I had this as a rental about a year ago and I loved it. I never thought I could see myself driving a 3 row SUV but maan, it felt so quick, nimble, well balanced, nice to look at, and smooth to drive.
Our 2015 Acadia has the same system for the rear seats folding. It’s very easy, very little effort, and fast. Power adds needless complexity. I don’t want to stand in the rain pushing a button waiting for the seat to fold. I’m not opposed to power, fold flat power 3rd row in our 02 Suburban would’ve been great.
The grey interior contrast is much better than black. Light interiors are fine as long as you don’t have messy passengers. I agree about the sunroof shade: cheap. I recently drove a ‘22 Denali and was very impressed. I hope GM has fixed the 9-speed transmission problems. Too many 6 passenger and the bench seats are very scarce. Not everyone who buys an SUV needs to be concerned about cargo: nicely featured, easy entrance/exit and higher ride height are good talking points for we older drivers.
Joe, after watching so many uploads and leaving few comments under your videos I decided to subscribe. Even though I disagree some of your remarks and criteria on evaluating cars and trucks, I appreciate your enthusiasm and ability to not to push one brand over the other as a reviewer. Your reviews are great for getting an initial idea about the cars and trucks to go ahead and do one's own personal testing and having an idea objectively. I hope you will be able to keep going on this pace and content to help individuals such as myself who are true car enthusiasts. Thank you for your efforts
Drove one---very nice acceleration and braking, quiet cabin, leather is thick, sheet metal is thick---Honda Pilot/Passport is thin in both. Why keep going after the light color interior? Choose a different color. Dash is classier in person, by the way.
I like the redesign of the outside, but the interior is still clunky looking and the infotainment def needs updating. I feel for the money a Telluride or Palisade would be a better choice.
@@mybro727 the looks of it feels outdated. Hell my 15" sonata looks better then that. Yes I know its what's on the inside that counts but when your spending that type of money you want the looks to match.
Nick Papagiorgio the looks do match. This infotainment was just recently updated and is equipped with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The state looks just as good as it performs.
Not to big, not to small. Outside looks good. Like the infortainment screen is builtin rather than sticking on the front of dash like most vehicles. Inside could use more updating but not a deal breaker for me. Glad they left the headlights up above rather than some vehicles lowering them. The third row good for families although one can drop them for additional storage for empty nesters. Twin tailpipes nice! Will a turbo four give you better gas mileage?
No, the Kia Tell U Ride, and Hyundai Palisade offer far more in comparison. I even think the Mazda CX9, although a little dated, is a better choice too.
WB Wayne If I’m being honest, the Mazda CX9 is the same age as a Nissan Pathfinder. Those two need to do some work to keep up with the long term reliability of the Toyota Highlander, Ford Explorer, and Honda Pilot. Even the Subaru Ascent, although it has a CVT, is of higher quality and a better value than the mazda and Nissan
@@SilverScarletSpider The current generation Pathfinder was introduced as a 2013 model, the 2nd gen CX9 came out as a 2016 model. Mazda has made some really incredible strides in the last few years, since seperating from Ford. As a whole, Consumer Reports ranks Mazda 3rd in manufacturers reliability ratings for 2019.
I think the interiors of the Kia and Hyundai are both better than this GMC, sadly. And you'll have to do your shopping to get a 2020 Denali at the same price point at a loaded Kia or Hyundai at MSRP.
Is visibility better on the Acadia? In the Enclave and Traverse the front pillar is in the way when turning left. Also love that you can turn the stop/start off on the Acadia over the Buick and Chevy. Wish I could get the storage of the Enclave though with the look of the Acadia.
I would like to see a comparison video with Acadia vs Traverse but the highest trim level, I'm interested in both thanks keep up the great videos, I don't like the off white color it clashes...
I have the 2017 with the same interior. My only complaint is the dash board has a really bad glare that reflects off the window and is very distracting.
I like the Acadia but don’t need a three row SUV and I wouldn’t get the light interior. Why is there tape on the side of the passenger door armrest ? Nice review Joe! 👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸
Gotta 2019 Denali Red/ Baieg interior, no problem with stains or dirt. However, 32000 miles and trans had to be rebuilt. Now looks like thermostat needs replacing. Oh yeah , already had Shift to Park problem
The redesign exterior looks awesome, I personally am not a big fan of all that chrome, the light interior, even without kids causes some anxiety here, lol. I own a 2019 Terrain SLT black edition, the interior is surprisingly very similar. I personally prefer one colour for a clean sleek look. Curios to see what different trim levels they will offer, for example, a black edition maybe 🙃 I love my terrain, 25,000 km and has been awesome to own so far. Great review, I really like how detailed you are.
Good vid. Went with the 2020 XT6 got sick of waiting for the Acadia to go online (you still can't build it online) . I'm confirmed after this vid the XT6 is worth the extra although the Acadia looks nice. I think the the AT4 will be killer.
I have a question? Are the AC systems in cars that are built for Florida in new cars different (more powerful) than the AC systems in cars that are built for the north eastern part of the US?
I like the colors and the trim. I also wanted to say that I appreciate your video's. I don't know how far that is from you, but if its within an hour, you've earned a customer after we move. Thanks again for your informative videos.
I know they are 2 different types of vehicles but as a family vehicle, how do you feel the Acadia stacks up against the Pacifica. I have seen your video on both so your opinion matters.
Joe, I just watched your video on this Acadia Denali. I don't understand the logic GM has for offering a Dark Grey Dash / Light Shale Beige combo on the Denali and offering the Coco Brown / Light Grey combo on the lesser SLE & SLT models. Would you not think that logically the Coco Brown would look better with the Light Shale Grey and the Dark Grey would contrast better with the Light Grey?
Do I see those square cupholders in the back? Perfect for those square cups that are everywhere now. lol. If they're the same as the ones on the Yukon, they're horrible. Come on GMC!!!! Get it together!
Is it possible that you can start setting the second row seats to a comfortable position and then getting in the third row and seeing if you fit when your review SUV’s. It doesn’t really let us know if an adult can fit back there if you don’t let the seat up when you hop back there.

My 2012 kia optima is at the dealership for new engine due to a recall and my motor seizing. I got hooked up with a 2020 acadia denali and its nice. have you ever ask GMC why the cup holders are not backlit like the Dodge or others that have it, interior lighting is very important, as for the buttons on the steering wheel, that is so bad, my zonk on this is 10

1. I'm sorry but a Denali should be able to have push button to fold 3rd row.
2. GMC... PLEASE UPDATE YOUR INTERIORS!!! (Dashboard area)..Ugh!

GMC interiors are awful. They are being updated for the new Yukons & Escalade & allegedly for the Sierra's in the 2022 year.
Max M1976 no, I love their interiors. They’re different and squared off
Miguel Herrera I love them, they’re different and manly which is who GMC is made for
