Every Christmas, Easter, and birthday he would send me card with a handwritten note telling me he would always love me, he was there when ever I was ready, and that he was praying for us to be able to heal. God is real- Gary just needs to give them their space and never speak ill of the mother regardless of her sins. The children will come back
The way you think the children owe speedy healing to the dad who willfully fractured their foundation is crazy. Love is patient. But kids don't deserve patience? While in active trauma of their parents splitting? Wow. You need to grow up. @briangoins9150

@@jtaylor3717I like Gary. Been watching him since Comic View days, but how does a woman put hate into grown children’s hearts? He cheated, broke up their family, then had two more kids a few years later on top of admitting he wasn’t always there. Most kids are gonna feel some type of way about that. He made his bed, so now he has to live with the consequences. They don’t have to forgive him!

The pain on Gary’s face when he talks about his kids is evident. I am praying for healing in their relationship. Time is short we do not know is how much time we have on this earth❤️❤️

He is playing the victim. His kids are grown. They can choose to have a relationship or not. He is a liar and a cheater and refuses to take responsibility for what he did. Now he is an old man with twins and do u think he will stop cheating, spend more time with them? Hope so but probably not.
He said he did. But that's just what men do. People have the wrong idea about prenuptial agreements. Women should be willing to come up with a contract before even saying yes to a proposal. We all know men cheat. Some only once, some once a month. Just get the contract done
What fathers go through?? Men don’t have to choose other women over their family then get mad when their kids think they’re a scumbag. Thats a decision.

Life…..it’s not for the weak. Awesome real life interview. Thank you Gary for your pure openness. You touched a lot of people. I pray your children come to the realization of what really matters in life which sadly only comes to some with life losses. There’s a lot of pain throughout his life but still perseveres. As they say the greatest comedians are birthed through pain. Prayers for healing and unification 🙏
Gary I will say that when my Dad cheated on my mom it felt like he cheated on me. I was so hurt. He did sit me down and had a convo with me and I never stopped talking to him but I was very hurt and took it personal. Kudos to you for not giving up and keeping the door open to your children.
The kids know the discretions on one side because one of the parents made sure it was heard. There were indiscretions on the other side but Gary didn't put it out there. He played fair and lost the relationship with his kids. The consequences of taking the high road were bad for him but the kids still have a parent they didn't lose faith in so in a way it is a win for some.
With my parents my mom stepped out and my siblings and I viewed it the same way. Seeing him hurt, hurt us and caused resentment for years. Oddly enough it was my father's forgiveness that made me forgive her. If he could move on why couldn't I. May he RIP ❤ He was an amazing man that showed me what Christ like love truly looks like. ❤
@KtotheG I feel bad for your mother to have birthed you. You would tell HER to be a better wife if your dad cheated instead of him being a better husband? I hope you don’t go out and have kids cause you sound like someone who would blame their child for being molested or something. Yikes!

both their interviews seemed very sincere. I did not watch the Monique and I could only stomach so much of amanda seales. Both came of like the had an agenda and they trying too hard. This was actually an interview.
In all honesty, I truly hope his kids see this conversation. Their father's being real, unbiased and willing to talk. They're at that age where they're going to ask and want to know things approaching their 20s. Some kids never had a father that was even there for that. This is a blessing for them.

Many people forget during a divorce, the kids also go through a heart break. Right now their hearts are broken, and perception of self is probably shattered. They need to heal and sometimes it takes time.
@@TheLykon I am not sure what's your point, because my point was aside from the cheating on their Mom, their hearts (the kids) are also broken. They too are going through heart ache, disappointed, shock etc, their perception of self literally shifted. They have their own pain in this situation, so it's no surprise they don't even want to talk to him. Someone breaks your heart, you don't want to deal with them ,and that's something I don't think Gary understands. He broke their hearts too!
I work in family law & once adult children’s parents divorce they start reflecting on everything from their childhood, they take sides, have resentment, their memories of what they were told as children during times versus what they know was really happening now that they’re adults definitely requires healing. Shoot some of them eventually realize why they’re in therapy or have certain issues from their childhood they couldn’t put their finger on
Bless his heart. I hate that they couldn't break because he was working hard not to cry. His eyes watered up and got glassy talking about his kids and his dad. Shay is right. He NEEDS to forgive his family for himself. And I pray his kids come around because he obviously loves them so incredibly much. Bless his heart...🖤
My dad cheated on my mom and I can remember her taking me by their job and saw my dad’s car parked next to the mistress. I didn’t understand then but I know my mama trashed talked my daddy so bad it played mind games with me and manipulated me into hating my dad. I became rebellious. But it took me becoming an adult and understanding the adult life and humanizing my dad and understanding my mom’s pain. Keep fighting for the kids Gary. Give them time let them live and they will become understanding and open up to you.
Yessss! My mother did the same thing but in a diff scenario where I was put in a position to physically hurt my dads Mrs. I was only 15. It rly damages u and like yourself, I eventually understood as I got older. On a good note me and my dads Mrs are OK after I apologised despite my mother still hating on her.
Cheating is unacceptable and you not wrong for hating someone who didn’t care about how his choices affected you and didn’t care to break the person who birthed you and brought you into this world you not wrong for that he was wrong for putting you in that position
I always liked Gary Owen but seeing his transparency and vulnerability makes me love this guy even more. Him saying “his children are his greatest achievement and failure at the same time” and “ when children are little they idolize you, during a divorce they demonize you and when they get older they humanize you.” This struck a chord with me and I hate that children take on the same sickness of hate from their mothers. It’s a sad but true reality. But I thank you Gary for being so transparent. Divorce with children is a horrific fight with collateral damage and no one wins in the end. Salute to you bro. Keep keeping on ✊🏾

Shannon sounded like he was speaking from expierence.
Someone whose job it is to bring us laughter ; the idea of him just showing up to just look at his kids without interaction is probably the most heart wrenching thing I’ve ever heard . And I don’t have kids .

It shouldn’t be like this but dad’s go through this.
Maybe he should have shown up before. lol.
Indeed! I’m praying for all of them.
I agree, I don’t want to judge another man unless I’ve walked in his shoes. This man needs prayers to heal, childhood wounds are deep.
The pain on Gary’s face when he talks about his kids is evident. I am praying for healing in their relationship. Time is short we do not know is how much time we have on this earth❤️❤️
My heart goes out to Gary. I couldn't imagine not talking with my mom/dad for days, months, or years. Prayerfully, all will work out sooner than later including with his kids. 🙏🙏🙏

I love that Shannon took the time to talk about forgiveness and how it is for Gary and not for his father. He is absolutely right. I pray that his relationship with his children is restored.
Gary is showing you what father's actually go through I appreciate his humanity
He is playing the victim. His kids are grown. They can choose to have a relationship or not. He is a liar and a cheater and refuses to take responsibility for what he did. Now he is an old man with twins and do u think he will stop cheating, spend more time with them? Hope so but probably not.
He said he did. But that's just what men do. People have the wrong idea about prenuptial agreements. Women should be willing to come up with a contract before even saying yes to a proposal. We all know men cheat. Some only once, some once a month. Just get the contract done

Gary I will say that when my Dad cheated on my mom it felt like he cheated on me. I was so hurt. He did sit me down and had a convo with me and I never stopped talking to him but I was very hurt and took it personal. Kudos to you for not giving up and keeping the door open to your children.
My dad could've had a harem of women and I wouldn't have cared. I would told mama to step up and be a better wife.
@@KtotheGamazing how you and the original person that made the comment have different views. It proves…we are not the same
The kids know the discretions on one side because one of the parents made sure it was heard.
Yikes!

They’re adults, so I’m sure that makes it easier to comprehend
Yeah but he cheated on there mom. Children usually side with the mom
Shoot some of them eventually realize why they’re in therapy or have certain issues from their childhood they couldn’t put their finger on
It’s been 3.5 years. There mother is talking to him so why aren’t they?
They can never make me hate, Gary! He's one of my favorite comedians.

This was by far the best interview on club Shay Shay, best ever.
@JoyBeeeeeeee the mother was also wrong for bringing the child into that mess to begin with

I met Gary at the comedy club in Ontario. You just never know what’s really going on with the people that make you the happiest.
I don't talk to my family members either and I hate it when people say forgive. We can forgive but we don't have to continually expose ourselves to abuse. Sometimes entire families are poison.
