I have the new E8 the bean hopper is monitored and you get an alarm/ message. The water does not come out the spout on the right for hot water. The hot water comes out the spout behind the middle coffee dispensers. The Americano hot water comes out the hot water spout. The drinks shown on the right during the video does not show the Americano. I think the North American version has Americano. I did find it useful to place the names on the drinks as a learning . The name option is one of the settings. If you use the milk foam option to make hot chocolate from cold milk it will be luke warm. The coffee is hot but not the milk foam.
Not sure I can judge “worth it” . We agreed that it would make a nice wedding anniversary gift. After a weeks worth. We like the taste of all the different drinks. The taste is consistent from drink to drink. We like the buttons vs the touch screen very tactile feel. I use the hot water setting to preheat my cup and if I want a milk drink I preheat the milk to about 10-11 deg C. The warmer starting temp does not cool down the drink. The grinder is quite and fast. We use the milk foam setting with warm water to flush the milk system each day. We use the milk cleaning tablets 1 a week. Go to ECS and give it a try.
Great machine, worth every penny. Was choosing between Jura E8 and Delonghi primadonna soul and choose jura because of Swiss made high quality components, P.E.P, grinder and other tech jura offers and on the end it was way cheaper than primadonna soul.
@@laigool2000 The machines J and above are still Swiss made. I have heard the Portugal machines actually have less issues. That might be because of less fancy features? 🤷♀
Comprehensive and informative reviews as always! Thank you, ECS. The J8 and the S8 offer on-screen direction regarding proper grind adjustment (based on the drink selection). Does this model also offer guidance for the grind setting based on the drink selection? If I missed it in the video, I apologize.
I have the E8 that is about 3 years old. The filter which the machines signals is change almost monthly at the present cost of $19 (started out at $15). Thats almost a yearly cost of $228. I don’t understand why there are no off market filters for the Jura E8 like Jura’s other machines.
Good question. And really one for Jura. But I can tell you that using their filters and systems will ensure the brewer lasts...I have clients that have had them for 15 years.
@@ecscoffeeinc once again, the additional monthly cost needs to be communicated to customers. There are excellent coffee machines that dont require a $19 monthly maintenance cost.
No. I have the milk container in my fridge. When I want a milk based drink I know how many seconds to heat the milk up before using. I heat the milk to about 10-12 deg C vs 3 in my fridge. I get almost 10 deg hotter foam so my coffee is still hot. I also use the hot water function to preheat the cup.
Interesting. I just went and had a look at our floor model from the demo. Americano is in the main menu. It could be a country feature but I would be surprised so I would reach out to the person you bought it from or Jura directly
Hey thanks for your reviews. Ive been going through a lot of your videos and i have this one question, how is juras doppio different from delonghi's? Thanks 😊
what's the maximum bypass amount (of coffee in grams). are there any other limitations to the bypass (what drinks you can make, what size, etc?) my husband can only drink decaf so he'll have to use the bypass all the time so I'd like all the info on that, ty!
My wife drinks decaf, so I put in decaf beans in the amount for a decaf drink then put amount (1 scoop) of caf beans for my drink. I have a gaggia machine and our method works well.
How do I get all the coffee selections on my screen? I don't see American displayed on my TFT screen. Just appear to have a small selection of coffees. Is their an additional menu? Thanks.
On the one hand I really like the screen of the S8, and its adjustable frothier, and being able to save two different settings for the same type of coffee. On the other hand, the E8 has the cortado and extra beverages and extra shots, and seems to be quiter. Do you know when was the S8 updated last and when may it be potentially updated again in the future? I'd love to have an S8 with the extra drink options offered by the new E8. I wonder if it's worth waiting for a potential new S8 model. Thanks!
Just got my E8 delivered yesterday. Love the flat white and cappucino😊. I am using datk roast beans. Would you recommend the grind level to the finest or medium coarse? And is the finest option for grinder the left most ? And the coarse grind option to the right?
Usually the setting from the manufacturer is ok. Finest is to the left. Be careful with dark beans. If they are oily (wet looking) they may cause grinder issues.
I'm kicking myself for buying this machine. I hate the lack of adjustments for milk foam. I thought I could buy the pro milk foamer attachment but unfortunately it is not compatible. So much froth in every milk drink and half a cup of froth left when you actually finish drinking the liquid! As someone else said, the water filters are expensive. I often wonder if it would be cheaper to not use them and just descale. Mine also seems to have a backwards sensor on the drip tray and grounds tray, telling me to empty the wrong one needed. Jura gave me a long winded response to this that doesn't actually solve the problem. I wish I had of gone with the S8 just for the milk adjustment control.
We bought the E8 2 months ago & have loved it. All of a sudden the milk brother doesn't work. It just shoots out a lot of steam. I took it apart & cleaned it per another UA-cam, but still not better. any suggestions?
Thank you so much for a very quick response. I am waiting for my Jura E8 delivery☺️ Im a bit confused. Can you say more about the updated milk cleaning system. The S8 looks to have been upgraded since this video and they now have the same grinder but it didn’t get the updated milk cleaning system or intelligent preheating, 3D brewing and Jura cockpit. Seems crazy the more expensive machine didn’t get all the updates. And no extra shot function 😡. I’m keen to know how the milk cleaning systems differ in real use and perhaps the intelligent preheating as well. The E8 also lists J.O.E & Wifi. S8 only J.O.E.
