“IT MEANS OUR LIFE SUCKS.” giant mood i love her just for that one line
Oh, then yeah.
Yeah, their lives suck but they're foster kids, you know?
i love this film, seeing a little black girl with her natural hair play a happy role is just so refreshing
But when it was a white girl with curly hair she was considered ugly… why do black women get called magical for curls but not vice versa? Genuine question because as a white girl with curls no one seems to care when we get represented, but people love praising black actresses with this hair.. :((
@@user-pm5nr8zy7m are you kidding me? Black women’s hair has been shamed continuously for not fitting the white beauty standards and it was rooted in racism. They’ve literally damaged their hair so that it could be straight and fit the beauty standard. In fact, for the longest time, they were not allowed most black hairstyles in the workplace. Only recently have black women started a movement of embracing their natural hair and learned how to care for it and there is still a lot more to do. Your opinion on this is super ignorant and disgusting. Educate yourself.
@@Melanie-jy2nw "black hairstyles" you mean 4c which isn’t exclusive to the black Americans. "White beauty standards" the race with the most straight hair is Asian, not white. And "damaged"…. So is most white womens lmaooo. You really think we all have perfectly straight blonde hair?? have you ever met a white person.. every race uses heat products anyway. You don’t know what you’re talking abt and just saying sentences Twitter programmed you to say lmao npc moment
@@user-pm5nr8zy7m I hope you realize you sound very idiotic. Us black folk get put down because of our natural hair. If you haven’t noticed, a lot of black actors have had to straighten their hair to look “presentable” because our natural hair is deemed “unprofessional”. There’s not a lot of black actors, characters, etc. who wear their natural hair on a daily, but its the complete opposite for white people. Think about what you’re going to comment before commenting something this dumb. 🥰
@@user-pm5nr8zy7m girl wtf are u saying, white girls with natural hair don’t ever get called that so stop tryna play the race card jus so u can invalidate poc. Get bent and bffr

I get chills every single time 😢😢😢
Why lmaooo😊🤭 she was being mean for no reason tbh
@@alexandraanderson3988 how tf u gonna say for no reason 🤨she's the oldest ands been in the system the longest so shes lost almost all her faith and dreams of finally getting a family
Okay 👌👍 I didn't know that my bad 😕 😔 😮 but even still..... I mean there's no reason for her to be that rude and mean to her fellow age mates and group like especially that little one I feel so bad for her sometimes when she looks down and talk to her sometimes I guess never been in the foster system before but I get her frustration and disappointment 😞😥 I guess
@@javonmccovery3081 okay 🤗👍 chill.... I didn't know she's been there the longest forever but even still I feel 💖 like there's no reason for her to act all rude and mean to her fellow mates like Annie or the rest of them especially the littlest smallest one..... I forgot her name like when she called her a dummy just because she didn't know what her social security was 😒😭 but yeah I guess I understand her frustration and bitterness..... towards the system and everything else in general how it can be a failure an stuff I guess 👍💯 even though I've never actually been in the system before
In the original, annie was given up during the Great Depression to an orphanage, a place where her likely financially struggling parents could know that she’d be safe, and they did die before they could get her. In this version, they ditched her at a restaurant. They definitely are horrible people in this one.
What did they say they ditched her or left her at some restaurant I don't remember that part tbh hmmm
@@alexandraanderson3988 she sits outside there every week, her note was on the back of a receipt from there
@@ravenova5314 Ohhhhh oh yeah ok I just remembered that part that scene tbh.
they die in a car accident in this one
idk what happened to them but dead ass she forgot about them after will adopts her LMAOAO 😭🤚
Okay, it’s not an epic choreography number, but their usage of the environment to match the beat, like sorting the trash via garbage can top, was pretty cool!
What is zoe is there
@@Shakeal33 The teenager was in foster care since a child, but she grew up into a teenager and most adoptive parents look for small kids rather than big ones/teens.
So she’s been moved from foster home to foster home and has given up hope on basically being adopted. Which is why she’s more moody and not as hopeful as the younger ones (in the song).
"What should I do?"
"Pray"
"I tried and it hasn't worked yet"
Bro this kids are so savage
My favorite line, quote that one a lot. Other favorite line is, "Shouldn't we be given a couple days notice?"
for real. “It means our lives suck.” “Oh.. then yeah.”
I love this version the most because 1. The songs sound amazing she has an amazing voice with or without auto tune 2. I never really see blacked kid actresses in movies so when I watched this when it came out I was obsessed and still is
Have you even watched the 1982 version? 😂
@@emosupreem and that one is rubbish
@@moonagesirius have you even watched it?
It's WOKE garbage.
@@moonagesirius whats rubbish is this. The other version had kids singing in their REAL voices and There were more kids and spot on acrobatics. This is trash. 1982 version was better
I can see why a lot of people don’t like this version but I still think it’s pretty good in its own right or at least for younger generations
This version doesn’t have a lot of big choreography numbers, but I like how they use the natural environment and new creative tactics to match the best and make a stunning visual at the very least
Jordan Davis 19 but for Still of good
i grew up with this one so
@@gregorysb6206 I was bout to say this is one my favorites that I saw in the theater as a kid😂
This is a really good movie bt me personally I just like the old one just a little better bc it was so songs, more characters, more choreography, n all kinds of different stuff that made it so good this one is more of wat could happen in todays times making it realistic. Like the old one like miss hanagin had a thieving brother he made it really good, Daddy Warbucks had a humongous mansion and hella staff that sang and dance. It was just a little more entertaining with everything that was going on.
I grew up with the original Annie and I love this one just as much. ❤
I like this version better, I think because it's easier to relate to more modern kids.
Agreed.
Why should someone relate, when watching a story. A lot of great stories I'll never relate too, but still enjoy them.
This version is so clean, just like the others. Their apartment doesn't look like it smell of stinch, and their clothes are clean. Cameron, and even Kathy are just not believable asa bad person.
@@RKingis chill, my point was I relate to the characters more here. I find it makes a more enjoyable watch. That's just my personal opinion.
@@gurglequeen433 When I was born, there was MAYBE around 12,000-15,000 Albinos in the whole US. 99% of Albinos in movies are fake. I've never found a movie I could relate to. Many remakes are retooling characters to make them more relatable. I don't want a legally blind Albino Spider man for example.
@@gurglequeen433 I think they picked some great actors for the primary cast, and a bit weird being set in modern times, but believing Cameron Diaz as a baddy?
Awww the way Annie was taking care of Amiya the youngest....heart of Gold 😢

It's the hard-knock life for us
'Stead of treated

It's the hard-knock life
This gives so much nostalgia.
Same
My mom from way back when in the great depression knew the comic strip of "Lil Orphan Annie"--she lived through the not-so-great depression when unemployment was like 28%--she loved "Tomorrow" & I'm pretty sure, cuz she loved 2 biracial grandkids & passed before she could love triracial great-grandkids, pretty sure she loves 21st century Annie.
I strangely get nostalgia from this even though I barely remember this movie
I like the song and the presentation in both the '82 version and this version though I'd give this one the thumbs up on the sound and rhythm and the '82 version on the choreography and dynamism of the scene. All the children are cute though in both versions.
I love pepper she’s my favorite in my Annie play pepper doesent say it means are life sucks but it’s funny when she says it means are life sucks
This movie is one of my old time favorites 😊❤
the two things i found myself focusing on during hard knock life were how they were exceedingly coordinated and yet super inefficient and then that one kid kept using the oven door as a step stool and it made me cringe cause ive seen them break like that
This is my absolute favorite version because it’s more modernized and they put in a black girl which is truly showing more culture but I still love the original because she created the character
Bro no movie ever uses white people as main characters in remakes
@@Valllllllllllllllllllllllllllo incorrect

I watched this like 1000 times its so interesting
Love the little girls so much
I love all 3 versions of annie but they could've made miss hannigan meaner and given the kids more tough sorrowful lives and why were they Foster kids instead of a children's home. Apart from that good movie
Apparently there’s 4 but the 99 one is severally underrated
i def agree that Miss Hannigan could've been meaner in the movie, smth just felt off with her character in this one tbh. but my guess as to why they're in the foster system is because there's not many children's homes now, plus they probably changed it to represent kids who are in the foster system (not the story just the characters' home obvi)
Mostly because childrens homes don’t really exist anymore here - orphanages aren’t common in the US anymore, kids get tossed into foster homes. Any placement in a child’s home that does exist is so short term that there’d be no relationship between Hannigan and the orphans/foster kids - making her a foster parent fits the era they placed this film. Orphanages haven’t been a big thing in the US in nearly 6 decades.
Jordan Davis 21 From of How
@@MasochisticMaiden
Yup. With that and with how modern everything has gotten, they had to switch up the era VIA Placing it From 1933 to Present day.

I love this song Annie is so nice 🙂
Annie is the best girl in the world 👩🏽❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
This is sooooo cute
I love Annie for real
I love this film but to be honest from someone who was in a program like the foster one, but in Utah I think her life doesn’t suck because if you didn’t finish your chores in 30 minutes you got punished and if you had your hands under the tables or peed yourself (because you had to go to the bathroom with staff supervision and permission so it would take sometimes over 2 hours but if you did pee yourself ) it was considered self harm and the staff there used all this to their advantage like one beat me up so abused a minor and got away with it since there were no cameras and the staff threatened them into lying I was put into it at 12 I was there for three years and got home a year ago I cried when I got home also since both my dogs and all my grandparents and great grandparents passed while I was there and there was no outside contact so I didn’t talk to them for 2 years I could only write Letters also no electronics no summer break or any holidays off or celebrated so honestly love the movie can’t sympathize with their hate for mrs hanigan anymore I just see them as kiss that are ungrateful it’s crazy how that changed my love for the movie
OMG I was in a girls’ program in Arizona in early 07. I know a lot about the programs in Utah. Which one did you go to?

So doing chores is a hard knock life , this aint a hard knock life compared to the Annie 1982 film.
It’s bc Mrs. Hannigan is such a mean drunk who basically does it for the money.
I’m pretty sure it’s because they don’t have parents and Ms. Hannigan doesn’t really care about them at all, only the money. Ms. Hannigan doesn’t treat them nicely and nobody wants to adopt them.
