  • Liam and I forage aronia berries in the middle of Stockholm city and made jam. Aronia berries, also known as black chokeberries, are rich in vitamins B, C, E and minerals. The berries have useful antioxidants that strengthen our immune system.
    Here is the recipe
5 cups of fresh black chokeberries
    1 1/2 cups water
    600 grams of sugar
    2 tbsp lemon juice
Rinse the berries well and boil them with water for 20-30 min.
Add sugar and lemon juice and let the jam boil until thickened, about 10 minutes.
    Remove pot off the stove
Pour the hot jam into warm and disinfected glass jars

When I learned about these 5-6 years ago I planted them, 4 bushes, and this is my second year making jam. When they first fruited, I added them to smoothies, now theres so many!

I am making choke/blueberry jam. I added ginger and some
Lemon zest and lemon juice. So yummy. O.S, you can add monk fruit or stevia instead of sugar, if you are a diabetic. I substituted sugar for Agave syrup and monkfruit.

It's darn tasty. I do also add a handful or berries to my smoothie in the morning to add more nutrients.
