I'm 16 and recently went vegan and I'm looking into ways to go in a more zero waste direction this was very helpful ☺️
hiraeth me too, has been interesting discovering new products 😊
Ugh, you're so lucky. Just yesterday i say to my dad that i want to go vegan and asked if he could buy more fruits, he laughed in my face :(
hiraeth good job and good luck I hope you enjoy being vegan I might go vegan but it's a big step I'm going to put a lot of thought into this
Isabelle jean-Louis then you should wait for when you are older... or trying to change their minds (which I know for sure is not easy). keep yourself with that mindset until you grow up and can buy your own food. all the luck to you!
I went vegan too recently 😄 have a nice day 😊😊
A whole new world just opened up to me :O
+Renske050 saaame omg. are you going to make the switch? i made some for my last cycle and every time i finished sewing, i needed another pad so i sewed a bunch :)
Renske050 yes omg prove him wrong
i told my mom and she thinks im a weirdo lol
btw its not even gross... its natural :)
Renske050 wait how are you going to wash and dry them if he's grossed out?
Renske050 I washed mine while i showered, so no one knew what i was doing! you could try that :)
Renske050 i see what you mean but i still live with my parents since im 17 and they might force me to use regular pads unless i keep my cloth ones hidden for awhile. so me and my sister have to be super stealthy when we wash them so we wash them in the shower
I use these and I can say that it is so much healthier. I feel better, more comfortable and I save money. Plus They stay in place and help the environment.
This is a great video!! I'm just now learning that's there's an alternative to plastic pads. I don't know why I didn't think of it when I'm a strong advocate for cloth diapers. Hahaha. Thank you!!
Great tutorial, I'm using some of your tips to make my own. :)
Just so you know, there's a type of fabric called zorb, which is super duper absorbent. It's used in reusable menstrual products and diapers. Not too expensive. If you're really into this it might be worth looking into.
I love how open and positive you are about this. :)
Thanks a lot I'll look for it in the stores and tell you what I think :)
I got mine online, along with the plastic clasps (I really like them both).
this tutorial is so straight forward its perfect. ive seen so many that lose me after a minute. I cant wait to get sewing
This is the perfect video 😂 I've tried to sew some cloth pads, and the pattern wouldn't work for me, but this video saved my life, I swear haha
I am absolutely in love with your Pokemon fabric!!
Do you have an Etsy shop? If not, you should consider making one! I want to buy some lol
Thank you so much! I've been looking for ways to make my own pads. It's so important to talk about ways to help women's health and the health of the planet, so thank you for being brave and sharing this with us.
i just watched several videos on how to make these pads, I like the way you make them the best, good instructions. I also really love the zipper pouch you made for them, too. Thank you!
The pads and wet bag look so cute!
thank you. A QUIET video descriptive and without babble. Well done. You are an inspiration.
I realy used to have rashes n itching wit plastic pads so i started using my old clean t shirt...i dont sew dem bt bt du tear dem apart n n fold ...way much comfortable
I just figured out about reusable pads then I found your video.
I love how colorful and cute reusable pads look!!!
great diy!
and I love the pokemon wet bag!
terry cloth fabric is perfect to use for the inner part. its a good absorbent. they sell it at joanns for $10.99 a yard
Thank you so much...I'm an old school girl (27) and I lovvveeee things like this.
Wow! I love your idea of the wet bag! I’ve been wanting to make the cloth pads for sometime now, but was searching for a way to transport them and the used pad. Genius! Thanks so much for sharing. ♥️
I read a research that stated that females use 11000 period products (pads, tampons etc) in their lifetime imagine how much we could save money and most importantly help save the environment.
I really love the pokemon print bag. Thank you for this tutorial!! ☺️
they look so cute! Thank you for sharing.
wow, thank you soo much for the video, sister! It looks not as hard as I imagine it to be, gonna try to make my own someday!
I love everything that is environmentally friendly and that contributes for progression and i always have in mind the question of how the heck to switch from freaking pads to something environmentally friendly because i cant use tampons or eco tampons i just cant. Thanks a lot for this video.
Do you sell the wet bags ? I love the little Pokémon fabric ! Where did you get it? You shouldn’t be shy or ashamed to speak of something natural. You are a living human being. A strong empowered woman who simply gets her period still. All women get their periods! At some point in their life! Thank you for speaking up! I love cloth pads. Working on my stash. Need to get a fabric like the one you have!
Oh I Just Love it! And You use and didn' t mix dirty with clean cause They are so fashion with those colors .Congratulations..!!
Very cool! I saw these in a shop and bought some and it worked brilliantly. I will also try and make my own. Thanks so much for sharing! More people should be talking about these things. Normal pads have so many chemicals in them they are actually harmful for women.
I just needed a new way to make my pads lol thanks
Thanks there needs to be more women aware of how much waste goes into the landfill and do there part
nice fabric. will try, thank you:-)
These are so cute! Great tutorial and it was super helpful!
Thank you so much for a great tutorial. 👏👏👏

Mine won't look so cute but I'll try my best!
I’m shook
I’m hoping to be able to make a lot of these and give these to girls and women who are homeless and don’t have any supplies 😊 wish me luck. I’m only 13 but I know how to sew and I hope I can do it
Thank you very clear explanation good video!
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 Awesome video.
OH MY GOD THANK YOU
Thank you so much! I appreciate this very much!
Since your videos are slightly out of focus due to you trying to make the lighting better, try buying an artificial light for your videos! I really love your content and look forward to seeing you progress into better materials needed for the amazing work you do. Enjoyed the video and hope this helped!
This is gonna sound weird as hell, but... I mean... Anyway, my girlfriend says that her store bought pads are uncomfortable, so I thought I might make her some of these, no special reason just to be nice :)
Thank you for being so considerate)
Thank you for being so considerate)
You are a good man
Completely forgot I made this comment until I got a reply on it, Quick update for you all: After they were made, I gave them to her (I'm no sewer) and she smiled and said "I love the thought you put into these, Thank you!" ... They fell apart as she was holding them 😂 Later that day she thought me how to hand stich and I made a second set that actually stayed together this time. And I also learned that my girlfriend is a huge fan of Camo.
Thanks for sharing this tutorial! Very well done! :) And I love your wet bag! ^_^
This is awesome! Thank you!
Jajakallahu khairan.
Hi this is a beautiful idea. I'm currently researching on what fabrics to use. I want to make a bunch and distribute to homeless women. Can you please let me know what kind of fabric you used for the lining? Seems like an absorbent material and plastic?
I'm 22 years old and I am wanting to do the get into reusable pads.
I want to do this! So cool thank you!
How absorbent are these?
Awesome super helpful cool thanks
nice thanks for your video it was really helpful I really liked it good job love it
hi, nice video
what type of absorbency do these pads have? how many hours can i wear these pads?
thank you.
What's your sewing machine 's name please?
Hope this video is on your Arabic channel as well. Bravo and continue up the great work!
Great wet bag tutorial .
What is the blue think un the side of the pad
I use a mooncup myself. But i will be making these to go inside my Christmas Boxes.
Hi Angie! This is a great video, thanks for all the explanations 😊 I would like to try to make some pads with my sewing machine.. could you please give me the exact names of all the materials you used for the layers? Thanks a lot 🙏🏻☺️
Love them
Thank you very much.
I really need this because my grandma won't buy me a pad because she thinks its dangerous even though I have my period years ago. 😭😭😊
Thank you for a great video. I know this sounds weird but I am new to this idea, so how does the pad stay in the underwear?
Thanks so much :)
Usually, I try to dedicate underwears for these pads. So I pick the underwear that is least slippery material in comparison to the pad material. for example, cotton pads with fleece is a great combo etc...
Very useful info thank you
Thank you for this video!
This is a great idea and all looks good. However one part I am still lost before starting this project. Once the moisture is soaked in the terry or microfibre or zorb whatever, how will you make sure that will not get through the panty. Don't you insert any water resistant or waterproof fabric under the cloth to prevent soaking into panty. Let me know your thought how you handle the situation
You can use pull for « heavy » days it’s a plastic fabric it’s what most companies use to make them waterproof
What was the plastic barrier you used...was it an Amazon package bag ?
Can u attach Velcro to the back so the larger pads to move n wrinkle/bunch up?
I love the video. Just how do you make them thicker or is the nylon thick?
I got a menstrual cup today, but personally it doesn't work for me. This video really helped me put!
Great video. Thanks
Thanks for showing me!!!
Hi, i really enjoy the way you did your video. The writing and demonstration with the background makes one to focus and follow up what you are doing. We are looking forward to producing EcoPads at our fashion designing and textile recycling workshop, EcoDesigns and this video is great and we look forward to connecting with you and sharing with you what we are doing in Cameroon, Africa. Hope to contact you in case we have any questions.
Nice job but I’m wondering how u put a nylon for the absorbency part?
I hope this isn't too weird a question, but what sewing machine do you have and do you like it?
It's a brother sewing machine and it's ok to ask definatlly. And yes it's easy to use and there is couple of helpful videos for all the models for brother online :)
How u wash these pads . Is it realy get clean feeling for reusing them.
👌Sister, can u tell me ur sewing machine's name ?
Thanks you for sharing sister....
Just learning about this now and this video is 4 years old??
So helpful 🌸 thanks
Wonderful work .... Thank u
What a lovely video. Thanks so much for sharing--Just wondering if we don`t have a wet bag [to carry them in our bag] would a pencil case do ??
+Jean Mc thanks a lot. And yes you can but it has to be thick nylon pencil case, look for one that blocks the smell and any leaking try it out before actually using it.
Woah! Do you have an Etsy? I would buy these from you
But what if you just made one and you have to use it but you needed to wash it first?
Also great video! 😁
What was that blue thing u put in the middle?
But will this stop leakage
Can we use this for 12 hours
hi!
I really enjoy your content, channel, and cinematography, but your videos are always slightly out of focus, even though I can tell your camera is really HD, and the audio quality is really low.
I really like your videos, so maybe it's just an issue with your camera!
xoxo
+naomireads I use a 50mm fixed lens with a low aperture so that the lighting become better. I'm still learning on it. Thanks for the advice so much :) as for the audio sometimes it records better than the other times I don't know what's really wrong with it.
Thanks for liking my channel a lot!
Can you do a video on how you wash them please?
Thanks for sharing.
I’m try to become waist free this is ok cool x
can You use old nylon t shirts
where did you get the nylon and is it for absorbs
The Nylon I reused from an old baby carpet (used for underneath babies when changing diapers). and it absorbs really well. you can use any nylon and if you're afraid it won't work put 2 layers of it or more.
Best of luck :)
@@angie.salama is the nylon the part that absorbs menstrual flow? how does it get cleaned? thank you
from where they are available?
Waao its Amazing😍
How many should you make to start??
It really depends on your flow. I have a medium to light so four or five will be great for you. If you have heavy one I assume 10 minimum. Good luck let me know how it works with you :)
Angie OS can I add in cotton-wool in for extra absorbing? Also, awesome video :)
Meghan The Anonymous cotton quilt batting would work well, provided you quilted it in say 2" squares (you can quilt a large piece and cut what you need) so it doesnot bunch up.
Cute
How would you properly clean them?
So I usually follow these steps:
1. when I need to change a pad I rinse it with water in the bathroom and keep it in the wet bag with no blood. (i do that if I am out of my house usually)
2. I go home and in a small pan with cold water treat spots and wash it with antibacterial detergent.
3. I boil some water and put all of them in it before using them again to kill germs or anything like that.
4. Keep them stored in a clean place for the next use.
Hope that helped, and if you want I can make a video to show step by step what I do :)
Angie OS Thank you for replying that really was helpful. A video would be a great idea because I'm still concerned about the dry process.
Shanice Palmer will plan a video for u then for sure :)
Omg you're so great!! I can't wait to see it!❤️💜
Angie www
