I remember buying this on video when I was 17 and sneaking it in the house, under my shirt, so that my parents wouldn’t see it. That movie is so special to me, even now.
I have still never seen a wlw film as tender and special to me as this one. When people ask what my favourite queer women film is, it's this one. I can't think of another that even comes close. I also think there are so few good queer women films and the fact that this one from the 90s and there still hasn't been a better one speaks volumes about the industry.
Sorry but that speaks nothing about the industry but only about how nostalgic and attached you're to that film. There have been countless of lesbian films since that are just as good or even better but you just don't have any special connection to them.
@@shougokawada8491 I wasn’t even born until 1998 😂 How can I be nostalgic for a film I only watched for the first time a few years ago? Such as? And I do have connections to other films 😂
This movie profoundly moved me in so many ways. It is so isolating being a lesbian, even in 2024! For a piece of art such as this movie to have been made three years before I was born... well it just makes me feel grateful. Thank you to these artists!
I was born in the year this came out and didn’t know about it until I saw it on Netflix as well. We have a lot more representation of men loving men but sapphic films and shows even now are so hard to come by… and especially ones told so well and where the ending isn’t horrific or tragic. A beautiful film and even more so with an all women crew and storytelling. So glad I was able to find such a gem! 🌈🦋✨
@@yolandamofork7632 I'm so glad this movie resonates with the four of us so much. I literally just discovered this movie; came out years before I was born.
Please do a sequel to it! You both all grown up and seeing each other again after all these years!! Omg I would watch it and drool over it! Thank you for the representation you gave me when no one around me was like me. Thank you! You made me feel normal and that it was ok to love who I wanted to love and not commit suicide. You saved my life!
@EmilyNewman-gr7mt there's some random UA-cam videos of it I saw one that was in Spanish I hope they all aren't like that, but it's on Netflix too if you have that
That was great. LOVE that movie so much. And Maria's other movies as well, like Puccini for Beginners. But this one was very important to me and I still think about it all the time. I've followed Laurel ever since. Seen everything she's done.
Such a great film. I couldn't put my finger on it beforewhen I watched it back in the day, but I just now realize how Laurel plays Randy it kinda remind me of Michael J Fox a little. Certain mannerisms.
so cute. :) Yes, it was groundbreaking. :) And it was rolemodels for teenagers like me back then, that we desperatly needed and appreciated. It made me strong and visable to have a movie like that growing up !
SO CAN WE GET A PART TWO...LIKE WHERE THEY'RE STILL TOGETHER OR LIKE STILL FRIENDS AT LEAST 😢 BECAUSE THE ENDING WAS CRAZY WE SHOULDA AT LEAST GOT A PART TWO 😀. I just watched this movie yesterday 😂😂😂😂. I'm 19, and I snuck and watched it on Netflix. At my big age
The first film I saw as a gay girl with another girl in a public movie theatre. Too funny: all these years later, I was listening to the soundtrack a day ago, lol!
It’s from the 90’s. Sadly, I don’t know where to watch it legally, but there’s a playlist with most of the movie on UA-cam. Although it can probably be bought somewhere

I feel the same way I was trying to find lesbian movies on Netflix and stumbled upon this one, such a good film!

Well said Laurel! Groundbreaking! The first time I saw the movie I thought it was well out of its own time. I truly wish for a sequel one day ❤.
I love this movie so much, it’s one of my absolute favourites.
Laurel, you're AMAZING inside and out!
I'm watching it on VHS now!!
That was great. LOVE that movie so much. And Maria's other movies as well, like Puccini for Beginners. But this one was very important to me and I still think about it all the time. I've followed Laurel ever since. Seen everything she's done.
I never seen this film before & I’m excited just by reading the comments !
Love Laurel !!! ❤
this movie brought me into myself at such a young age. This movie will forever be in my heart.

Qual nome do filme?
Gracias por vídeo!! Son un amor las dos, y verlas tan orgullosas con la peli me hace súper feliz 😭💘
you guys worked great together, need to make another film..
Amo a Laurel, fantástica 💕
First lesbian movie I bought on dvd. One of my favorites! I call it my “classic collection.”
This makes so much sense 😮❤❤❤❤
I love this so much 😭
The best movie I watched as a young lesbian…and none of them died! So many movies back then had to kill off at least one lesbian or gay character.
Never heard of this movie but love both actresses I'll check it out one day.
My first gay film! I love them both.
laurel,u are goodness❤❤❤love u soooo much
Beautiful movie.
Ohhh... lov this.. ❤❤❤
Laurel ❤️
Really good movie!
I'd put Nicole in The L Word, as Tina's old teenage love, vying for her with Bette. Only that. Love u girls!!
Nicole is so gorgeous, and still is 👌🏼

Nicoles eyes are mesmerizing, gorgeous women
This was one of the first movies I watched when I realized I was gay 😌
OMG Do a Reunion of #TwoGirlsInLove
Omggg this is so adorable 🥰:)

They were both in Boogie Nights but they didn’t have any scenes together
I Love Nicole!😍😍😍

When was the film released? Where can I watch it?
It’s from the 90’s. Sadly, I don’t know where to watch it legally, but there’s a playlist with most of the movie on UA-cam. Although it can probably be bought somewhere
It’s on Criterion Channel
You get a free trial too if you’ve never signed up before
1995 I actually have it ☺️ I found it on UA-cam but I can't watch it because it says "Not Available in my country"
It's on Netflix
I was 16 when watched this on IFC and I was just realizing I was gay for the first time.
