Id like to do this to my 1990 ranger can you walk me through how you did the whole drivetrain and all the parts? Witch transmition, transfer case. Bell housing, everything please
Those mirrors are stock mirrors for 2006+ Rangers. It's common to swap them onto older model rangers, especially ones with "flag" style mirrors. I did it on my 2000, you just cut the 3 bolt spacers off the new ones and they go right on.
What did you use for the transmission/transfer case (if it’s still 4x4), it does sound like it’s a standard transmission, still the M50DR1? And BW1354?
4bt can be found in any junkyard with bread trucks and old ups trucks or any of that nature as that's was their go to engine choice, you can use the entire drivetrain from them, the ranger can be picked up for less than 3k depending on location and then it's just wiring plumbing and various other machining sorts and boom 10kish later a rolling coal machine.
Neon BuNz you can use stock trans with an adapter plate and for the front suspension like a 2-3 inch spacer lift would make it not sag down in the front
@@jayfinesse8228 its pretty much a mechanical engine, only wiring REALLY needed is a hot wire going to the fuel shutoff solenoid and then wiring for the starter.
@@calebmartin6861 is the front suspension stock? if so is the transmission & transfer case also? your other video in the snow looked like an IFS front suspension
Front suspension was stock IFS then. ZF-5 transmission and BW-4406 t-case. I snapped the output shaft in an M5ODR2 with the stock turbo, which is the F-150 "big brother" of the Rangers M5ODR1.
shylildude There are so many variables in a build I wouldn't know where to begin! Engine: Acquire one cost, Need rebuilt? Do you have a shop? Having a Shop do it for you? Donor rig! What vehicle is this going into? Transmission! Drive lines built! Regearing differential or differentials ! Do you want A/C ? I have done conversions for as little as $3,000 or as expensive as $12,000 but my labor is free on all my projects! Do some research and you will either be amazed or saddened !
I don't know what I'm more jealous of, the ranger or the focus!
I want to see more of this! I love 4BT swaps
wow that thing is awesome, it sounds amazing!
I cant wait to compleat my swap. 4bt nv4500 atlas 2. In a scout 80.
Awesome! What turbo? Has it been dyno'd?

Anyone know of any post explaining what all they did or had to buy extra to do this?
Caleb Martin, Sounds bad ass man, any more videos coming out this cool swap?
I love the release on the turbo. Sexy
amazing build from video looks good and sounds good, kind of off topic question the mirrors stock or from another vehical or year?

A Cummins R2.8 cost 9k new.
SouthernWulf wrong motor bud

Sounds awesome!
what kind of axles did you use to hold all the weight of the engine?
The engine isn’t any heavier than the v6 that comes factory in those trucks the Cummins is only a small I4
@@Redneck_RC its an 800lb engine. 2x heavier than the factory v6s
goals
Turbos kickin in
I wouldn't mind swapping my Ranger, but isn't it a bit costly?
Do you have an exhaust brake installed?
Are you interested in selling
I have a ford ranger. What would you recommend I do to my suspension and transmission before putting this engine in?
Neon BuNz you can use stock trans with an adapter plate and for the front suspension like a 2-3 inch spacer lift would make it not sag down in the front
Neon BuNz but you would definitely want to use the 5 speed manual cause it would handle the torque
@@simoncorriere8209 so what wiring harness u need to convert the motor to run and what mounts for the engine

What kinda mpg are you getting?
Friend how many "mi" does this truck make with 1 US gal lqd of diesel and what is the power of this engine?
26, 105 horsepower 265 lb-ft torque
Isnt the 4bt too heavy for the ranger? Just asking!
Roberto Búrbano Nope! Holds the weight fairly well, and handles like stock.

@@calebmartin6861 gotcha. I'm guessing you have SAS'd the truck since then? Any videos of the build?
Where are you from? Beautiful Scenery
Like what state
He's from Pennsylvania
What transmission did you use
An M5odr2 in this video, it broke so now I'm running a ZF-5
thank you
just curious how you got the 4bt to hook up to the stock transmission?
Dustin, the M5r2 came in f150’s and the M5r1 came in rangers.
Do you need anything like an adapter to connect the transmission to the 4bt
CashBoi ya a machine shop could make one
How much would that cost you think
CashBoi prolly around like a 200-300
any in 2021?
what trans u use
lol I just found this video... I've been following you on instagram since way before the 4bt swap
my instagram is @ford.ranger.4x4
what mpg are you averaging?
About 26 mpg. I've only checked it once since I went back to 3.73 gears.
how much did the swap cost?
+shylildude you really shouldn't ask how much something is.
Then how is he suppose to know in case he wants to do the conversion himself?
