One of the better songs of the last decade imo

If we listen carefully at 2:20 some of us can hear a planet falling. At the beginning, the song suggests that everything is as it should be though she is feeling lost in her own world while the rest of the universe is still perfectly in place. Then it goes on about a destruction happening around the world. That 'outer space sound' could kind of disclose that what she says it's no longer true or it was never true, she only says what others around her need to listen and she uses the sound as a way to indicate her thought rather than with her lyrics. Beautiful construction with a development through its structure. This is one of the many ways of how I make sense of this song anyway. I have so many different interpretations of this even if it's a very new song to me. I'll have many more as the years go by and this is what I love about Emily's songwriting. I can listen to her songs and every time they give me a different story.

This is so emotionally potent and touching I almost can't enjoy it.
...doesn't sound like it but thats praise actually. I also liked the songwriting here. It feels like just as the song had nowhere else to go logically, it stopped at a great and suspenseful place even though it is so subtle as a whole. Kudos to you Emily. This track really takes you places.
Honestly I can't think of a single Metric song that I don't like, I don't think there's any other band I can say that about. Haines is a great musician and song writer.

I once mapped out her walking paths in this video to see if there was some symbol or image that she was creating like a secret message, but it just looked like an angular scribble.
