You know this is a good coach/player pairing at 5:29. Keb is being very hard on Trey for missing, without giving much coaching. Instead of shrinking, Trey challenges Keb and asks for coaching. Keb gives great explanation of what he is seeing, Trey listens. They go back to work. Great Lesson.
Most coaches aren't hard enough on students for missing. You'll be a far more successful tennis player if you really pay attention to getting the ball in... after all that's what it's all about. If you keep missing the same way and don't effect some kind of change... that's frustrating for a coach. Winners are fun, hitting hard is fun, but for 90% of tennis play out there simply keeping the ball in and not over hitting is a winning strategy.
Plus you can hear the positive reinforcement when Trey does good, coaching a human is just like teaching a dog, you admonish doing the opposite and encourage doing what’s right
It has to be intimidating to hit with such an advanced player, but that being said, I would kill to have that opportunity. I love Kev’s no nonsense coaching. Great video
Would absolutely love to see more of Keb. Saw and heard quite a few pointers in this video that I have not ever seen in the thousands of UA-cam tutorials I've watched. Keep up the hard work, your improvement was noticeable in this video alone. Subbed
I love the ending comments from Keb.. obviously his improvements is pretty incredible for 7 days. He's just gotta believe in that bh, let it go..loose early prep, commit, but I can see why focusing on it could be hard as his fh is much stronger and he's more confident so he'll run around it vs hitting a bh that in his mind he believes is weak.. definitely that volley drill at the end just shows a lot of good footwork and putting the ball back to Keb with pace over and over..
Man that was some great improvement. Was going to say keep everything flowing, then yeah Kevin just said near 6:30. Instead of muscling it and doing a faster and bigger stroke, try ordered fluidness. Have a much more loose grip. It will reduce the blisters, and specially allow much more power in the stroke. Start your stroke from the ground up. You'll get it!! Which Pro Staff are you using? Strings and tension? Really like your video and attitude man. Refreshing to see someone with a nice, humble, and great attitude. Cheers to you bro!!
I am impressed about how clear that ATP Pro Player conveys with the fundamentals to improve the game. I played tennis for over 40 years, I wish I could spend couple of hours with that guy to maximize my tennis. His improvement was unreliable, he improved based on the commitment but again I see the coach's being a great influence on that. What you shared was fantastic, thanks!!!
Keb is awesome because he's giving you exactly what you need (consistency and rythm on different paces)! The part where he said he feels you aren't trying hard to put the ball in was awesome. As a student thats around your level I can relate to that 😂
3:29 I have mentioned something similar to this in other videos. Need to attack those balls with the body more. Move forward a little more when hitting the ball. Overall the improvement from the week was noticeable. Great experience being able to get tips from such an advance player.
Interesting to see the progression that not only you made through the week, but that Keb made as a teacher. Initially he seemed to be a bit of a douche and wasn't doing a very good job at all at coaching (criticizing and getting angry/frustrated without providing any actual constructive advice on how to improve), but later in the week he appeared to mellow out and started to provide you with practical information pertaining to exactly what you needed to do to improve specific aspects of your game. Great vid!
If you watch the end of the video he explains what he was doing. He was testing how much he could push and his maturity level. With a mature person, you can give those bursts of negativity and it will motivate them. If you can't handle that type of feedback that doesn't make you less of an individual, you just aren't going to respond as well to coaching.
4.5 player here. I thoroughly enjoyed watching this transformation. Trey's shots and poise was inspiring. Timing, footwork, preparation noticeably improved. Made me feel like going out and hitting. Great job.
Incredible improvement over that week. You are lucky to have stumbled upon Kev. A straight shooter, honest, can be cold blooded when necessary, not afraid to give praise when it is due.
Keb is awesome. The Gravity tennis guy is full of BS imo, super weird teaching methods and WAY overcomplicates things. This is the type of guy who will make you better Trey!!
No knock on Scott, but i've realized you have to get coaching more than twice a month for it to do anything. Scott has to teach that way, if we went out and just rallied for an hour lesson and he told me to get it in more it would seem like a waste of time. It is not a waste of time doing that when you are seeing that person every day and they can make small tweaks.
@@Winners-Only Receiving coaching every day is ideal, of course. But it also is extremely expensive. IMO the minimum should be once a week. Ideally, twice a week, for adults.
Just started tennis, and I was in awe of your skill at the beginning of the video. After seeing your improvements with his coaching, that gives me motivation that there's always room to improve. Awesome video
Рік тому
I've been watching plenty of tennis videos lately, and this one is superb. Keb is doing an amazing job with you, and we're getting to learn through your lessons. Keep up the great work mate, love it e: didn't watch till the end, but I would sure love to keep watching this sort of videos, with on the go corrections. You sure have improved substantially, and I'll sure as hell start learning to feed the ball properly
Great work, saw a lot of improvement on both sides. One small tip, that backhand would improve further if you make the head of the racquet dip below the ball before contact. This helps you impart topspin to create a better shape and more safety over the net.
Great video. Keb seems like a good strict coach and awesome player. I noticed you both had similar rackets and got me wondering since we haven’t heard about it for a while. What string and tension is your current set up?
Great video I love the content man. Beyond the fluidity Keb mentioned, one thing that really helped improve my backhand was thinking about driving with my left arm and extending fully through the shot with my body weight. I would also watch videos of Nalbandian backhands and note how simple his motion is. You don’t need to do a whole lot to produce quality balls. Regardless, you have come a long way in a short time keep up the good work!
At first I saw Keb as very negative but glad that changed at the end of the video! As a fellow teaching pro, I get amazing results from positive encouragement and setting hitting goals and targets. It’s sooo important to build someone’s confidence before breaking them down. Also, you want to start your unit turn as early as possible; mainly before the ball crosses the net. You should be swinging into the bounce and holding the ball on the strings as long as possible. I didn’t see any mention of split step or balance which is critical to building a strong foundation in tennis! At the end of the day hard work pays off and they both had some great results.
I've been playing for around 15 years and I wish I had a hitting partner as good as keb lol. Btw, my two cents: your arms need to be loose. You look a bit stiff on the shots. If you treat your arms like a whip and be very loose, you get more power, spin, control, everything.
awesome vid. Shows you how important body control & racquet control are. Takes time. But Keb got u working on the right things. Just slapping balls around ppl won't improve.
You probably wouldn't want this type of coaching when first starting out but for an intermediate wanting to make quick progress in a short space of time then it has to be challenging and occasionally brusque. I dont see the value of dumping a load of technical instruction here either other than correcting any obvious problems. Keb was just trying to refine and embed the technique that's already there through repetition and discipline. Its definitely the kind of coaching I would respond to but maybe not for everyone.
Lmao he’s a little rough around the edges. You can tell he definitely knows what he’s saying but has never really coached anybody before in the way he talked to you. Like no shit you’re hitting it wrong, that’s why he’s there for and didn’t really give you too many pointers on what to fix. I will say if he showed up most of the days then he cares a little deep inside haha. Great video overall, keep up the good progress.
Your backhand is night and day, great job. On your forehand, it seems like you're using too much arm to generate speed and not enough of your body weight. Load off the right and transfer the weight forward when you're hitting for effortless power. Doing that with the racquet speed you've got now, you'll be hitting rockets. Keep it up man!
1) This is what can happen if a coach isn’t being paid to teach you tennis. He can be 💯 since he’s not risking a paycheck. 2) “you’re not making your backhand. Slow it down till it goes in.” DUH!! But in this age when rec players think a ground stroke isn’t a good one unless it’s going 80 mph it’s becomes sage advice. 3) For anyone who thinks Keb is harsh in anyway remember compared to a coach in any other real sport he’s a Snowflake ( mild, not disrespectful or condescending, to the point). At the end of the vid Trey said that he asked Keb to coach him. This frankly gave Keb license to be 💯 with Trey. 4) That one handed underspin backhand is getting worse. When your regular coach told you to use less wrist action during a volley lesson you said you tried “locking” your wrist. Do the same thing on the slice backhand. Keep the angle between the forearm and racket constant. DON’T use your wrist like your casting a small fishing rod to get racket head speed. Feel like you’re leading with the butt of the racket. 5) Keb didn’t know that the alternative name of this channel is “Forehands Only Tennis” .
dude, so fucking lucky to stumble into getting coached by someone this good. Its tough but its good coaching tough

Ehh… a coach shouldn’t have to be told to give a tip or you know coach…

We all need a Keb in our lives.

Nah, it would drive me nuts
13:30 real talk

Amazing couch. You improved well within a week. Comparing with the first day and last there is a big difference.
Dude. Amazing how much you progressed in that one week. Keb seems like a great coach. Well done.

Sort of the drill sergeant/military approach- tear you down to build you back up the right way
awesome to see this - i started playing about 2 months ago and seeing this journey is super encouraging. thank you!
4.5 player here. I thoroughly enjoyed watching this transformation. Trey's shots and poise was inspiring. Timing, footwork, preparation noticeably improved. Made me feel like going out and hitting. Great job.

Keb is a real life superhero! Trey progressed so much in that week 😮
This video is awesome. Thanks. Cool to see you getting so much better from the start.
Great video and the progress is definitely visible! Keep on grinding 👌
More of Keb tennis tips, please!
What a privilege to be 1-1 coached by someone like him. Please take the most our of it.
This is so inspiring. Thank you.
7:36 When you said 40°C, i was shellcocked and couldnt belive it 😦
Well done on the hard work! You have my respect
Wow big improvement Trey. Loved the video.
Thank you Keb for the help! Nice evolution of course!
Fantastic stuff. One of the better videos and all that work you are putting in is paying off!
Really enjoyed the video! Good work
I knew I recognized that voice...
Nick Edlefsen
I played doubles with him ...

This was useful to watch. You visibly improved and Keb seems like a very good and tough coach

You improved greatly 😊 and Keb gave some really useful advice so please more more more!!!
More to come hopefully!

Keb is a great coach. Another week with him would be great to watch!
Excellent production and great content. Keep it up!
5:25 lol he is being pretty harsh I love it.
Great video. Keb seems like a good strict coach and awesome player.
I noticed you both had similar rackets and got me wondering since we haven’t heard about it for a while.

I’m impressed with your stamina. Great coaching!

This is such a brilliant and inspiring video 👏🏻
great video. kevin is a great coach. i love how demanding he is.
I can hear Keb right now in my head. Great content and you earned a new sub. Keep it up
awesome vid. Shows you how important body control & racquet control are. Takes time. But Keb got u working on the right things. Just slapping balls around ppl won't improve.
Wow! You has improved so much in just few days!
This is great, I would have died for this encounter. Mi amigo, split step... on. every. ball! :) More than anything that will help you prepare quicker
This is the most improvement I've ever seen from this guy. Well done.
I learnt a lot from this video. Love this format showing the gradual progression!
BTW, are you both using the Pro Staff X?
What a tough challenge, PROPS TO YOU! I also liked the cross court forehand videography on day 7! WP sir!
Great video! Shout out to Keb for doing this with you.
How about serve and return of serve? Great video!
great video overall, super entertaining :)
Keb was great. Good improvement in this video!
You lived our dream 🎉

Agreed. You have to demand performance out of yourself to gain the maximum value from this style of coaching.
awesome improvement unreal
dramatic improvements in a short amount of time. great coach, great student!

What string set up are you using bro? I think at your level you might see added benefit from using multi filament if you aren’t already.
awesome video - what a priviledge for you!
The improvement is definitely visible from day 1 to 7 all your shots look solid 💪
We love Keb!
me too!
What was the advise on how to deal with those higher slower balls?
he’d be a great coach I like how he holds you accountable for every non quality ball. I’d hire him.
Such a cool opportunity. I'm so jealous!
He is so harsh but in the end very fair.
Keb is a great coach! Look at the improvement in just 7 sessions

why the heck is the sunset consistently beautiful hahaha
Also what shoes were he wearing ? Seems to be well cushioned.
Good improvement just in one week, really good results actually.
Fantastic content.
Great video
DEF BETTER nice of Kevin to mentor you your good for a year
I need to do this
WONDERFUL VIDEO !
great improvement in a week!
amount of effort you put in is actually hella impressive man
Great stuff
Maybe it’s the camera but on day 4-5 your forehand was looking very fluid, no hitch at all. Overall much improved on the baseline.
are you doing volleys next?
great improvement
U mean for the friends from the “rest of the world”, that’s 40 degrees Celsius? LOLOL
Dude that pro must have crazy top spin that’s hard to rally 74 balls! Wow!
Find a former ATP coach is expensive, you met a nice guy!!😂
Great job
nice progress man, not sure if your racquet benefits you imo, pro staff are for clean hitters with lot of experience, you should try blades or ultras
I play the prostaff X. More forgiving than the 97!
Lance Armstrong warmup 😂😂😂
putting in the work, big improvement, I like the coachs style, tough, he'll push you, I don't lke the coach that thinks all the shots are good
This guys a savage. Making you build mental toughness too lol

Great vid
Dude was kind of Garbo in the beginning but looked like a real tennis player at the end. Good job coach
And student
that's what I need - Mr. Kevin to stop by near my area 🙂
I think if someone spoke to me like this on court, I wouldn't want to come back...
