Similar polygons are proportional. They can have the same size. They can be congruent . The scale factor = 1 (ratio = 1:1). Are congruent polygons similar? Always. Is a square a rectangle? Always. Also, by going from small shape to big, the scale factor = 3/2. The original (starting) shape is the denominator.
Wouldn't the scale factor be 3/2? When doing scale factor don't we want the original measures in the denominator? That way we can link this concept to the concept of dilations, in this case an enlargement.
