      I was wondering the same and I figured it out. The Wealthfront account is a cash account, not a HYSA. With the cash account the money is swept into multiple partnered banks rather than an HYSA where your money is safely put within a single bank.

    From your last video I learned about UFB DIRECT and I started banking w them. Initially if I’m not wrong it was a 4.5 percent interest rate but this year it dropped to 4.01. I’ll leave it for the rest of the quarter to observe and understand the market a bit more but eventually will pick some bank from this or newer video

Fidelity also good to use if u get into bank account bonuses.

    Apple has a HYSA at 3.9% interest is compounded daily and paid monthly. FDIC insured but I believe you need the apple credit card in order to apply. ( i use this with the apple credit card as the cashback gets automatically deposited into the savings account)

    You're totally forgetting the best and safest "savings account" out there-short-term T-bills! Yeah, FDIC-backed savings accounts sound nice, but fun fact: the FDIC has less than 1% of the total deposits it insures. Meanwhile, T-bills are backed by the "full faith and credit" of the U.S. government-which might sound like a fancy way of saying nothing, but hey, the government has a money-printing machine, so it kinda means everything.
    Don't be like me, wasting a whole decade burying my head in the sand with a regular savings account. Open a brokerage account (Vanguard, Fidelity, whatever), and buy T-bills at auction-for free! Oh, and here's the kicker: T-bill interest is tax-free at the state level, while savings account interest gets hit by both federal and state taxes. Uncle Sam always gets his cut… unless you play it smart!

    • @Chris-gv6fo
      @Chris-gv6fo 3 дні тому

      They are definitely variable. To the rate of how often they change is up to the economy and the bank itself

    • @stills2359
      @stills2359 3 дні тому +1

      The rates always fluctuate with a HYSA. If you want a locked in rate you'll want to look into CD's. A CD will lock in the rate within a certain period of time but your money will be locked as well.
