Y'all need to check out Hail The Sun, Donovan sounds almost exactly like Anthony just a little grungier. He also does Nova Charisma and Sianvar. I'd check out their Elephantitas EP or their album Wake to start.
The crazy thing is Anthony has been singing like this for damn near 20 years! In both Saosin and Circa. He's an absolutely PHENOMENAL vocalist. I've seen him in both of these bands over the last 4 years and he's SPOT ON. 2 bands I think you would be interested in checking out for some crazy vocalists are A Skylit Drive, with Jag being one of the highest pitched male rock vocalists I've ever heard. And Protest the Hero, as what i would describe as "operatic metalcore" lol.
Yessss. That had Anthony and Craig Owens. Some good stuff. Every group AG has been in has been golden. And I always love his solo stuff. And without him, I would have never found Good Old War.
This guy went to the high school I went to. Apparently he is an EXTREMELY nice guy. From what I've seen, he likes to hang out with the people waiting in line for his shows, even playing a few songs for them on his acoustic.
YESSSSS. I've seen him and Circa Survive separately around 10 times. He's SUCH a cool guy. Never known a more genuine being such as himself. He makes you feel comfortable and loved at his and circa's shows. Just saw him again Sept. 14 in Garden Grove. He never hides from being himself. 👍👍👍👍
you picked a very intense song for him. he has so many other songs that are much more melodic and soft that really exhibit his voice more. definitely check those out to see
The Amulet is by far my favorite performance of his: ua-cam.com/video/tuPHC5XUAr0/v-deo.html I think his vocals are elevated by the interplaying guitar melodies on a level no song before has captured for him and it's an absolute masterpiece to my ears. To be fair the entire album is golden.
@benpdr10 taking circa's whole discography into consideration this is one of the weakest singles they've released imo. And I still like the song, it's a solid 6 or 7 but there are many better circa songs

I saw circa survive in the house of blues in New Orleans and after the show he stood on the street and had a conversation with every single person who came to talk to him as they all came out. Nicest guy I've ever met in that situation. And no he doesn't have a high voice talking normally. It's as regular as mine. But the dude preforms that way live and also treats his fans with the upmost respect.
Anthony Green is one of my favorite vocalists. From the various bands to the solo work, I’ve been in love through it all. I’ve had the pleasure of seeing him live and I’ll tell you this, he sounds even better in person. Such a unique sound. I also have a ton of respect for him, keeping up with his passions for music and raising 4 beautiful children with his wife. Must be so hard juggling it all but he just always looks so happy.
Anthony has said before has no idea how to scream lol he just does it. His Twitter is awesome, he answers a lot of questions ppl have about his voice. It also seems to constantly be changing but in a good way.
Anthony is a great person to talk to. I’ve met him at most of the Circa concerts I’ve been too. And he has remembered me the last few times I see them. His speaking voice is oddly as you said has bass. It’s like high but also deep for his octave his voice is at. This man is a musical genius and a genuine awesome person to have a conversation with.
You should 10000% see Circa Survive live. Every member is extremely solid every time, Anthony ALWAYS engages the crowd to make it a sing-with-anthony experience, and they are genuinely some of the nicest people you will ever meet in your life. Oh and tickets are usually like 20 bucks. There's no reason to not see him live. Actually doing a 10 year of Blue Sky Noise tour right now.
I saw him perform with Circa 4 times and once for TTOC with Saosin in 2016! My like was made. The crowd chanted “show me your bootyhole” but they didn’t play it……
I would recommend listening to Through the Desert Alone from this Myspace Session. It is a bit more melodic and toned down and gives a bit more of a variety. Circa is one of my favorite bands of all time. And Anthony is such a sweet guy. Would love to see more! 😁
Everything Anthony does is healthy with his voice I’ve been a fan of his for over 15 years and he’s always consistent and never off! He also brings the same level of energy day in day out
It’s a healthy scream for his voice , he took lessons from Melissa Cross in his early career ! Anthony Green is truly unique ^.^ he’s been screaming most all of his music career
Hello Beth! Anthony is one of my favorite artists. What I find most impressive about him is not even his voice (don't get me wrong, it's quite impressive), but the fact that he participates in so many amazing projects (Circa Survive, Saosin, The Sound of Animals Fighting, his solo career) ) as a parent of 4 kids (!) and one of the nicest person I've ever seen in the music industry. His live performances are amazing, he delivery and connects completely with the audience. If you have the time, take a look at their recent presentation @ Esao Andrews Art Exhibition, it was a really magical moment!
His voice is amazing and there are other songs where his voice is even more calm, Get Out is so so high. I really admire Anthony and his voice is unique, and yes.. his regular voice is pretty normal
Would love to see you look over more of him and circa survive he has so much power in his voice and lyrics hes a very moving vocalist and lyricist you've really only scratched the surface of what eminence power hes got its absolutely breathtaking If I'd have to pick one song I'd suggest circa survives fever dreams but if I could I'd suggest whole albums because they really tell a story that just hits the heart in the most amazing ways
@@JustCammie His speaking voice does match his singing voice tonality wise; however, he speaks at lower pitches than I would expect for a high tenor like him. I was watching a 3 year old interview and he was speaking from an A2 to a C3 which to me is kind of low pitches for a high tenor to speak at. When he was younger and being interviewed for Saosin in 2003, he definitely spoke a lot higher in pitch.
Beth Roars And for a slightly harder band, check out He Is Legend. Their last couple EP’s and full lengths have been great. Kind of a post hardcore, southern hard rock band. Schuylars voice is so good both in their harder and softer songs. His lyrics are impressive, as well. “China White II” is super dark, but the theme/storyline is incredible.
Anthony Green will always be a real-life tangible embodiment of a siren to me. Juturna and On Letting Go were a surreal experience of a vocalist hypnotically pulling in and speaking to the subconscious state. Sounds silly when I write it out. But I've told people before that the "ah-ha" trick that made cult-like fans out of their first two albums, was Circa Survive's clever use of binaural patterns with the guitars behind Anthony Green's siren songs. Good video.
Beth, you should check out some of Anthony's newer live vids. Especially acoustic ones. His FB live performance from a few years back is still on his FB page. This is, in my mind, isn't the greatest display of his talents. This was a period of change for anthony, were he was about at the end of the period where he would be singing this harshly, this much. The way he performs this song now is very different. Check out something like his "trolley" performance where it's just him and a guitar.
I don’t know if there are any Cove Reber fans here, but do check out Saosin - I Can Tell live DVD. Cove’s performance during that show is insane. (Some say it’s auto tuned in post production, but who knows) Alternatively, there’s an acoustic performance of Cove singing Seven Years in a shop-like setting. That’s definitely NOT tuned, and the performance is good (imo).
James Yusof I love that whole performance but yea his voice is being tuned. Cove was known for not having good live vocals. He struggled a lot and more as time went on. But considering all of the performances are on spot for this whole show it shows more than likely his voice is being tuned. Even more so when you hear 3rd measurement in C.

When you go to a show you feel like family. Everyone around you is so chill and i have never seen a fight break out during their set. I teared when i saw him 10 years ago and just a few years ago i had chills the whole set for their on letting go tour. His vocals have aged like fine wine ❤
I've seen anthony live with circa and saosin. It's literally amazing. He is freaking tops in my book. Also keep him in yalls thoughts and prayers. He recently [few months ago] relapsed :( and I dont recall his voice being real high pitched. Hes just freaking amazing.
I want to point out that the reason Anthony Green's speaking voice is much more baritonal in quality than the upper register of his singing voice is because he's a Leggiero Tenor. I've been told that Leggiero Tenors have a Baritonal lower register, and (if they are untrained) they have a falsetto-like sounding upper register. Their voices are extremely light and they are the Male equivalent to the Coloratura Soprano. Anthony hasn't been using his full voice up at the top of his upper register anymore as I believe it has taken a toll on his voice. He has been using falsetto to compansate for not using his upper register, and I think it was a great decision on his part. It'll keep his voice in much better shape, imo.

Thanks for this Beth Roars! Anthony must be one of the most hardworking musicians around. Sorry I was spamming over your videos to react to him but I'm glad you didn't ignore it unlike any other vocal reactors.
I would love to see her do a reaction to Dickie Allen from Infant Annihilator LOL But being realistic, I think Sam Carter from Architects is a great person to dissect as a vocalist.
Anthony Green’s voice is completely nuts. He makes it work for him, the obvious energy and emotion he puts into his work shows and is returned if you have ever seen him live in any of the bands he is apart of or solo work. He speaks pretty normal too.
Hey !!! React to mexican singer “Leonel García” with the song “Para Empezar” live in concert ! You can search it in youtube as: Leonel García Para Empezar En Vivo Acústico. I promise you wont regreat it...he is such a great singer

Her: sounds like a baby crying Me: how dare she insult Anthony green like that. His tone and vocal range for how long he's been in the game is extraordinary
Right?!! It's also amazing how he sounded just as good before he quit doing coke and getting shitfaced constantly. I'd listen to post lobotomy Anthony Green sing because I'm convinced he couldn't have a bad voice if the fate of humanity depended on it.
That's actually a compliment. Babies have the ability to scream for hours without hurting their vocal cords. The fact that he is so loose and tensionless is amazing.
His latest album "The Amulet" has a more "live performance sound/feel" to it. The whole album is enchanting, if you have an open mind and heart. Some strange lyrics If you ask me (I love them). A few of my favorite songs include: Lustration. At night it gets worse, The amulet, The hex. Stay, and Never tell a soul. They're awesome, check them out if you haven't. I would definitely recommend!

💛
Same for everytime I saw him except the last concert in philly I saw circa at, they really were weak.
@@mikezeigler1 must have had an off day or some shit. Last September was the last time I saw em and they were killer as per usual! I saw them once on shrooms and.... Well, kinda terrifying but amazing at the same time hahahaha
Thank you for being the only vocal coach reacting to Anthony Green.
"That sounds terrifying" with the biggest smile 😄
YESSSS I love Anthony Green and when I found your channel I was hoping to find his song up here
That performance is unreal
i've seen circa survive and his other projects many times over the years and consistant is DEFINITELY a way to describe Anthony's voice. he sounds amazing every time I see him, as good as the album or better sometimes. This band has meant so much to me, I have their lyrics tattooed on me.
His speaking voice is exactly the same haha
Thanks for this Beth Roars! Anthony must be one of the most hardworking musicians around. Sorry I was spamming over your videos to react to him but I'm glad you didn't ignore it unlike any other vocal reactors.
I really hope you react to one of his solo songs or more Circa but studio versions. He's incredibly refined now
Circa is still the best band I've ever seen live. I see them every time they come to town.
All the singers today try to sing like him in my honest opinion. But that's because he's so awesome.
I always thought it looked like he had so much tension, but he's been doing it just like that for 20+ years. His voice is just built to do that.
Seen him live like 5 time. Even crazier sounding in person
I've seen saosin a few times but never with Anthony. Cove is ok be he not Anthony
When vocal coaching falls out, you surely have a modeling career ahead of you. Stunningly beautiful.
"metal" ... metal... why doesn't know what post hardcore is :(
It’s all subgenres of metal
You've covered 2 of my top 5 bands in 2019 and I love you for that. Thank you.
Hey !!! React to mexican singer “Leonel García” with the song “Para Empezar” live in concert !
You can search it in youtube as:
Leonel García Para Empezar En Vivo Acústico.
I promise you wont regreat it...he is such a great singer
Watching him crowd surf from the Warped Tour stage to the Atlantic Ocean in Atlantic City, after an amazing performance, was definitely a highlight of my life
:O Can't believe you did Circa :D Awesome! For fun vocalists to watch and listen to I'd recommend Mew (band) - amazing guitar and the vocalist is just... dreamy.
As I start this, you can't humanly hear Anthony as anything other than beautiful and ungodly clean. One of the best vocalists of our generation.
DANCE!
Lol "I wonder if he speaks like this" and you sounded almost exactly like him
I mean he’s an all-time talent really. His range and consistency is insane. Ultra unique voice.
You should react to "your so dead meat" by Anthony green. It's one of his solo songs
silver scape thiisss thooo omg the live is like ughhhh 😭when he screams at the end
silver scape that is my favorite song bruh I love
yess or keep your mouth shut, thats one of my personal favorites
One of my favorite singers and lyricists. He's great live I love his state presence.
I like how she compared him to the dude from Greta van fleet not knowing Anthony was touring with bands while singer from Greta van fleet was waiting for the school bus. 😂Anthony is an amazing performer and puts so much into his live performances. Nice video!
I got that too but she only knows what she knows. So many good bands out there that are just not known. Pretty sad people don't explore on their own.

It’s so good Beth. For some reason it’s so damn good.
Please react to Slaves - The Pact.
Best emotional vocal performance I've heard by far.
😆
Yes! Anthony Green is my absolute favorite singer, and the one that inspired me to learn to sing
He looks like he building a lot of tension. not sure how heathy it is.
Marillion the great escape live
great video!! i love this band!!
Would love to see you do Copeland. Aaron Marsh has one of my favorite voices.
"If you find yourself here on my side of town"
Seen them three times. Some of the most amazing live performers. Amazing energy.
Her: sounds like a baby crying
Me: how dare she insult Anthony green like that.
Saw them front row twice during the Blue Sky Noice tour. They are amazing live.
This performance wasn't his best performance. He even forgot some lyrics on here, lol.
zensei999 I agree, I was sad this is what she reviewed. He has much much better
Yeah it was jarring
He changes lyrics all the time in live performances. Idk if it’s intentional but I wouldn’t be surprised.
Through the desert alone is a really amazing performance from this session.
Seen them like 16 times now ;)) ❤️ I love AG and Circa survive
"That sounds terrifying"
That's Anthony Green, my red-haired beauty. He speaks to those who are terrified by the shitty world we live in.
4:12 just wanted to replay this until my phone’s dead 😂😂❤❤❤
React to Jonny Craig
His latest album "The Amulet" has a more "live performance sound/feel" to it. The whole album is enchanting, if you have an open mind and heart. Some strange lyrics If you ask me (I love them). A few of my favorite songs include: Lustration. At night it gets worse, The amulet, The hex. Stay, and Never tell a soul. They're awesome, check them out if you haven't. I would definitely recommend!
