I don't think it would be the same in real life. I had a dream once aswell that made me fall in love with a person I was close with in real life.... it didn't quite work out that way in reality.
Because in the end in the dream he is literally just how you imagine him and a complete creation of you besides the way his face looks. And probably reality would not live up to that, because they are a real person with a mind of their own.
