I love how understated and elegant Yasmin’s music is. In a world where so many solo acoustic guitarists are focused on pyrotechnics and shredding, she draws you in with beauty and subtlety, but without ever touching that saccharine New Age vibe. Yasmin Williams’ music makes me think and feel in equal measure, and that is the nicest thing I know how to say about it.
Thanks very much for this lovely tune. My eldest cat which I name School Cat has lymphoma and kidney disease, so every day I have to do subcutaneous fluid for him and we would listen to this tune and be at peace. School Cat was a stray and probably 20 years of age by now, he had seen and met all my 8 dogs that had passed now. He don't have much time but this song has made things easier for all of us.
Oh, how badly I'd love to hear Yasmin Williams and Leo Kottke perform together, each doing their thing from opposite ends of the seemingly same musical spectrum.
Thank you very much teacher, your arpeggios and beautiful melodies transport me to endless landscapes, where forgiveness and peace of mind are reunited with the present. And one can make peace with oneself, and with the universe from your chair, at 6am anywhere in the globe, your songs remind me the wind blowing in my face at a sunset, Master Yasmin mystical magic is your music. Thanks to you teacher. Thanks a lot master. Muchisimas gracias por esa musica de tan hermosa alma!
Wow really beautiful and lush ... an acoustic/sonic atmosphere that soothes the soul ~ the transition to and out of the lap position was so smooth and wonderfully woven into the overall piece and I love the intensity building towards the end with the harp bass really punching 🌤
Dear Ms. Williams, I'm so happy to have found you today, and wish it were sooner! As I watched and listened to this as the third song, I thought of some of my favorite artists such as: Robert Johnson, Big Mama Thornton, Henry Thomas, Son House, Guitar Slim, Leadbelly, Andés Segovia, Sister Rosetta Tharpe, Chuck Berry, Robert Lockwood Jr., Freddie King, Lightnin' Hopkins, John Lee Hooker, George Harrison, Robbie Krieger, Rabi Shankar, Earl Scruggs, Buddy Guy, Jimi Hendrix, Carlos Santana, Joe Walsh, Jimi Page, Alexandre Lagoya, Duane Allman, Gordon Lightfoot, Robin Trower, John Paul Jones, Tony Iommi, Robert Cray, Eddie Van Halen, Prince, Cliff Burton, Bonnie Raitt, Warren Haines, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Buckethead, Rich Robinson, Gary Clarke Jr., John Batiste, et. al. You are a master. Your inventiveness, talent, and beauty are incredible; words can't do justice. You may be my favorite of all, and I look forward to listening to more. Thank you for bringing it and sharing. Sincerely
Cannot remember the last time a guitarist provoked such a wide range of emotions from me. It has happened over the last few days since discovering the Tiny Desk. Kind Regards.
