Thank you! We recommend getting the FAA Part 107 license. It will give you the knowledge to ensure you understand airspace and where you can and cannot fly. Grant took a class through the Pilot Institute and passed the FAA test first time. The flying? Practice and video games. 😆
      Thanks for watching!

You’re so welcome! Beautiful area and what a way to see it. Horseback camping would be a wonderful rustic way to experience the area. Thanks for watching :)

It’s a pretty recognizable campsite for those who have seen it. One of our favorite spots. Glad we could bring back some nostalgic memories :)

My first trip to Monache was in 1961, I was 7 and rode in from Lone Pine. Yes horse back. Was helping the Lacy ranch run cattle. So wonderful to see young families enjoy the upper meadows.

Great video! According to the Inyo Forest website Monache is closed. We plan on going for Memorial weekend. Any issues with any closures? I can't get a hold of anyone to verify. Thanks!

Thanks Jennifer! Much appreciated! (First discovered Monache from the video when you went with the Project-JK crew many, many years back 😉. Though just released, this video was shot summer of 2020. With a little one, we are a bit behind on our editing 🤪. ...but should be caught up after our next series (launching in a few months). 🚀
My best guess would be to either contact Inyo NF, the Blackrock Ranger Station (open Thurs-Sun)... or the general store at Kennedy Meadows. Snow pack was light this year... so you may be in luck!

@@SixOverland Man! That was quite a long time ago when I went with the JK-Forum peeps. 10-4 on the release date. Editing is tough and takes a while. My husband does all the editing on our videos. I'm not a fan..I like photos better. ;-) I've been calling many different numbers and ranger stations to no avail. :-( No one is answering or getting back to me. I know Monache is usually open by Memorial weekend, since that's when we go every year. Just trying to "know before we go". I guess I'll keep trying and keep my plans on going. Fingers crossed! Thanks!

Alright! Loving the introduction. You know, that is very considerate to share. So thoughtful. No-one else does this that I know of. I was in tears laughing at the crayon part. Priceless reactions from your daughter :) Going by your camera shots it looks like visitors to Monache Meadows look after the environment. I wouldn't go fishing there just to help keep the area more pristine. Cow grazing could be (is) detrimental too in such a sensitive area. Will miss your family adventures, until next time, all the best.

With regrets my wife and I have canceled our order for a loaded X1. We just aren’t campers and will camp vicariously through you and others we’ve been following. It’s built, no long wait as it’s expected delivery in July. Call Ray at Exploration Outfitters in Durant, Ok for details. Blessings!

So sorry to hear that. Make sure to post up the info on the Patriot Campers USA - Owners Group on Facebook. I’m sure someone will snatch it up quickly.
We’ve got a lot more content on the way, so even though you may not be camping... you’re totally welcome to live through our experiences. Be well and God bless!
