i'm pretty sure that the specimen at 41:55 is malachite after barite on dioptase - not diopside

Also my favorite mineral seller. His personality is fantastic. Pakistan is one of the worst markets for foreigners trying to buy in Peshawar. Their ridiculous pricing to foreigners in Peshawar is pretty much killing the market in the area.

yes but his prices are not cheap..
In general, I have not seen a single dealer from Pakistan that has what I would say ''fair'' prices. Its always overpriced. It makes sense for middle men, but not for people from the source.

@@unpopuIaropinion I don't begrudge his high prices because he deals in the biggest and highest quality specimens, so you're generally paying a big premium for that best of the best material. Pakistan in general has been a weird place for me in terms of mineral purchases. I've been able to get fantastic deals by bargaining with sellers on ebay in Pakistan. I recently picked up an 11kg fluorite for $400 that is a massive and top quality museum piece and $100 of that was the shipping (the asking price was originally $1,000 plus the $100 shipping). On the other hand I've been in the country trying to buy and they won't budge off prices that are higher than you'd pay at the Tucson show. That said, every Pakistan dealer I've dealt with has been incredibly honest and a lot of the gem rough dealers have been extraordinary. I frequently buy gem rough parcels from Pakistan being sold over instagram and ebay and haven't been scammed or stolen from once. I would compare that to india where they are almost always trying to scam, or china where about half are trying to scam. The chinese scammers on ebay are at least all helpful enough to put crystal in their username so you know if the username has crystal and it's being shipped from china they're going to shill bid you or sell you a fake, dyed, lab grown, etc. specimen.

    Absolutely Treasure Cave!
But what was the skinny, Moroccan black ugly? Hematite?

I can't believe that was extracted without breaking. Must have been displaced after formation into a horizontal position and protected just right by the layers.
