- All Quiet Roads is a game heavily inspired by Mini Metro and Mini Motorways, developed by a single person, but brimming with addictive and fun gameplay! As I was a highway engineer for a decade, it seemed like a great game for me to try out and see how it compares to real life! This is part 4 where I use multiple bridges to get high scores!

About All Quiet Roads 4743:
Build roads between various neighborhoods. Congested roads turn amber and then red as traffic slows down. Build more roads. Add cloverleafs, ferries, bridges, and tunnels, getting all your vehicular traffic to where it needs to go.
A vehicle trip is completed when a vehicle reaches its desired destination. Each completed trip adds to your raw score. The raw score is the count of the number of vehicle trips completed. Additionally, your All Quiet Roads score ( AQR ) updates to your current raw score only if there are no roads currently in a red warning state. Your raw score will continue accumulating but it will not become an AQR score until the moment when no roads are red. Red roads can be noisy as motorists honk their horns. All the roads are all quiet only when no roads are red.
All Quiet Roads 4743 is somewhat unique in allowing players to manage traffic on roads that turn red, just like realtime maps we use on real world roads. Red roads are dangerous, because as traffic backs up it will eventually cause neighborhoods to become jammed. When the neighborhood can no longer hold any more newly spawning vehicles the game is over.

One thing Matt should try in this game or other games of this type: just completely demolishing the entire system in mid-to-late game once about 90% of stuff has spawned and re-jiggering the system to be designed better, from the ground up, rather than just continuing the organic design.

Hey Matt! It's pretty cool how the dev actually made the areas pretty accurate for Seattle (as in the stadiums, airports and housing places are in about the same places as real life)
I hope that it is like that for St. Louis

The school is in the same location as University or Washington. And he placed 520, I5 and I405 in roughly the right locations.
one thing I noticed you don't do, is that you could use 'one way' rules to force longer routes instead of deleting roads this would allow the residents to continue using the road, which would mean that they're not backing up a different part of the road
You need to go back to your engineering firm and convince them to build a bridge roundabout somewhere. The world needs bridgeabouts.

How to build a bridge:
Good, now when all the architects have scrolled past the uprising is coming… I’m from the future to be exact 2061 and engineers are now myths and there’s a good reason…. The- the ar.. I can’t believe I’m saying this but architects they took over.. it happens in 2060 and it’s now been a year since they took over and the engineers are nowhere to be seen their all hiding personally I’m under a bridge… since no architects dare come close to Engineering… Prepare all Engineers be ready for the uprising.
Just wait for a moment, they probably gonna get crushed by their own building that aren't calculated.

Have you considered solving the traffic on the north bridge by just putting a toll on it so less people go over it? If that doesn't work, what if it just needed maintenance all the time? That would surely get everyone off of it!
We can merge nearby road crosss. This can reduce bottleneck & use less four-leaf clover
You basically have I-5, I-405, and the beginning of I-90. We have a lot of Ferry's here. Except you don't have the I-90 going through Mercer Island and connected up north where the Hwy 2 Trussle is in Elensberg.
You can disable the automatic road snapping in the options! It helps a lot!

I feel like Matt always messes up just to laugh at night knowing people are screaming at their phone. Like all the junctions at the bottom, could have combined a few. Then the no through roads. Raises my blood pressure but o can’t live without the daily vid.

But they were in the basement at the bottom of a locked filing cabinet, behind a warning sign saying "Beware of the leopard"! And who's in the habit of just dropping by the local planning office? It's not exactly a noted social venue, is it?

Where is timberbor?
That first bridge mimics the 520-Evergreen floating bridge, I believe the longest floating in the world. You can you can see Mr Rainier, two independent mountain ranges and pass by the University of Washington.
I got to work on a portion of the Evergreen Point Floating Bridge! I noticed as he was making the first bridge that it was in the same location.

funny with the ''inside of a bend'' junction thingy, had to pass trough one with my car irl , I was entering a main road from a dirt road and it was quite the 160 degree bend and on top of a hill so basically 0 visibility going out

YO I LIVE IN THE SEATTLE AREA! AND I’VE BEEN THERE! Also that shaping of the land looks quite close to what it looks like irl and the water west of Seattle is the puget sound and the lake east of Seattle is Lake Washington
Now you need to try to cover the land in roads like you did in Mini Motorways to prevent building from spawning but it might not work because buildings in this game don't seem to need free space
The Stadium literally spawned on one of the roads so this wouldn't work

And now for a bridge review! The road just about touches the water, which people love being even closer to the lake while stuck in traffic. The roads are buttressed by black lines, and they only hold up maybe 5 years before needing significant repairs. I give it 4/10.
This made me curious about something, what if you used one way roads to connect everything with a couple shortcuts that are also one way roads, wouldn’t that be the most efficient???? Since traffic would always be flowing in one unified direction.
Possibly, but i think that means you have to have more routes in total, and there may simply not be enough road tiles. It'll have to be tested
In city skylines try to make the smallest city using the mod that lets you overlap buildings
