Wow what a year you and Tina have had in 2023. I am looking forward to following you guys in 2024. Your gas cap tip in a winner. I started doing the pocket thing a few years ago after losing way tooooo (won't say) many. I think the last one was when we were going to Nashville in 2022. You Won't believe it, I clicked on your New Years 1929 Drive, and it dropped my subscription to your channel. Got it back but it dropped it on two TV's and a computer. Like the Twilight Zone.

Wow. That is the quietest A I've heard. It's like you have start stop like in modern cars when stopped. You've got 1 golden gem. Happy new year paul and tina. I've been seeing A phaetons body come up for sale by me. Wonder if those are loud and limiting. Meaning can't drive them in rain or if cold cause even if there's a model a heater it wouldn't do beans. For some reason I'm debating on a tudor and fordor but heard talking to a bunch of people thr fordor has a lot more wood. But I love old cars with suicide doors.
The fordors (except the 31 slant window) are made of wood. If you find one with good wood in it, then don't sweat it. But if there is any soft wood in it, and you aren't prepared to replace, then pass on it. Open cars are FUN!! But not in the winter. Tina's roadster ain't going anywhere until it's warm again.
First Paul, happy new year, second you lubing that distributor cam reminds me of many years ago, when we lubed those cams, we had a small, green tube " Filco" printed on the side. Just a little bit on you index finger and little swipe on each face of the cam. I still have a tube of it in my tool box. haha
I absolutely love the channel! Im a chevy guy but my favorite classic ford is THE model A!!!! ive wanted one for a long time, maby one day I can find a good driver I dont want a garage ornament. The fact that that company is casting new engines is absolutely amazing! maby one day someome can make a model A car kit like the factory 5 cobras or something of that nature with modern components that are easily available.

I don't know where that started, but I have heard too many people repeating that false information lately. So, I squashed it. I think the web forums or something. Happy new year!
I add Lucas oil stabilizer to anything that sits for a long time, like my 31. Not because it raises viscosity, but because it sticks to everything really well and helps to protect parts after a long time sitting. That stuff is both super sticky and slippery at the same. Makes a great assembly oil when putting together engines and other parts. Far superior to assembly grease. Might be something to look into, nothing more than 10%.
First Paul congrats on you appointment. Scond, I just watched another model A car show. Made me think, how many model A's are in existence in the Us? I'm thinking ~ 100K?
I thoroughly enjoy your channel. You provide so much information on Model A's and have helped me quite a bit. I have 2 of them. A '30 coup that doesn't run and a '30 Tudor that I bought 6 years ago, that does run and drive. There is one problem that both have and that I have a question about. The doors on both sag on the aft part of the doors so that they don't line up with the body line and prevent them from closing tightly. What do you have to do to get the doors aligned up with the body. I thought that I had read somewhere that it has something with raising or lowering the cowl and/or the body. I don't know if that's true. Can you give an explanation (or maybe a vidy 😀) on how to fix this condition. I love them both but the door thing aggravates me. Any help would be awesome. Thank you and thank you for all you and your wife do!
On a tudor (metal body), that means you may need to shim the body and/or cowl sections to get everything to line up. I sorta touched on that a while back as part of a longer video. I will give some more info on that as I build the truck.

I'm not sure. It's an old one from an outfit that is no longer in business (got bought out). I'm the 3rd of 4th owner in my neighborhood. It keeps getting shuffled around my neighborhood.

I’ve got a kinda tech question ….. how to remove the rear hubs? I’ve tried prying the drum but a neighbor gave me a hub knocker and then flailed away. Is there a less aggressive way to get the rear drum off? Happy New Year to both of you.

@@muziklvr7776 That's one thing I don't have to worry about, plenty of hair. Most of the people my age have the yamika bald spot or the horseshoe hairline. I'm showing no signs of balding yet, but the white hair makes it look like I'm thinning even though I'm not. That solid Indian blood!! Redskins rule in the hair dept. Except from the neck down... I look like I'm 10.
The quietness is not isolated to the engine itself. It's a combination of lots of things. Once in a while you come across a restored car that is super quiet, but it is pretty rare.
Paul, I have some vintage Model A images, taken in 1959 showing Richard E. Williams' '28 Woody Wagon and a Model A Town Car. Also a pic of a 1900 Race car names 'Old 16." Could you use a thicker oil in the oiler like 75w90? I dont have a Model A but I was just curious in this instance since its not running through the engine.
What an awesome ride Paul. I sure hope that there isn't any truth to your governor's plan to ban all vehicles from 1978 on down. Lots of talk about it. I like Ca. but the leadership is too whacked out for me. For an original, isn't 91 octane a bit much?

The regular gas is probably used the most, so it' s the freshest possible.
Nice car! What do you think of the Model B? Is the 4 cylinder engine from the A a carry over to the B?

The car is so quiet and i want a Model A like that. So if you restore a model a does it loose its quietness in the engine?
The quietness is not isolated to the engine itself. It's a combination of lots of things. Once in a while you come across a restored car that is super quiet, but it is pretty rare.
Has the stripe been rubbed off the body? I couldn't see it.
There is almost none of the french gray stripe left. Whatever paint they used wasn't nearly as tough as the blue.
