This video has been great because I learned most of your loves have jasmine in them. And I hate jasmine 😢. On my skin it smells like cat pee, which is a shame because it’s in so many fragrances that otherwise sound incredible. I feel like I’m alone in this struggle! Video series idea: 2-3 loves and hates for fragrances that have a unifying note. Or even just one done well and one done poorly for each common note. Like cedar wood, patchouli, orange blossom, etc. That would be so helpful! Maybe there’s a best case scenario jasmine out there for even me?!
I always love your videos! And, I know you didn't ask, but if at all possible, if you could put the name of the scent on the screen when you are talking about it, I would find that most helpful. I'm hard of hearing and have to go back a few times to catch the name (and the closed captions don't always work 100%)...but maybe I'm not that knowledgeable about scents and their bottles when you are just holding them up...
I think I’m like one of about 3 people that like Aura by Mugler. The bottle is like the key to the Emerald City. It’s just gorgeous. That said, I can see why people don’t like it. It is thick, heavy, and green. And honestly when do you even wear a heavy, thick, green fragrance?? Idk. But yet and still… I love her lol coconut palms by Mix Bar was a fail for me. It just doesn’t smell good with my chemistry. It got seriously powdery old lady on me. A spin on this video that I thought would be cool….Fave/least fave from 5 niche brands, designed brands, and/or celebrity fragrance houses.
I am early so I want to tell you how much I love your videos! My fav was when you matched bottles to to a scene. It adds so much work for you, but I hope you do another mood match soon.
I am having a lil nose procedure in a few weeks. It’s to correct a narrowing on the right side of nose and low air flow. All I deal w is a continuing running dripping nose. I can’t wait to actually smell all this stuff correctly in a few weeks!!! Few months ago I bought that sample pack from Mix Bar and it was so nice!! You get to try a bunch of them and so affordable. The vanilla bourbon is so good!!! I have some Coconut Palm left! Time to use that up! 😊. Yes, that’s great too.
I just had the thought to come on here and find a video of yours to fall asleep to and here you are coming in clutch! Thank you so much Lauren, for all that you do💜
I love aura, it works really well with my skin chemistry and the dry-down smells like luxury fabric softener on me (similar vibes to the new Libre le Parfum on me) but it absolutely doesn’t work for everyone 😂 it’s such a weird little perfume, I’m surprised Mugler kept it in their line for as long as they have
Have you ever tried anything from Sucreabeille? I think they have some incredibly interesting scents (two faves are Book Witch and Death Unicorn). But they describe their scents just like you: by painting a word picture.
Coconut Palm is my favorite coconut fragrance and I have like 9-10! It’s amazing. The combo of coconut with salt is mouth watering to me for some reason.
For hates, top on my list would be Lattafa Raghba, which I was so disappointed in closely followed by Black Opium (sickeningly sweet, gave me a headache every time), and then I guess it would be Good Girl (tries too hard to be loud and sexy, but my hubby said it smelled like a scented candle), and I don't think I hate any of my other fragrances. I have a pretty good track record of blind buying stuff. Fragrances I am loving right now include Guess Seductive Red (I guess it is a cherry take on the BR540/cloud family of scents, never smelled those, but I love how it never smells overwhelming but lasts all day on my skin), Guess Seductive Kiss (grapefruit and wildflowers, makes me think of a clean girl in a sundress), Franck Olivier Oud Vanille (lovely unisex rosy vanilla-y oud), Britney Spears Rocker Femme Fantasy (creamier less sharp version of the original Fantasy), and I fell in love with the dry down of a Indy handmade fragrance called Victorian Ghosts by the etsy shop Tater Rounds Beauty (cedar, cloves, and Smokey vanilla are the notes that stand out the most to me in that one. It was my Halloween fragrance, and towards the end of the night, I kept sniffing and thinking what is that amazing smell!).
I ended up trying Burberry Her based on your description even though you didn't like it, lol. I really love it! That berry-cherry combo in the top notes reminds me of the swirl Icee that I like to get at the movies, but like an elevated and way classier version. I did end up finishing my sample & upsizing!
I don’t love coconut scents anymore the older I get, but I accidentally sprayed coconut palm on myself in target thinking it was whipped almond and it was BEAUTIFUL!
I love scent Sundays!! I just picked up This Is Her! I’m pretty sure I snagged a sample bottle for cheap. It sounds like something I’ll really enjoy. I know you aren’t a fan of straight up salt notes, but I gotta say I really like Salt Air. But I also love Beach Walk from Replica, and grew up near the beach. It’s nostalgic for me I think. Thank you for sharing these videos with us- they’re so calming. 😊
Mix bar has a couple hidden gems and for the price.....oooffff so good. Blackberry tonic, cloud Musk and vanilla burbon....are worth a try also. I don't love Burberry her either. But i have been really digging the her Elixir, it doesn't have the screetchy-ness of the orig from the berries and its more lactonic, blended a but better maybe. I sniffed it on a whim and was surprised at how much I enjoy it since I don't like the original on me.
We have very similar fragrance taste! I am with you with Burberry Her. Everyone raves about it & I’m over here like 🤢🤮 I loveeee Boardwalk Delight & Coconut Palm! Idk if you watch SML, but the first fragrance from her fragrance brand is releasing this coming week and I am intrigued! The scent description sounds so promising! It’s definitely on my list to purchase.
My husband always comments when I wear This Is Her! It is very yummy. I had Burberry Her Intense, and to me it smelt like that cheap strawberry ice cream sundae sauce, and it was overwhelming to wear
One of my hates is Ariana Grande Cloud. ☹️ I want to love it because when I see the notes and people describe it, it sounds just wonderful. Comforting, creamy, light, sweet, airy. But when I smell it, I get cold newspaper or wet cement. I get the smell when you turn your furnace on for the first time in winter and it's a bit of burnt dust. I get mildew, but not wet, it's dry and sharp. When people say this is sweet, I wonder "where?!". Honestly, very puzzling to me, every time I try to smell it and love it.
Me tooooo!!! Except for me it smells like a hospital in the worst possible way. I get 0 sweetness and 0 creaminess. So disappointing lol I wanted to love it so much but it just makes me feel like I’m losing my mind 😂
Loves: Replica By the Fireplace, Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille, Boyfriend by Kate Walsh (rollerball version), Skylar Vanilla Sky and Fall Cashmere, Philosophy Fresh Cream Warm Cashmere. Hates: everything overly strong or floral, including many classic perfumes. Give me all the vanilla/Amber/woody/leathery scents! I’m definitely going to check out Mix Bar and Zadig & Voltaire.
My loves at the moment (if you would ask me again in two months, the answer may be different) By the fireplace by maison Margiela L'imperatrice by Dolce and Gabbana Essentric Molecules 3 Kayali Vanilla 28 My hates (they are more timeless, I will hate these forever) Ange ou Demon by Givenchy Alien by Mugler Nomade by Chloe A fragrance by Mont Blanc, I forgot the name, it was in a white bottle. Suppressed that one I guess
I love how different people's opinions are with fragrance. Thank u next is my favorite from Ariana and I really don't like cloud. Cloud reminds me of like Hollister stores back in the day. It isn't sweet to me.
lauren, pls, go to lush and smell their sticky dates shower gel. it is so vanilla sandalwood sweet and so good... I think you would enjoy it. got it the other day and it is so amazing
So I finally got to smell Vanilla Milk today and listen, I get the hate-but I cannot get over how closely it resembled the buttered vanilla noodles my mom used to make me when I was really sick as a kid to cure nausea. Just straight vanilla extract, butter, cinnamon sugar, and that’s it. I was taken to such a specific place that I think I’m circling back around to liking it? Lol it can’t get more niche
I’ve been part of the Skylar Scent Club for a while but even though I like their scents I never find myself reaching for them. I just don’t like rollerballs I guess. Plus longevity seems to be an issue with a lot of their fragrances. Now they’re charging $5 more for shipping every month and I just can’t see myself staying in the club. $25 for a rollerball that I probably won’t use is just throwing money away. Thanks for the video. 😊
Lauren did you see the new Ellis Brooklyn Apres bundle at Sephora? The travel spray and full sized bottle are bundled for the price of the big bottle alone so if you want to stock up or gift it might be worth a look. I'm actually in Canada and somehow here the bundle is ALSO $105 so you get the bundle for less than the price of the big bottle alone ($134 CAD), VERY worth the pick-up for Canadians! I was also excited that they finally brought the Kayali sampler to Sephora. Been wanting to try them out but they are online only and there was no good sampler option except the always-out-of-stock on on their website! :)
It’s so interesting because I agree with you on ALL of your fragrance preferences lol our noses are almost the same. Except somehow I hate BR540 🙈 I can’t stand something that is in it and it’s the same quality that comes through on all the “dupes” lol I wish I could figure out what it is
Lauren, I recently discovered you, and I can tell you right now that your fragrance reviews are some of my favorites, and I've watched many. During my binge watching, I came across your fig scent video, and if you haven't tried it, you should get your nose on Fichi e Panna by Kyse Perfumes. I am in no way affiliated with Kyse, but she has some great ones out there and her fig scent is one of the best I've owned or tried. Just wanted to make that suggestion...chances are you'll find others that spark your interest. Luckyscent is now carrying some Kyse, but her own site has more of a selection.
I feel like as far as popular in the scent community scents I can’t with is Delina by Parfums De Marly. It turns into soapy rose on me and I have to get it off. I wore my sample twice and both times I had the same reaction. Yuck. Rose soap. Now loves, I am so into (of course baccarat, practically goes without saying) Intense Cafe from Montale. It’s also rose heavy but somehow does not do the gross rose thing on me. It is dreamy. Not sure if you’ve tried it but it’s great. Very vanilla
I don't get along with Burberry Her, I understand what people love for a few minutes then it turns into a cough syrup on my skin. I do love coconut palm. My favorite coconut scent in coconut cove by Skylar. I can't get enough of it and I feel like not many people appreciate it the way I do.
I hate Lovefest Burning Cherry by Kayali, Sunny Side Up from Juliet Has A Gun (I know you love it but it is a scrubber for/on me I just smell sawdust and pickles lol), Electric Wood from Room 1015 (it has a strong almost ammonia/urine scent in there with the burning wood smell for me and I don’t like it lol). I love Angel’s Share By Killian, CK Everyone, Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue, and even though it’s a summer scent I got Solar Aura by Deck of Scarlet in my Scentbird last month and I really am liking it a lot currently. And I have a love/hate relationship with Baccarat Rouge. I hate the medicinal notes but beyond that there is something about it I love.
I personally hate all higher cost perfume brands because I hate the smell of Vanilla, amber, musk, wood, and for some reason thats what they all smell like. My faves are Mac Turquatic & Victoria secret Bombshell.
I own Aura and I get a lot of mint from it. It isn't my favorite in my collection. Another fragrance you may like is Garden by Dolce and Gabbana. It sounds like it would be a flower garden, but it has a beautiful coconut to it.
I just got samples of the original Lolita Lempicka fragrance and Sweet by Lolita Lempicka. The original is SO heavy on the licorice (at least on my skin), I can't take it 😭But Sweet is delicious! One of the first cherry fragrances I've tried, I think I'll need to try more now!
I didn’t realize they were doing that sale so I didn’t pick anything up! I am not super familiar with their older scents! That is awesome you were amble to snag such a deal!!
Oh I totally agree about Aura…it’s just weird as a perfume. I don’t know who that smells good on. To me it smells just like the green aftershave at Dollar Tree 💁🏻♀️ The minty vanilla combo is unsettling to my stomach lol.
I love most of the Skylar scents but they do not last on me at all. Literally put it on and an hour later it’s gone. I know everyone’s different but it’s too expensive for it to not last.
I don’t love or hate Salt Air, but I legit can’t stand Boardwalk Delight! I was sooooo disappointed. I was expecting to love it, but all I can smell is soap from a public restroom.
Maybe you mean the strawberry is synthetic? Cos to me it’s the strawberry of of all strawberry flavours sweets . The smell of strawberry skittles or starburst with a baccaratish Ambroxan dry down
Santal 33 has such a heavy dill note to me that it straight smells like pickles :(. God is a Woman though, I smelled it once and wasn't impressed. Tried it again a few months later and immediately bought a bottle and wore it almost every day this summer.
I felt the same about midnight fantasy, except the blueberry muffin doll instead. I love it for at home, but I'm not sure I want to go out smelling like a doll to most places.
See I do not like at all this is her. I got it from scentbird and I was so excited but to me it just smells powdery. And I totally think thank u next smells like pickles hahaha
Someone gave me a bottle of Michael kors Sexy Ruby. It is total BARF-aroni. It’s so fakey fake heavy old lady perfume from the 80s. It’s gross, I hate it. Now, Kilian Angel Share? Absolutely delicious, my new favorite❤️
This video has been great because I learned most of your loves have jasmine in them. And I hate jasmine 😢. On my skin it smells like cat pee, which is a shame because it’s in so many fragrances that otherwise sound incredible. I feel like I’m alone in this struggle!

I also love and have Aura edp. It’s great in the summer!
I am early so I want to tell you how much I love your videos!
My fav was when you matched bottles to to a scene.
It adds so much work for you, but I hope you do another mood match soon.
Z&V This Is Her is one of my favorite perfumes I cannot imagine being without it 🥰
Z&V This is Her is one of my favourites too Xx

Same! It’s after midnight and I’m anxious

Hi Lauren, would you consider doing a video of your favourite cruelty free/vegan perfumes? I would love that ❤️ x
I’d love a video on longest lasting perfumes!
I love your precise descriptions of each fragrance!👃😍 You describe fragrance better than any other content creator I've come across on YT👍
I love basil, but I have not yet found a basil fragrance that I love.
I still adore Zadig & Voltaire this is her, too.
I ended up trying Burberry Her based on your description even though you didn't like it, lol. I really love it! That berry-cherry combo in the top notes reminds me of the swirl Icee that I like to get at the movies, but like an elevated and way classier version. I did end up finishing my sample & upsizing!
Amazing job describing the scents!
I’m a one-perfume person but I love your scent Sunday videos
Have you tried Skylar Lilac Wisp? I think it’s my new favorite 🎉
I don’t love coconut scents anymore the older I get, but I accidentally sprayed coconut palm on myself in target thinking it was whipped almond and it was BEAUTIFUL!

I loooove the this is her! Zara has a dupe that is called Fields at Nightfall and it lasts a looot on the skin too!!

I think I would love Salt Air, I love salty, ocean scents, I love beach walk from Replica
Have you tried Rihanna Reb’l fleur? I hate that perfume with all my heart
Fresh Cream by Philosophy is my favorite of all time-partly because of that slightly funky dairy undertone 😂
I never knew Summer Fridays had perfumes! I will be on the look out for them!
My husband always comments when I wear This Is Her! It is very yummy.
I had Burberry Her Intense, and to me it smelt like that cheap strawberry ice cream sundae sauce, and it was overwhelming to wear

Beach fragrances are the kinda thing where I love them on other people or in a light candle. Not on me though, can’t do D&G light blue.

My hates (they are more timeless, I will hate these forever)
Ange ou Demon by Givenchy
Alien by Mugler
Nomade by Chloe
A fragrance by Mont Blanc, I forgot the name, it was in a white bottle. Suppressed that one I guess
I would love to see a best affordable fragrance video! I can’t afford 80$+ right now but want a good fragrance that isn’t a body spray…
I love how different people's opinions are with fragrance. Thank u next is my favorite from Ariana and I really don't like cloud. Cloud reminds me of like Hollister stores back in the day. It isn't sweet to me.

I’m looking forward to the full size of boardwalk delight as well. I also liked the latest scent

I mix Coconut Palm with Phluid’s Humanity (the yellow one), which also has coconut notes. It’s a dream pairing 🌴

Love: Alien, Vanilla 28, The Only One, Narciso Rouge, Coffee Break

I am obsessed with Vanilla Vibes from Juliette Has a Gun and I haven’t seen you mention it, I don’t think? Would love to know your thoughts .

Please do a video about K Beauty fragrances! I have two from A'Pieu that are amazing.
Totally agree about Burberry Her. I want to love it but I can't deal with how the berries come across.
I feel like as far as popular in the scent community scents I can’t with is Delina by Parfums De Marly. It turns into soapy rose on me and I have to get it off. I wore my sample twice and both times I had the same reaction. Yuck. Rose soap.

Yes I always get specifically menthol from Aura. I'm still not sure how I feel about it
I hate Salt Air too. It reminds me of sweat. 😩 It's probably triggering a scent memory .
Oh thanks for the info-I HATE licorice. Like 🤢. Nope. No. Now I’m going to have my radar up for basil. Appreciate the warning!
I LOVE THIS VIDEO!!! SAVING MONEY FOR THEM, AND SAVING THE VIDEO FOR FURTHER REFERENCE
I wanna try skylar n summer fridays
Yay! Been waiting for this!!!
Mugler angel muse is one of my favorites
Me too! And I was so surprised because I really don’t like Angel.
@@nateelliot oh that's interesting! I will have to smell angel then.
Hi Lauren! Did you pick up anything from Phlur’s sale of 75% off their classic scents? I got Moab and hepcat.
I didn’t realize they were doing that sale so I didn’t pick anything up! I am not super familiar with their older scents! That is awesome you were amble to snag such a deal!!
I feel like you would have loved the discontinued funfair evening from Maison Martin margiela replica
How would you compare This is Her to Commodity Milk? I've heard a couple people say they are similar.
I think they are similar enough that you don't need both of them.
Also kinda not related but the new apple fig Red Bull I feel could be a perfume
I love Ariana grande thank u next, to me it smells like mango. Just shows how personal fragrance is
I would like your opinion for a great sandlewood hair perfume
I love Aura 😍
For me it's Swiss Arabian Shaghaf Oud. I had to wash it off. I also didn't enjoy PdM Athalia and Florabotanica
I don't like cloud and I bought the big bottle because how everyone went mad about it maybe I will like the thankyou next lol 😂
Oh I totally agree about Aura…it’s just weird as a perfume. I don’t know who that smells good on. To me it smells just like the green aftershave at Dollar Tree 💁🏻♀️ The minty vanilla combo is unsettling to my stomach lol.
Your make up tho 💗💗
I love most of the Skylar scents but they do not last on me at all. Literally put it on and an hour later it’s gone. I know everyone’s different but it’s too expensive for it to not last.
I don’t love or hate Salt Air, but I legit can’t stand Boardwalk Delight! I was sooooo disappointed. I was expecting to love it, but all I can smell is soap from a public restroom.

Santal 33 has such a heavy dill note to me that it straight smells like pickles :(. God is a Woman though, I smelled it once and wasn't impressed. Tried it again a few months later and immediately bought a bottle and wore it almost every day this summer.
I really hate the new scentbird containers that's part of why I canceled my subscription they feel so much cheaper than the old ones that metal. 😂
Burberry Her has a plasticky smell that reminds me of the Strawberry Shortcake dolls. I like it probably because of nostalgia, but it is strange!
I felt the same about midnight fantasy, except the blueberry muffin doll instead. I love it for at home, but I'm not sure I want to go out smelling like a doll to most places.
I love Kilian princess. I aggressively hate Kilian love don't be shy and strongly dislike anything else with orange blossom.
I've recently realized that I hate orange blossom. It makes anything it's in so heavy and cloying to me.
I’ve found Basil is something I love in my food, but not in my fragrances. Doesn’t mesh with me.
very nice video
See I do not like at all this is her. I got it from scentbird and I was so excited but to me it just smells powdery. And I totally think thank u next smells like pickles hahaha

Someone gave me a bottle of Michael kors Sexy Ruby. It is total BARF-aroni. It’s so fakey fake heavy old lady perfume from the 80s. It’s gross, I hate it. Now, Kilian Angel Share? Absolutely delicious, my new favorite❤️
hibiscus mahajad is such a flop, personally. i thought it might be a floral i actually like, but it's so acrid 🥴 cannot get behind that bad boy
