Hey, not to be a stickler about what I didn't see... But what happened to using the feeler gauge when tightening the rod caps?? Or was that for doing the Main caps on the crank... Can't remember if it was one or the other...🧐🫡
Creative measuring, tape to make a straight line and a SMALL cut off wheel or a ball diamond bit in a dremel tool. No real science to it, i used a dial caliper to mark my end point, connected the dots with tape and drew a line. I just tried to maintain depth as close as i could. Debur it smooth! Just dont have the grooves go off the bottom of the skirt...have them off the side slightly. Off the bottom might create weird wear when the piston rocks in the bore.

I like the mod. You mentioned. 020 deep. Can you tell us what you use to create the groove and how you maintain the pattern?

If I understand correctly,
The grooves run into the oil ring land and off the side in the void of the side of the piston?
