Excellent video Chris! You were the reason that made me decide to buy a Buddipole. I'm very happy with the portable setup specially the video where you show how to setup a 2 element beam for 6 meters. I made a 2 element beam out of Buddipole accessories. Excelllent results! Thanks Buddipole!
Hello Steve, Im hoping you know what the model/brand of that key is? Or is it a homebrew? Id really like to read-up on it more & possibly purchase one. It looks quality made, from the very brief view of it... Thanks for any help you can provide. BTW, big fan of your radio vids & your goat buds! 73, Josh N8TIP
I think the buddipole vertical seems to be really nice it looks like it works really well I'm still stuck between Alpha and chameleons but I think the buddipole separates from both companies the way your system is seems to be realistic
My guess is the top one, since the lower element was already fully extended. If both elements are fully extended already, you might have to adjust the coil taps instead.
I am a proud Buddipole owner, homebrewed and commercial--but your four pounds of equipment thing--the 817 alone is nearly five, right? Anyway, I wish I had that setup. I run the IC7000 at present. I'll be checking its effectiveness with the mini-buddipole.
Thanks for the tutorial! Seems to be a very good antenna! I ordered the buddipole just a few minutes ago. I will use it with my FT 817ND. Will let you know abt my experiences! vy 73 de DG1MJH
Only a tool would say something negative about a historically positive hobby & public service! BTW, if it matters, the inventor is named Budd, so the name of his creation seems quite fitting.
Thanks for not only showing how to set up the Mini Buddipole, but also how to make adjustments for resonance. This helps a newbie like me.

It's not a PPT switch but portable mini-CW paddle ...Chris was using to key the rig to read his SWR
