That was one hell of a hunt. We tried to rope a horse last spring and every time we got close she grabbed another gear. It took 2 days to get her tired enough and fresh horses for us.
This is the kind of life I wish I could live, so I'm living vicariously through your videos Lol. That was alot of fun to watch , definitely better than any sports game.
It’s great fun getting to do this occasionally! I can’t do it full time, but cooking for my step dad and his outfitting company each summer is such fun.
So happy for you that you were able to get her back along with the gear. I dang near fell off a couple of times dude, but it was so much fun and thank you for sharing and making me feel part of it. I've missed not seeing you, but do understand that it takes a lot of time and work. Definitely appreciate you and your friends so much. Take care, travel safe and enjoy life always Rusty in OK
That was some good riding and fantastic horses! So glad you found your mule and didn’t just call her a lost cause, since she could’ve been injured with that pack and dragging lead! Angriest we’ve ever been was when another outfitter had two horses and a mule fall from the catwalk (what we’ve nicknamed a 20 minute narrow cliff walk) and just kept riding. He didn’t come back to check the bodies, or even make sure they were dead, and they showed up at the trailhead two weeks later.
as someone who has never had anything to do with mules they sure have a turn of speed .Apart from the snow i would have liked to have been there with you great video stay safe
This is an awesome video. Kept me on the edge of my seat waiting to see who caught the mule. I'm glad you got her back before winter really set in or a big cat got her.
Wow, you literally had a posse out to capture this mule! And it looks like it’s cold! But I’m glad you found the mule, otherwise he would’ve been stuck with the saddle bag hanging underneath her forever.
I came to the comment section to say "cool, they made Red Dead Redemption in real life," but I knew in my heart that it - or something like it - was already said.
Hey guys. That was my first time ever following along with you young pups on your quest for a run away mule. What a great time watching you all. TOTALLY enjoyed it! Best wishes to you all! Looking forward to the next ride.
wow Thanks so much! I worked on a ranch all through high school in the 70ds . All I ever did was clean stalls and put steers in the shoot. I never got to do anything this cool. Thanks for showing me what I missed
@Brooke Eckstein yeah I live in Minnesota and winter here sucks but my horses, cats, and chickens have to eat otherwise they stare at the house and when you walk outside they neigh at you and my cats sit in the deck staring into the window until you go out to feed them lol.
@Brooke Eckstein in total I have 5 chickens, 5 cats, 1 dog, 2 horses, 8 fish, 6 shrimp, 1 bird, and 4 snails Edit: I’ve had many more types in the past like a rabbit and animals like that
@Brooke Eckstein I like to include my fish and animals like that because I like them and their lives matter too. Then there’s people who say “it’s just a fish” and those people are usually the same people who keep their fish in a bowl and say “oh well” when it dies the next day. I used to have goldfish and they were huge and I loved them and I got them all as rescues and they were in a big tank but sadly a disease got in my tank and I tried treating them and everything but I lost them all within 24 hours and I miss them a lot because they had so much personality.
Lol, she’s had a taste of freedom. When one of my horses takes off running with hobbles on in the middle of the night they all want to go like all hell broke loose. Then I’m running in the cold dark night in my underwear. Make sure that mule is tied.
I’m so glad that my horses know where home is. One of my horses recently bucked me off and I got a concussion and bruised my ribs and one of my lungs and my horse took off towards home so thankfully I didn’t have to worry about trying to get her back.
I went back country horse camping with some friends. I was a bit intimidated because I had never packed out before. The pack guy lost two mules. I thought, hell, I can do that! I no longer felt intimidated.
