Laurel Holloman (Randy Dean) and Nicole Ari Parker (Evie Roy) talk about their experiences on The Incredibly True Adventure of Two Girls in Love (1995).
I remember buying this on video when I was 17 and sneaking it in the house, under my shirt, so that my parents wouldn’t see it. That movie is so special to me, even now.
This movie profoundly moved me in so many ways. It is so isolating being a lesbian, even in 2024! For a piece of art such as this movie to have been made three years before I was born... well it just makes me feel grateful. Thank you to these artists!
I have still never seen a wlw film as tender and special to me as this one. When people ask what my favourite queer women film is, it's this one. I can't think of another that even comes close. I also think there are so few good queer women films and the fact that this one from the 90s and there still hasn't been a better one speaks volumes about the industry.
@EmilyNewman-gr7mt there's some random UA-cam videos of it I saw one that was in Spanish I hope they all aren't like that, but it's on Netflix too if you have that
Please do a sequel to it! You both all grown up and seeing each other again after all these years!! Omg I would watch it and drool over it! Thank you for the representation you gave me when no one around me was like me. Thank you! You made me feel normal and that it was ok to love who I wanted to love and not commit suicide. You saved my life!
That was great. LOVE that movie so much. And Maria's other movies as well, like Puccini for Beginners. But this one was very important to me and I still think about it all the time. I've followed Laurel ever since. Seen everything she's done.
so cute. :) Yes, it was groundbreaking. :) And it was rolemodels for teenagers like me back then, that we desperatly needed and appreciated. It made me strong and visable to have a movie like that growing up !
Such a great film. I couldn't put my finger on it beforewhen I watched it back in the day, but I just now realize how Laurel plays Randy it kinda remind me of Michael J Fox a little. Certain mannerisms.
The first film I saw as a gay girl with another girl in a public movie theatre. Too funny: all these years later, I was listening to the soundtrack a day ago, lol!
It’s from the 90’s. Sadly, I don’t know where to watch it legally, but there’s a playlist with most of the movie on UA-cam. Although it can probably be bought somewhere
