to avoid having your ruler/heir assigned to an army unless you really have to or want them dead.

    Love the video Arumba. Timurids have a cool start now, and can be a very fun coutnry to play. Fully agree on Lenient Taxation, it's basically a must as the Timurids in the start. The point at which the initial ruler dies is very significant in determining how smooth or how rocky the Timurid start goes. The first few times I did Timurid after they were changed out from being a horde he lived for long enough to make it a breeze, but the most recent time he died just months after declaring war on Ajam and thus all my subjects had not lost troops in the war yet and I was forced to develop in them to keep them loyal enough to the 10 minute mark. It hurt, but since you are developing your own cores you do get that development without paying annexation cost for it too.

After the set up, play it out for like an hour and edit it to show the results. Or at least do like a time-skip where we see you actually integrate everyone. I'm wondering about the focus setting for your subjects. I've found that Siege rarely works, as they don't besiege/occupy provinces, but Aggressive does just that instead, but they never "seek out" combat, as per the tooltip. Are these settings bugged, or are there some hidden factors that I'm missing? Basically, if I want my subjects to occupy territory and besiege fortresses, I have to set them to Aggressive. If I set them to Siege, they don't seem to do anything in particular (similar to No Focus). Is it just me?

    This relies too heavily on Shah Rukh not dying in the first 2-3 years which is too unreliable. 90% of the time he dies within the first year and there is no way you'll get your vassals in check in such a short amount of time.

    Or, you know, you could just ally the Ottomans and Dehli and a few others around you. The only vassal that would be rebellious after your guy dies would be transoxiania, in 1954 you can insta diplo annex Fars and Sistan which will drop the transoxiania below 50. Btw, the mamluks can't support your subjects independence because they can't reach them. And if you ally the ottomans no one around you that could reach your subjects would dare support them against your alliance.

    I tried this run a few months ago and consistently my ruler died during the first war vs. Ajam, wrecking my game... Then I tried the easy way... allying Ottomans. Enven after monarch death, the subjects wont declare on you. In the meantime you can make stronger, integrate de smaller ones, reducing disloyalty in the others. A bit rough, buy super simple.

    Anyone have any suggestions for forming the Mughals? I am allied with Mewar and Janpur, but Delhi has 4 (2 of whom have force limits around 20) allies. I usually don’t like declaring wars unless Me and my allies have at least 1.5x the troops that our enemy has.

  • @bwcbiz
    @bwcbiz 6 років тому

    Does war-weariness affect the liberty desire calculation (or at least their willingness to act on that desire)? This would only apply if your leader dies late. Also, is there a different tipping point than 10 years if your leader survives longer? Or is it just a question of being able to build up more resources for the 10 year mark?

  • @cyrclack5616
    @cyrclack5616 5 років тому

    The strategy is rather simple imo
    Circle between conquests while meanwhile fabricating, be always at war and improve relations with Fars, try all you can to get him specifically loyal
    After ten years peace out and annex Fars, some vassals (not Transoxiana though, screw Transoxiana) will be less rebellious, continue the war circle, improve, annex, at some point all your vassals will behave
    You can stop, annex, and relax for a moment before again getting some new vassals in Arabia and India
    Then go and grace the world with that beautiful Dark Green

  • @xvrhumournoir7144
    @xvrhumournoir7144 6 років тому

    You really don't need to destroy your vassals that much, especially if you are going to keep one or two around as fighting dogs later on. Just do the war against Ajam, while fabricating claims on Baluchistan and/or Hormuz. Stay at war for ten years. Start by integrating Afganistan (the only one which have a province u don't already own as a core, so the only not instantaneous one, and the one that opens the door to India). On the last month of Afganistan integ, annex Transox and Fars as well. And roll over the world.
    A good strat is to ally Bengal and/or Bahmanis, and go for Delhian provinces, become Minghals. Then go north-west and form Russia. It will give you a lot of claims, and once you are done with a mission tree, just get another one.

  • @Azsunes
    @Azsunes 6 років тому

    Tried this strategy and if your ruler dies at start of war before you bleed any money they stay to strong to ever get below 50% I also had neg prestige events so could never placate and losing money since no vassals paying for my stuff. So I feel he needs to live long enough that they waste their troops and have a low balance.

    Am I the only one who finds this tutorial super unnecessary? I don't see why people claim the Timurids are difficult or hard to manage. Invade Ajam day one. Get full force limit. Wait around and then use all your diplomats to annex as many vassals at once as possible.

    for some reason i can't annex ayone until 1454. why is this?

    • @donkpazar
      @donkpazar 4 роки тому

      You can’t annex a vassal until 10 years after the game start/ when they get vassalized. This is is to prevent vassals from being immediately integrated.

    I actually did a Timurids>Mughals game a few months ago. I was constantly taking cores from my vassals until they got to the point where they couldn't rebel, and if they did they were easily crushed. It worked well for me but the war or two that I had weren't optimal. Still, it worked for me and I had a good time.

      i did a timurids->Yuan->mughals run, all those sweet, sweet permanent claims were fuckin' delicious, quickly turned into an attempt to WC. which, to be fair, are most of my games

    I think you can also get trust with your vassals by killing rebels in their lands

    Question, what should I do with religion? Convert Shia? Leave them be? What about like a 100 years after. I already survived the start date. Dunno what to do With all the Shia. I left it and got humanist. But optimally what would you do with the religion?

    • @arumba
      @arumba  6 років тому +2

      Convert shia, keep every other religious group IMO. Shia can't be assigned to the Dhimmi, and it's hard to get high tolerance of heretics without going for a specific idea group to earn it. The Dhimmi are my favorite estate in the game, so I never convert if I have access to them.

      Ekin il Valentino You don't need him to survive at all, it's quite easy to keep the subjects Liberty desire down without him

      I think its because people find it too painful to let some of their vassals go. You can let transoxiana go and that will lower the other subjects liberty desire but you essentially let go of a subject you could have potentially instantly annexed and people hate that.
