It is because those businesses are not focusing on long-term profits but rather the short-term . They will never see the bigger picture and future losses they'll experience in the long run.Customer loyalty is very important now, look how you'll influence your other friends not to buy from her.

I understand the no refund part but the part where you refuse to give back a customer’s excess money is just dumb cause you’ll lose a lot of customers with such silliness.
