You can copy patterns, companies do it all the time. They use their seamstress to deconstruct to break down the garment. There’s no patten on garments, unless using a specific material, or colors.
I dealt with vendors in NY, I'm still waiting for my pieces, and it cost me 300 per sample, so a friend told me to try overseas, I went with a manufacturer from Pakistan, The process is smoother, communication is better. got my samples made and shipped within a month. i can say the manufacturer in Pakistan is a lot more professional and their pattern makers are great. so in my opinion I don't have a problem with overseas, I actually recommend it.
I feel you. I tried very hard to keep manufacturer stateside but the communication was horrible. Days and even weeks with no responses. I tried overseas, the communication is almost instant even despite the time zone differences.

When u find a manufacturer overseas, do u only get blanks from them and bring them to a local print shop in the states or do u get the overseas ppl to print them there as well?

I’ve been slow off the block to search for an overseas manufacturer for my product/s because my experiences here in America have been so overwhelming. I also want to finish my patent application before I take it overseas since I know they aren’t bound by NDA’s the same way we are here in the states…I know the patent isn’t going to hold much protection over there either but at least I know if I see my design on these American streets I’ll have a leg to stand on. Amazing video, I’m in the process of starting my own brand but the problem is finding a good supplier in alibaba, unfortunately the communication between Chinese people and American is not that great. You tried to explain exactly what you want and they say they understand and when you order your sample is not what you describe or say how you wanted. Another problem is finding a good supplier in Pakistan they seem to understand your needs but their prices per shirt is ridiculous expensive is like $13 dollars per shirt where in China you can get a shirt per $6 but their communication sucks and their sizes are small. Will be nice if you guys can share exactly the manufacture you guys ate using 🙏
I was ready to start my clothing brand a month ago but I ended up getting scammed from a vendor in Pakistan on alibaba and that has changed my thought of finding a supplier overseas and it has set me back with getting my brand started ! All I really wanted to do was try to do something different and get my brand out there and this setback happened to me I am still hurt from it and afraid to move forward with any supplier even though I decided to go with a US based supplier from this point on , I wish I thought of that in the first place !

No. That’s not how a trademark works lol i actually just trademarked my name and logo last week. You cant use the exact same name but you can use the name you provided. Also the logo is very important.
