So cool seeing you cover DOS and Retro 😁
This XT was a great find! And I think you know plenty, these were simple times, machines were simple and I think you did great covering it. Even things like 386s give me a hard time, this thing would take me on a head trip for sure! Thanks for another video, I'm glad you got that one out for us!
I shot you a message on Instagram of a prototype graphics card you may find interesting! Just recently found your channel, and was wondering when we would see another video. Great upload
Nice finding
Dude 5 months!
ayo this man uploading? glad to catch some new pixel pipes
ack...My old school life comes back again with me internally screaming "PROMPT $P$G" ! lol...
If I remember correctly, there is a 1990 updated bios that fixes dual IDE readers.
Hope you are doing OK. Miss your videos, 5 months no uploads, it shows.
Jam in all new ceramic caps.
I just started picking up old tech....my wife is gonna be P!$SED! Love the retro hardware videos, please keep them coming!
I didn't know that this was so complex at the time, I will still see your videos even though i am blocked in the discord server
was just watching your older tech demo videos and thought you would be just the person to ask. Im looking to find an old tech demo could have been ATI or Nvidia all i can recall was soldiers in a dark rocky place fighting aliens/dinosaurs, maybe early 2000s late 90s it was really jank looking and dark. hoping this helps as ive searched for years and never been able to find it. Keep up the good work!
I picked up an xt class system a couple of months ago. it really teaches you about some of the bare metal required as you need to ensure that the io address, IRQ, DMA, and memory address allocated properly. unfortunately I think the xtide requires a setting change for a different io address along with a jumper.
Hi, Buddy, expect your new video very much.
Interesting, like!
Well you might want to try get running Free DOS on this computer, so you have Fat32 support and you can even use some 16 bit isa ethernet cards (that can work just fine in 8 bits) to access games from a lan server. The channel Tech tangents made a great video about doing this stuff and it's a pretty great way of keeping an xt system usable. BTW to do this stuff you definitely need a ram upgrade to have the complete 640k.
Wikid! I've been gifted a nice 5150 & 5130 over the years, both just lost to moving, they were so damn heavy lol
You are the only person I could think to ask but if I were to put a gpu in my aunts 2005 athlon xp 3000 pc, should I go with one for the agp or pci. It only has 250 watt psu and no pcie
great video! Do you think that adapter will work on an amstrad pc 1512k?
