Fun fact: Zach's friend has since revealed they loaded his spades hand while he had the "-itis" just to mess with him.

I'm white, but lived in a mostly black town and community when I grew up as a child in the 70's. I've been to so many cookouts and in the 70's and 80's, I can't count. Always had a wonderful time. You don't turn down good food.

Nobody cared in the 70’s. No it wasn’t prefect, but it was way better than now.

@Delet322 the civil rights act of 1964 and 6 yrs later, is it better than now?? I just can't see it. The MEDIA makes you believe it's a sh*t show now, but it isn't. Yes, you will always find places that are racist, but worse than it was in the 70s, I can't believe it.

I heard that the guys at the table fixed his spades hand (while he was in his food coma), so that he had the best hand ever just so they could mess with him 😁

When I was a teenager, my family attended the AME Zion Methodist church. Other than one elderly couple, we were the only white family in the place. I loved it, because on my first visit, I immeadiately had a bunch of new grandmas, grandpas and cousins. They weren't just Sunday friends. We were always at their houses, and they were always at our house. In good times and bad, we were all there for each other.
Anyway, I can't even remember how many cookouts I've been to. I never learned how to play Spades, but all those women taught me how to cook soul food. So if the Lord should pair me up with a black man, I'm set. 😊

LMAO.😆 When he said shooting bones ,I'm with him I was lost .Here in Arizona & Louisiana when someone says your turn to wash them bones,it means mix up the pile of dominoes.Me being a white female I used to hang around older black men in my day & let me tell you I can play a mean game of dominoes.I astonished folks when I'd slap done a bone real hard & score over & over.Great memories.Plus the older men who taught me the game was teaching me how triffeling woman are n what kind of man to stay away from..I miss those men even today ..Sam,Lee, Rowe, & Tommy I know your playing up their in Heaven , I'll see you all soon ,,& it will be a good time again..Loved this .Ty Shon

Been there. I did a black cookout and right next door did a Mexican Cincenera. I found a hundred bucks in my pocket for her present. The goat was much better than I thought it would be. The fajitas were heavenly. Now,I'm part of the family. I had a blast.

When I was in the Army a friend invited me to a Vietnamese community dinner and I was the only white person there. Like Zach I felt rather uneasy because I didn't know the customs and I couldn't understand a word which was being spoken around me, although everyone spoke to me in English. But as with Zach it turned out to be great. The people were very welcoming and the food was terrific.

Same thing here my bf didn’t tell his family I was white and they were not nice to me the first time . He actually took me home went back and then came to see me he asked me if I would give everyone a second chance i said of course. The food smelled so so good. And the next time was much better. That was six years ago and I am still with this fantastic man. And love his family to death. And they seem to accept me and like me too.

I have been to some cookouts. It's always a good time with good food. They actually let me bring food to it, though, because I know what seasoning and flavor are, lol. My mom's potato salad was a huge hit, and everyone was surprised when she shared the recipe with anyone who asked, and it wasn't some kind of kept secret. 😂😂😂
