I've owned a lot of horses now, tried most, like some more than others, live the shoes of the roadster and the foxtrotter, live the way you feel on top of the breton, love the way the black arabian handles, but so far, my bravest horse by far, is my female buckskin mustang. Can't say why, but it is.

I bought 4 new mustangs, 2 female and 2 males and lead them to 4 bonding leve,, the behaviour of the four is different . One of the males was very “sweet” and nice with the owner never goes too far and comes inmediately when called, an pretty brave.. The other male was the contrary: freaking with snakes and every predator, even if they were far from us, also the noise of weapons in combat scared him to hell and buck me off. The character of the females was also different. Obviously, Rockstar developed a software where some characteristics are controlled by a random number asigned when you buy the horse. That is great! They have “personality”.
I really wish rockstars add the all new mustang in Missouri Foxtrotter’s in story mode/DLC I most definitely want the buckskin mustang soo beautiful 😻 and also I don’t like online as much but I do hope they add new horses in story mode hopefully they put it in wild for Arthur Morgan
i think these horses will come to story soon or at least a select few of them. same thing happens with gta. they put it online first because if they put it in story first, it’ll defeat the purpose of people buying it online and they won’t profit from it then

That's the first horse I bought as soon as I got 500 "dollars" in the game...I'm on level 65 and I don't see the need in having another horse...this Mustang is the only horse I need.
I just started RDO two weeks ago and bought the new mustang. I really love it. In my opinion one of the best all around horses on a budget and I love the look. I got the red one👍🏻
Love the new mustangs, if you add up all the stats they're on the same level as the black arabian. Handling is worse however, but it makes up for that in bravery...

Black arabian has elite handling though, but the new mustangs are more courageous. And all that for 500$, or 20 gold, instead of 42gold you pay for the black arabian.

Lvl4 bond with nocogdoches and hooded stirrups gives the Black arabian 9 health, 9 stamina, 9 speed, and 9 acceleration, or a total of 36. The miustang gets 10 health, 10 stamina, 9 speed, 7 acc, or a total of 36. Although you could argue the mustangs stamina advantage is useless since a fully bonded horse with a nacogdoches saddle won't ever run out of stamina. Basically if your horse is level 4 bonding and you have a good saddle, the stamina stat is irrelevant.
Been using this since it was on sale for $350. I’ve never been bucked off. Ever. In hundreds of hours. With the nagodoches saddle and bonding 4, the stamina doesn’t go down at all. Final numbers are 9/7/10/10 with that saddle and hooded stirrups. Only reason I’m going to use another horse is because I’m bored.
The new mustang yes i totally agree, i have the white one with a little light brown dusting on it, the most beautiful steed in the game.. I named him Glueboy after Arthur heaths (cuthbert allgood) horse. Liking the new bounty mode as well
If rockstar would just please PLEASE add the Buckskin Mustang, Black Turkoman, and the Seal Brown Brenton to story mode, I swear to god my life would be complete and I could die happy.
My own buckskin female mustang is hands down, my best horse in terms of overall bravery plus speed plus stamina plus health. Easily my bravest in the face of both gunfire and predators. I'm convinced that bravery is a random stat. I think if you buy ten identical mustangs maybe one or two of them will be brave, the rest will just be your normal run of the mill, nice mustang horse.
The mustang is my FAVORITE horse in red dead. As brave as a gypsy cob and a better fit for the old west. I'm so glad they made one with decent speed, I got my first race win with one 🥰😂
Guys. Try SWIMMING past alligators in the bayou. Most horses will refuse. Turn around. The mustang or Perlino are one of the few who will swim on and allow u to cross.

I have this mustang and it has already reached bond 4. But sometimes the outer core just won’t fill back to 100%. I’ve feed the horse but the outer core only filled back to 85%. Is this a bug or I missed sth?
A little late to the party but I just started online a few days ago and managed to pick this dude up pretty early in. He's fast, strong and pretty agile - but for me he's also a coward! In gunfights he's a pro, can stay on his back no problem. However, if I run into animals my god, he just has a complete freak out, bucks and then flees. I swear I've owned Arabians calmer in story mode
I just bought the black and white overo. Now I just need the buckskin to round out my stable of mustangs I’ll always love the thoroughbred, but these little horses are absolutely phenomenal all round horses.
You have forgotten how ferocious are this new horses for example the white and black Arabians, Fox Trotters and Turcomans are the most ferocious breeds of the game so they will be harder to reach level 4 bonding than the most dociles breeds of the game like most of the ride horses and the draft horses.
so here's the thing, i DO see that in your video YOUR mustang is handling shooting and animals pretty good. but i just CANNOT say the same about my mustang, he's Buckskin Mustang too but he's not a badass like yours, he's a blatant coward - panicking near the gunfire, starts to wander around in panic while in "mobile turret" mode (with player shooting from his back), and definetely bucking me near cougars and bears (haven't met yet wolves tho, wierd) is it possible that the game have some sort of randomizer of characteristics on the same horse types?

If you get the level 54 Spurs it will max out the horses speed FYI. Also when it’s maxed out to level 4 the health is full and Stam as well. I honestly think the mustang is the new best horse in the game. 😁 I got the buckskin and named him spirit. It’s kinda basic for it but that is my childhood movie and I still watch it 😅🥰

I dont care about reviews anymore I bought me a nice horse Stat wise and I just enjoy watching em. BTW it's this horse. I also have the free race horse which is nice and have used one of the free Bretons. I will eventually. Get a third stable and get a better Breton in the future a stallion for my two mares. The mustang and my race horse.
Does it have any better temperament than a steel grey/mealy dapple bay breton? I've heard it's more or less the same but to me it makes sense that the breton is the bravest because it's a horse for bounty hunters
Might just sell my red Arabian for this one, it was a good starter horse back in the beta days on PS4 but now she just collects dust in my stable. Gonna replace her with this Mustang.

And horse speed does not really matter if you have hooded stirrups and the Nacogdoches saddle. I ride all my horses but the Red Arabian.

My point is that most people are under the impression that some horse breeds are better then other breeds because of this imaginary bravery stat but at this point I've been playing the game for 2years and have owned most of the horse breeds and from my experience I can't tell the difference between a horse breed's bravery. Its okay to have a preference but some people just say some horses are better because others say so, in my opinion all the expensive horses are better than cheap horses and that's the only time it makes sense to use the term "better".

Lol not true at all. I guess you never rode an appaloosa in this game because they ain't afraid of shit. Everyone says the bravest horses in this game are the turkomans, cladrubers, nrflk roadsters, and bretons. But appaloosas, mustangs, Hungarian halfbreeds, ardennes, and nokotas put all those other horses to shame. I bought the spotted appaloosa for 18 gold, its not afraid of bears, wolves, gators, etc. Same with the others I mentioned. And depending on certain breeds a female horse is not skiddish and scared easily like a male horse, and vice versa for other breeds. Test it out and let me know.

This mustang is a great horse, not the fastest, but a damn good horse for sure. Stamina is a full ring at level 4
Speed isn’t really useful anyway unless your in for a long ride, in which case you should just fast travel

@@downbeatxxtwo2348 pvpcat did a comparison of lots of breeds, it is down to when the animal roars and when u time the calming of your horse. other than that all horses will react at the exact same time with a predator when it 1. roars and 2. how close it is when it roars/attacks 3. when u calm it
@@seiren294 I love pvpcat, I think I've seen the video you're talking about. My point is that most people are under the impression that some horse breeds are better then other breeds because of this imaginary bravery stat but at this point I've been playing the game for 2years and have owned most of the horse breeds and from my experience I can't tell the difference between a horse breed's bravery. Its okay to have a preference but some people just say some horses are better because others say so, in my opinion all the expensive horses are better than cheap horses and that's the only time it makes sense to use the term "better".
@@downbeatxxtwo2348 i defo agree! ive had all the horses in the game, and the real thing which makes a 'better horse' is the stats health and stamina, as speed's diff is so small tbh

Lol not true at all. I guess you never rode an appaloosa in this game because they ain't afraid of shit. Everyone says the bravest horses in this game are the turkomans, cladrubers, nrflk roadsters, and bretons. But appaloosas, mustangs, Hungarian halfbreeds, ardennes, and nokotas put all those other horses to shame. I bought the spotted appaloosa for 18 gold, its not afraid of bears, wolves, gators, etc. Same with the others I mentioned. And depending on certain breeds a female horse is not skiddish and scared easily like a male horse, and vice versa for other breeds. Test it out and let me know.
