  • Here we are comparing Alcoa's different finish types; LvL One, Mirror Polish, and Dura-Bright. These are Alcoa's most common finish options.
    The finish for Alcoa wheels is specified by replacing the 6th digit with the appropriate finish option.
    7 - LvL One Finish (Clean Buff finish)
    1 - Mirror polished outside only (Steer / Front / Pusher)
    2 - Mirror polished inside only (Drive / Rear / Trailer)
    Dura-Bright® Wheels are identified by adding “DB” at the end of the regular part number.

    I'm the designer of the EVO wheels logo and Alcoa product photographer (Europe), so nice to see this and very good explanation. Hard to show the difference with studio images.

      Yes it is tough to show people photos and we would always get a lot of questions on the finish differences. The video has really helped clear things up for customers.

    If you don't mind polishing your wheels than LVL One or Mirror Finish would be the way to go. Dura Brights are good, but if someone is not careful with the wheels when they're changing them than once it's scratched your not gonna be able to polish them out. Definitely wouldn't recommend Dura Brights on a dump truck, they'll have a better chance of getting scratched and messed up.

    Yeah the dura bright and mirror are the same thing. But if you a real chrome person. You still can tell the mirror finish is the one that stands out more. Dura just means less work to maintain. But mirror gives you that show quality shine

    Why don't they offer the mirror finish with the protective coating as on the Dura Bright???

    • @buytruckwheels6726
      @buytruckwheels6726 5 років тому +3

      The Dura-Bright is the Mirror Finish with the protective coating. The Dura-Bright process dulls the wheels slightly, that is all.

    what type of finish does a wheel have if it only has the alcoa sticker with no finish indicating sticker.

    • @Buytruckwheels
      @Buytruckwheels  5 років тому

      if it is a Blue Sticker it is most likely mirror finish, the LvL one wheels also have a blue sticker but it normally says LvL One as well.

    If I want to get the Ultra one wheels for the steering axle on my truck with the mirror polish, what option I have to choose? Option 1, polished outside only or option 2, polished inside only?

      Renegade products makes a great polish that's fast and easy to use. After polishing, use the (Sio2) Hydro Guard product to seal and protect the rims

      You can remove the finish and then polish like a traditional wheel.

      Your tire guy should be able to trade for a fresh set. Doing it that way isn't terribly expensive
