Thank you for sharing so honestly. It is when things go wrong that we learn the most.

vannemei will start surfacing only after DO hit below 2,5 and won't kill vannamei that quickly. its the nitrate from the sludge that turned toxic in closed water system it is crucial to maintain waste (ammonia, ammonium, nitirite and nitrate) through filtration since you dont have photosynthetic microbes in the system to remove Nitrate. Bacillus will only convert ammonium (NH4) to Nitrite (NO2) and Nitrate (NO3) while at low concentration that might not be dangerous but as it accumulates, the reduction happen and disaster knocking on your door

Are you saying this wouldn't occur if the pond was under the sun?

Biofloc system requires aerator 30L/min of 1m cubic water. Thats why TAN was higher . Nitrification xtvt requires oxygen higher.

So low DO causes mass mortality....
    Then what caused low DO?
overdose of molasses or insufficient aeration?

@@RASAquaculture much appreciated for replying me. what's your opinion about nanobubble technology? I'm about to use it on my shirmp farm. so the point is
      1. is nanobubble really makes a difference?
      2. is there any negative effect of too high D.O. level?
      3. some say nanobubble/microbubble kills small bacteria, is it disturbing the process of plankton fermentation?

@@RASAquaculture was it only because of the biofloc sludge or because of the alkalinity and other factors?
