Lightsaber Hilts by Master Sen Dorrin

Although Doctor Who is my most favorite sci fi; my big three are rounded out with Star Trek and Star Wars. I'm one of those old farts that will happily point out that "I was there when it all started" because I was. A few weeks shy of my seventh birthday I got to see Star Wars the week it first came to theaters and I've been in love with it ever since.
With my sonic screwdriver collecting taking a back seat for a bit, I've been very happily engaged in the lightsaber building and customizing community. Companies like Blue Bul's Outer Rim Saber Parts provide plenty of options for VHC (Variable Hilt Component) saber builds. As much as having replicas is fun and satisfying, having an original and unique variation on the theme is so much more personal to me. You've seen my custom sonics among my replicas, did you think it would be any different with something with as many cool examples of personalization as a lightsaber? ;-)
Here we have two examples of the custom work of Master Sen Dorrin. One is totally from his workshop and one is a beautiful example of his customization work that he also offers.
The hilt with the blue wrapped grip started out life is a Saber Forge Eco. Sen sanded off a lot of the blackening, added aged copper, altered the emitter, and added accent pieces to make this a very eye catching and unique hilt. He has also replaced the standard electronics that came with the SF eco with a modern core and bass boosted speaker. Every color the RGB can provide and multiple preloaded sound and effect fonts to choose from.
The other hilt, with the word "Master" written in Aurebesh on the grip, is a piece from his workbench that I simply had to have. Solid built for dueling, modern light and sound core like described above, plenty of visual interesting details and yet totally comfortable in the hand. As someone who has been swinging a sword for decades I have to say the balance and solidity of this hilt make it a perfect dueler and twirler.
