Richard Thompson really always deserved far more notoriety as a guitarist and songwriter than he ever got. I was very happy to see him when he played in Santa Rosa, CA back in 1996, on a rare tour.
Saw him in Princeton at McCarter Theatre years ago I could have sworn their was three guitar players playing just amazing how Richard plays and what amazing song
@papadukes6104 - saw him recently at Brighton (England) and when we got up to leave the woman behind me said the same - he sounded like three players - well two maybe, I thought!! He was, as usual, unbelievably good - and having Zara Phillips there to sing with him made it even better.
This song is number #1 for all time plays on WUMB radio station of my alma mater University of Massachusetts Boston. Quite a feat given that it's the undisputed greatest station with members world wide and supported 95% by contributions from loyal listeners. Ultra Great Badass Goddess Cheryl Wheeler is #1 all time played on the station ahead of Dylan!!! Saw you once in Ipswich, MA Cheryl and yelled that news fact out loud and you said: thanks' though I'm sure you 'knew' as all Ultra Great Badass Goddesses do. They just do as I'm blessed and 'given to know' by my bad ass Goddess advisors. Kisses sweet Cheryl. Also drank with you and Ultra Great Badass Archangel Peter Wolf at 'Lizard Lounge' in North Cambridge, MA. I drank Jameson's after 2 years sober, passed out on the sidewalk in 40 degree temps without a coat. I could not move in my own vomit and finally started yelling 'help!!!'as loud as I could until after 45 minutes someone came down in a bathrobe and called an ambulance that took me to the hospital for $1200 as it turns out. Later I said: "why didn't you call me a cab?" Thanks Peter and Cheryl I'd do it all over again for a chance to sing and laugh with you. Kisses. Arthur
No I won't I'm advised by my Goddess superiors I'm sober for life I think although something could happen in Dublin and Belfast if Conor Macgregor is arouund.. Sorry. Kisses anyway. Arthur
One of the best songs ever. Period.

This boy owns it….every note of it. Beautifully done!
Extraordinary musical talent right there. I love the song, Richard’s voice and his guitar playing. 👍👍🇨🇦

Saw him a few years back at the Keswick in PA. Phenomenal guitarist. Needless to say, he got a standing ovation for this song
wow wow..
Excellent
Just superb 🤗😊
this man is a national treasure
Are you a Brit?
@@J-Lo7218 why?
@@waynewanderer When you said he's a national treasure, you must mean of England, right? He's not an American as I'm sure you know.
Probanly the best rendition I've seen (of many), thank you sir.
RT is the absolute best with this song . MAN i want a Vincent and a red headed girlfriend.
I think you’ll find one of those is a lot easier to come by than the other.
👍👍👍👍👍
I don't think he missed a beat on that right hand. Awesome.
Well-practiced. This version is a bit fast tempo.
Anyone know what tuning that was in???
ua-cam.com/video/DKEo1Oi_jxU/v-deo.html&ab_channel=ElixirStrings
Open C capoed at the third fret
Anyone thinking of taking up the guitar - be aware it could take literally weeks of practice before you’re able to do this
He has to be a biker!
Either that or a good bit of research to come to “Beezers”😊
