Quarantine is hard on all of us, that's why we're doing our best to present to you even greater unseen gems from the vast Deep Purple family catalogue.
For today's "presentation" we have a fragment of a "Top 10" BBC documentary series aired way back in 1999. The most interesting thing is that beside "short-haired" David Coverdale you can hear short stories from the members of the classic line up: Jon Lord, Ian Paice, Bernie Marsden & Micky Moody !
.
Oh man, that classic early 80s 'snake lineup. Blessed to have seen them live and still living with those songs now.
.
Saw them in 81 and this was by far Whitesnake at its best. It was my first ever gig and have great memories of the band it was magic
Gold mark! Bernie-Micky-Jon-Ian- David-Neil forever! This is what a real boys band should look like! ;-)
Jon Lord RIP THE MAESTRO!!! 🎶
Jonathan Douglas Lord 🎹😭
Bernard John Marsden
Michael Joseph Moody
Philip Neil Murray
Ian Anderson Paice
David Coverdale
Simply The Best Line Up 🎵🎼🎶🎤🎹🎸💪😎👊

Oh my LORD!!!!!
You got one wrong..David _muthafuckin'_ Coverdale.
It was Bernie running up to the mike on impulse and saying something like "How do, David!" in a cod northern accent to DC's "Good Evening, Norman!" that cracked the band up. (RIP Sir Bernard.)
thank you for posting this
brilliant
Narrator: "His new band: Whitesnake."
Camera: **zooms in to David's crotch area**
Narrator: "Very impressive."
Alan Freeman was a legend and should not be referred to as a 'narrator.'
@@grobbler1: Maybe the guy didn't know who he was. Alan Freeman (Fluff) was indeed a great bloke, but that wasn't his best narration.

It's from a CH4 series called Top 10s. I think this one was Top 10 Heavy Metal acts, not the BBC.
It's adorable to see Jon Lord making fun of David...
I love that they called him Elsie...🦁
Not BBC - this is from C4s Top 10 of British Metal
‘Crass’ ? Maybe back then but listen to some of the songs and lyrics around today - the Whitesnake stuff is very tame in comparison. Disney almost
Absolutely true
Pmsl Jon Lords take on Coverdale is great
Great clip👍 Remember watching this on TV back in the day and thinking Lord was a tad OTT in the bitchy stakes, followed by Moody. (WS audiences were never 97% male, always a higher than average proportion of the tightly clad fairer sex as I recall!😊) Unnecessarily cutting I thought, clearly has a gripe. (Think Rainbow were either side of them in this top ten) RIP Lord, Cozy and Galley 🎼🎵
Exactly, these guys owed DC a lot. Lord & Paice were unemployed prior to joining Whitesnake. Marsden and Moody were going nowhere in 2nd rate bands. Talk about biting the hand that feeds you. I've seen a video on here with Lord being bitchy about Blackmore, without whom, Lord would have got nowhere.
It's always struck me as hypocritical that the Whitesnake(and ex Deep Purple) members who made a lot of money from David Coverdale's songs would choose to make sneering remarks about him.
David is no saint. The way he treated John Sykes and Neil Murray was terrible. He has also disrespected the older line ups like saying he was the only one who did a good job on Fool for your Loving which is why he said it was re-recorded in the 80s. His sole aim it seems was to be successful in America and he didn't care who he trod on to succeed. Can't fault his voice, back in the day anyway, but I can see why he isn't popular with some ex band mates.
Coverdale is an asshole, that's a fact .
Is there more of this or is this the entire film?
That was a part of Top 10 documentary, Whitesnake held 6th place
Hahaha, Jon Lord imitation, "Hello I'm David Coverdale..." "97 percent of the front roll audience were guys!" 😮🤔, ... pictures of Coverdale 🤣🤣 ; Coverdale, 'I slept with most of the guys' wives...' 🤤... paging Robert 'Rubber' Plant, you've got 'competition, ' hahaha ⚘🎉🎊😂😂
Coverdale made coffee for Robert Plant.
“i can’t have slept with all the wives.”
@@LeftistUprising I hope he pee'd in it.😂
@@LeftistUprising And pee'd in it too.
Very dissapointed how the Deep Purple member wee so antiquated. The only way to progress was to left them behind and Deep Purple once one of the greates rock Bands beccame so tacky,, lost in the past, lost the touch, ashame of themselves. Davd was right aheading to the future, developing himself
What *are* you babbling on about?
@@CB-xr1eg Are you not intelligent enough to realize and understand?
@@marcomontandon5172 Type it again in proper English, and then I'll understand.
Yeah some of those lyrics were a little to much… actually a lot to much. My only critique of that band.
That’s part of the fun of it though
DC was actually thinking of naming an album Liquor & Poker🤣
How about Ian Gillan? Hard Lovin' Woman...it felt just great when she pulled her 38's
😉
